The 2nd North India Garment Fair (NIGF 2024) by CMAI Commences; Brings Together 200+ Exhibitors and Expected to attract about 7000 Trade Visitors

New Delhi, June 11, 2024: The 2nd North India Garment Fair (NIGF 2024) organised by the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) commenced on Jun 11 till June 13, 2024, at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre (IICC), Dwarka, New Delhi. NIGF 2024 features over 200 exhibitors showcasing a diverse array of menswear, womenswear, and kidswear.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by leading North India retailers, including Manik Jain & Sahil Jain of Aristocrat Garments, Bharat Bhushan Taneja of Paul Garments, R D Gupta of Bindals Group, Ranjit Surana of Bachoomal Collection, Sanjeev Garg of Stanmax, Mohinder Chaudhary and Saurabh Chaudhary of Suvidha Stores, Tarun Langer & Chander Shekhar Mahajan of Yougal Sons as Guests of Honour. Delhi NCR: To celebrate World Environment Day, various renowned organizations took significant steps to contribute to a greener future. DLF Mall of India conducted a tree-plantation drive to promote environmental awareness. During this program, over 1,000 saplings of various species, including Peepal, Amla, Jamun, Ashoka, Neem, and Moharsari, were planted around the mall as a pledge to keep the environment clean, green, and happy.

The dedicated team from DLF Mall of India and students from Shankara Special School actively participated in the campaign. The students were also educated about protecting the environment and adopting a healthy lifestyle. Participants emphasized the importance of planting trees and committed to environmental conservation.

Meanwhile, in Greater Noida, SKA Destiny 1 and Paramount Golf Foreste Society also carried out a tree plantation drive to mark Environment Day. Over 1,000 saplings were planted along society grounds and footpaths. Saplings were distributed as gifts to residents, extending World Environment Day greetings and reinforcing the pledge to save the environment. Sanjay Sharma, Director of SKA Group, emphasized that tree planting is essential in combating global warming, which led to the planting campaign at SKA Destiny-1 Society. Residents of Paramount Golf Foreste Society also planted over 1,000 saplings.

Amid this celebration, Escon Infra Realtor organized a tree-plantation campaign at Panache on World Environment Day. Approximately 200 saplings were planted, including Peepal, Amla, Jamun, Ashoka, Neem, and Moharsari. This act of planting trees served as a message for environmental conservation.

June 5, 2024 – The year started off with an exciting development coming in that Amitabh Bachchan had snapped up a mega deal with The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL) to invest in 10,000 sq ft of land in Ayodhya, very close to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. A smart real-estate investor, Mr Bachchan realized the potential of the city and prior to the temple’s consecration ceremony, he invested a large sum of money to buy the plot in a 7-star land development – The Sarayu. He celebrated Ayodhya’s legacy and cultural richness by attending the inauguration of the grand Ram Mandir. But that’s not it! It seems that Ayodhya is now being taken to the global stage, and Amitabh Bachchan was a big part of this historic initiative by HoABL, that took over three major cities last night.

With a series of grand events at iconic locations in Dubai, New York, and Delhi NCR, people were presented the immense potential of Ayodhya – the symbol of national pride, inviting global participation in Ayodhya’s promising future. These events included an immersive Augmented Reality display at the largest frame in the world, Dubai Frame, standing tall at 150 meters. Dubai Frame is one of Dubai’s most iconic structures and it signifies a bridge between the past and the present, so it was a fitting destination to honour Ayodhya’s tradition while heralding its future through an immersive augmented reality display that also showcased Amitabh Bachchan’s investment along with HoABL. In Times Square, New York City, a video display and on-ground activation brought Ayodhya’s heritage to the heart of NYC, connecting a global audience to the splendor of Ayodhya along with Mr Bachchan’s pictures and videos.

But the most significant and eye-catching display was the spectacular drone-show that illuminated the skies of Delhi NCR, celebrating Ayodhya’s historical and spiritual significance. It showcased progress innovation and tradition of the region, as well as brought alive iconic figures and places such as Lord Ram and his wonderful temple. Amitabh Bachchan’s face also lit up the night sky, much to the audience’s delight.

Delhi NCR, 31st May 2024: Orchids The International School is proud to announce the outstanding achievements of its students, Aarit Indrajeet, a 5th grade student and Saanvi Chaudhary, a 7th grade student who showcased their exceptional skills and won medals at the National Kickboxing Games 2024 that was held in Pune, Gurgaon and Delhi.

The grade 7th student, Saanvi clinched the Bronze medal, securing 3rd position in her age category. Her journey to this National Championship began at the State and District Kickboxing Championship, held at Orchids The International School, South City 1, and Haryana Sports Complex, Faridabad, where she won the Gold medal. The National Kickboxing Games, organized by the WAKO India Kickboxing Federation, saw participation from over 1300 athletes from all Indian states, with around 60 participants competing in Saanvi’s age and weight category. Her achievement is a testament to her dedication, skill, and perseverance. With this win Saanvi also qualified for the Kickboxing World Junior Championship which will be held at Budapest, Hungary.

Further, Orchids The International School’s 5th grade student, Aarit Inderjeet, secured the Silver medal in the National Children & Cadet Kickboxing Championship 2024 in Pune under the -36 Kg Children Category, Point Fight Event. His path to the podium was paved with intense bouts, showcasing his physical capabilities, mental resilience, and unwavering commitment to excellence. In addition to his success at the National level he also won the Bronze medal in Kyorugi Taekwondo Championship under the -35 Kg Sub-Junior Category and the Silver medal in district Taekwondo Championship under the -37 Kg Sub-Junior Category. These achievements highlight his consistent performance and dedication to martial arts.

Investment potential skyrockets in Gurugram’s Southern Peripheral road

Delhi-NCR witnessed a new supply of 3,614 residential units in the first quarter of 2024, as per a report by Cushman & Wakefield. However, it was Gurugram which dominated supply with 44% share primarily concentrated along the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) also known as Golf Course Extension Road. Of these numbers, the share of the luxury segment was a whopping 61%.

However, the sub-region that lies at the heart of this transformation is the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR), also known as Central Peripheral Road. Otipy partners with Haryana govt, plans to procure 10,000 tonnes in 2022 from FPOs

Otipy, India’s fastest growing community group-buying startup for fresh fruits and vegetables, today announced a partnership with the Haryana govt to procure 10,000 tonnes of fresh produce in 2022, from Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs).

Varun Khurana, Founder, and CEO say “At Otipy, we move 80-100 tonnes of produce every day from farms to consumers in NCR, and Haryana is a major procurement zone. We have signed an MoU with Haryana Government-promoted FPOs and will be procuring at least 10,000 tonnes from 600+ FPOs (farmer producer organizations) in Haryana in 2022. This will also help increase farmer’s incomes which is in line with the Government’s strategic initiatives.”

Deepak Tewari, VP – Sourcing for Otipy said “We have been working with several FPOs in Haryana across various farm clusters and have had a great symbiotic relationship. Haryana is a major sourcing belt due to its proximity to NCR, which helps us serve freshly harvested produce to consumers. We plan to further build on these relationships.”

Otipy procures its products from more than 10,000 farmers across Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra. Leveraging its unique prediction-based model, Otipy has been able to decrease food wastage in the supply chain from 40% down to just 3%.
