Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal Share Secrets to Keeping Their Relationship Private

Mumbai, September 28, 2024 – Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal opened up about their intimate wedding, offering a glimpse into the special day at CNN News18 Mumbai Townhall 2024 on Friday.

The couple discussed their decision to keep the ceremony low-key, surrounded only by close friends and family, and Sonakshi shared her uncontainable excitement.

Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal

When asked why they didn’t openly discuss their relationship or make public appearances as a couple, Sonakshi had a heartfelt response. “Nazar,” she quipped, hinting at the common belief of warding off negative energy. She went on to explain that being in the limelight as an actress often means that attention can divert from one’s work and legacy. “I feel it’s always better to keep private things private,” Sonakshi said.

“You’re already so much in the limelight; everybody knows everything about you. Something that is so dear to you should be kept for yourself.”

Reflecting on the overwhelming love they received after the wedding, Sonakshi admitted she hadn’t expected such a heartfelt reaction. “Honestly, no,” she said, recalling the days leading up to their big day. “There were so many mixed emotions and different things we were reading online. But we decided to drown out the noise and just focus on each other.” After dating for seven years, both Sonakshi and Zaheer were determined to celebrate their love without worrying about outside opinions. “We said, to hell with the world, and we’re going to celebrate our love,” Sonakshi said.

She described a beautiful shift that occurred once they were finally married. “The day we got married, I don’t know what shifted, but there was only love. Everyone there could see the love between us—our family, our friends. We wanted only the people who genuinely and truly love us to be there. Positive, positive, positive energy. And that’s what happened.”

One of the most touching moments was when Sonakshi’s excitement shone through as she signed the marriage papers. The session’s host fondly recalled how Sonakshi clapped her hands in childlike delight, a moment that clearly radiated her joy. “I was just more expressive,” Sonakshi said with a laugh. “I might have screeched in excitement and then realised, ‘It’s your wedding day!’”

Zaheer shared similar sentiments, explaining how both of them were filled with excitement as the moment finally arrived. “There was a sort of urgency—we just wanted to get married. We wanted to call each other husband and wife,” he said. “It’s been a very long time.”

Sonakshi reflected on how significant the moment was for him personally. “When you ask kids what they want to do, some will say they want to be an actor or a doctor. I used to say, I want to grow up and be married,” she revealed.

For Zaheer, the wedding represented the culmination of something he had dreamed about since childhood, and his excitement matched Sonakshi’s. “When I found the right person, and we were signing those papers, I was just ecstatic.”

Zaheer summed up their emotions perfectly. He said if anyone ever asks whether they should get married, he would show them the video of their wedding and say, “If you don’t feel like this when you’re signing the papers, then don’t get married!”

India’s Grade A office market is likely to touch 1.2 billion sq ft by 2030; valued at USD 165 billion at current pricing: JLL

Mumbai, 28 April 2021: The office segment in India has been one of the fastest to recover from the impact of the pandemic. The recovery has been so phenomenal that India’s Grade A office market across the top seven cities is poised to grow to over 1 billion sq ft in size by 2026, said a JLL paper titled ‘Reimagining, Reinventing and Redefining Real Estate 2030’released today at the National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO), Maharashtra’s flagship event, The Real Estate Forum 2022whereJLL associated as a Knowledge Partner.

In the post-Covid world, the flex space segment is expected to grow and be a mainstream occupier segment with operator-landlord partnerships creating superior office assets. As a result of the evolution to a more distributed work model, occupiers will look at strategies to not only make their portfolio more agile but also tap into the talent pool from emerging urban centers. The flexible space segment will play a key role in supporting occupiers’ growth strategies given the changing dynamics of portfolio optimization and employee needs. As such, the flex market is expected to double its footprint across the top seven cities by 2025 to ~75 million sq ft and cross the 100 million sq ft mark by 2030.

Karan Singh Sodi, Regional Managing Director, Mumbai & Ahmedabad, JLL said,

“Given the growth dynamics, India’s Grade A office market across the top seven cities is poised to grow to over 1billion sq. ft in size by 2026 and touch 1.2 billion sq ft by 2030. India will continue to remain the leader in technology outsourcing and will build on its gains as the biggest R&D and Global Capability Centre hub across financial services, software development, new technology, artificial intelligence and machine learning. Also, with the country’s renewed focus on making itself as a manufacturing hub, engineering and manufacturing firms will setup large R&D centers here, making its office market the most dynamic in the region. It has already proved itself as the global vaccine hub making it healthcare and life sciences R&D leader. India may potentially account for over2/3rds of all occupier activity in the Asia Pacific region.”

The office and the residential segments in India have seen a very smart and sustained recovery in the past few quarters. With investor confidence back, as witnessed by the rise in total institutional investments in the Indian real estate segment, we are well poised to grow exponentially in the next few years. What is most heartening to witness is the occupiers’ focus on sustainability and green solutions to help reduce the carbon footprint.

Mr. Sandeep Runwal, President, NAREDCO Maharashtra & MD, Runwal Developers, said, “One of the highlights of the post COVID world has been the recovery of the office segment and this segment is expected to grow to over 1 billion sq ft in size by 2026 across seven cities which includes Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore and Hyderabad. It’s an interesting development which we believe is an apt topic to focus on at the NAREDCO Maharashtra flagship event The Real Estate Forum 2022.”

Sustainability is the key to the future

India’s commercial Grade A office stock across the top seven cities has a 42% green-certification penetration. The penetration of green-certified buildings is likely to cross the 50% mark overall over the next decade. In fact, new supply is likely to be green rated to an extent of 70-75% even as older projects look to upgrade and reduce their carbon footprint. With occupiers driving the green agenda and willing to pay a premium for such green buildings, affirmative action on net zero carbon pledges by occupiers will push the commercial office segment towards setting aggressive sustainability and net-zero carbon targets.

India’s listed REITs would be one of the leading markets in the Asia Pacific

The market capitalisation of listed REITs which stood at USD 8 billion currently is expected to grow manifold with the specialized REITs market developing in the next few years. This will also lead to increased retail participation. Consolidation of rent yielding assets across segments Institutional investments in rent yielding assets across segments will increase leading to higher consolidation of assets. Portfolio deals will become prominent.

Urban logistics grows on the back of e-commerce

The rise of e-commerce and the ‘within-15-minutes delivery’ has been the powerful engine for the growth of the urban logistics and in-city logistics story. Multi-story warehouses would also act as the next step in logistics for effective utilization of land at the last mile delivery locations as well as peripheral logistics. On-demand warehousing offers flexibility and agility to direct-to-consumer sellers to avail of order fulfillment or warehousing services as and when required. With omnichannel focus, customers expect new alternatives such as buying online and pickup in-store or shipping from store.

A courageous 3-Year-Old brave heart gets a new lease of life at Medica Superspecialty Hospital

Hyderabad, April 28th, 2022: Medica Group of Hospitals, the largest private hospital chain in Eastern India, at its flagship facility Medica Superspecialty Hospital in Kolkata conducted a rare and critical operation on a 3-year-old girl child with a very uncommon birth-related heart disease. The team of experienced doctors from departments of pediatric and congenital heart disease joined hands together for this complex and exceptional case. Under the supervision of Dr. Anil Kumar Singhi, Senior Consultant and Head, Department of Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease, Medica Superspecialty Hospital, the child survived the ordeal which turned out to be, one of the most unexpected recoveries in recent time.

In 2019, while the Bhattacharjee family from Hooghly were cherishing the moment of their first child, they were traumatized to learn that their child had an unusual heartbeat which could be the only sign that she has PDA (Patent ductus arteriosus – a heart problem that occurs soon after birth in some babies, which usually goes away after 72 hours) or a hole in the heart. After a month of frequent checkups in the hospital, the sound did not stop. Post consultation with their family pediatrician, the child was referred to Dr. Anil Singhi at Medica Superspecialty Hospital. Without any further delay, the child was rushed to Medica for treatment. After a thorough diagnosis by the Medica team of doctors, it was learned that the child had an abnormal connection between the two heart chambers.

An unusually long tunnel was abruptly twisted backward and linked to the right atrium (the upper right chamber of the heart that receives polluted blood from the body) from the left side of the aorta (the principal artery transporting pure blood from the left lower heart chamber to the body). That abnormal tunnel was draining out blood from three openings of the upper right chamber of the heart which could have resulted in the swelling of blood vessels, or Ischemia (a condition in which the blood flows out resulting in oxygen restriction or reduction) in the cardiac muscle. Due to numerous risk factors associated with the unusual tunnel, it was decided to seal the tunnel after a few months of examination.

The entire process got delayed for 2 years due to the dreadful COVID-19 pandemic which was witnessed by the entire nation. After subsequent challenges, on April 5, 2022, when the child was 3 years old, she was eventually admitted to Medica for her due treatment. The anatomy of the tunnel was determined using Echocardiography followed by a Cardiac CT Angiography which confirmed the tube anatomy. On 6th April, various attempts to close the tunnel via the right side of the heart chamber were unsuccessful at first. As a result, the tunnel was determined to be closed from the left side of the heart chamber. The tunnel was successfully closed using a KONAR –MF occluder (a device) through a transcatheter route. The Child was discharged with a very satisfying post-operative evaluation after 2 days (8th April) of the surgery and is slowly getting back to her normal life.

Dr. Anil Kumar Singhi, Senior Consultant and Head, Department of Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease, Medica Superspecialty Hospital, said, “The little girl had visited us in an ill state with heart failure symptoms. The diagnosis of the extremely rare condition in the child was challenging. The child required intense medical therapy and close supervision to allow her to grow initially. Managing the distressed family in the COVID-19 pandemic was again a nightmare as procedures had to be deferred. It was an incredibly challenging method due to the difficult pathway, alongside the abnormal tunnel is very rare and uncommon in the World. Transcatheter closure in small children is rewarding for both the patient and the medical team. Worldwide, only a few instances of mainly surgical closure have been reported in the scientific literature. After all the challenges, and difficulties faced, we are extremely pleased to know that the child is doing extremely well, and we wish her and the family the very best in life.”

Mr. Bhattacharjee (the father of the child), stated, “We see the doctors on a regular basis for checkups, and we are really satisfied with the love and care that are given to our daughter. When our child was admitted to Medica, she did not have any symptoms, but her left ventricle was larger due to the abnormal tunnel. In just 2 weeks’ time, her ventricle has already returned to its normal size which proves that she has been healing quickly now. Our hearts are filled with enormous joy after seeing our daughter’s smile and laugh once again.”

Having set benchmarks in patient care, Medica Superspecialty Hospital, which has a world-class comprehensive department for heart failure, at the facility, in Kolkata, is widely known for its excellence in cardiac care has now added another feather to its cap, after successfully conducting the high-risk operation with extensive options for treatment and management of the congenital cardiac disease.

The IBT consists of diagnostic testing and is designed to challenge students across a broad range of ability levels.
