This development will create a win-win situation for both urban folks and farmers, by giving the latter access to fresh products and former the opportunity to drive more earnings.

Since its inception, OTIPY has gained significant traction and successfully emerged as the most preferred platform of fresh produce for end-consumers across Delhi-NCR. Although the new additions made to the platform are at a nascent stage and are slated to constitute a miniscule share at the start, they will attract more consumers in the following months. OTIPY has always remained committed to delivering fresh products to customers while creating newer avenues of income for farmers. The latest addition to the portfolio will further strengthen its vision, help the brand tap into more modern markets, and take it to new heights. This will also open up new untapped markets for farmers which will eventually increase their net income.

The platform currently serves over 50k customers by sourcing fruits and vegetables from various regions across India, including Haryana, UP, Delhi, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra. The new addition of products to the platform will further increase its reach and make fresh produce available to more new customers. This will help consumer access value added fresh produce.

Quick Heal helps in the recovery of stolen desktops and other items in Gujarat

Gujarat: We have heard a lot about how cybersecurity solutions protect end-users from threat actors stealing their sensitive data. But, have you ever imagined how this can also save users from robbery? As astonishing as it may sound, the news is 100% authentic, and the protagonist in this story is Quick Heal!

Two desktops along with a few other items were robbed from Hari Preet Fashion, a garment store in Surat, in September 2020. A group of thieves barged into the shop and stole a couple of items, including two desktops, an embroidery machine, garments, a CCTV unit, and an LED. However, little did they know that the Quick Heal anti-virus solution installed on the desktops would turn out to be a trap that would help in tracing them.

Post the robbery, the end-user filed an FIR, followed by the local police initiating their investigation process. After about a month, the victim purchased a new desktop and requested Universal Computer, who is also a Quick Heal dealer to install the Quick Heal solution with the previous license key, which went away with the stolen desktop. On the next day itself, the new desktop that now had the old QH license key started receiving multiple installation errors. The dealer was aware that this problem occurs only when the same QH license is simultaneously being used on another machine.

The dealer immediately contacted Quick Heal support team and shared the FIR copy with them. The team registered a query on TrackMyLaptop, a free Quick Heal laptop tracking facility to retrieve stolen laptops. Post registration, Quick Heal support team assisted the police and guided them to use this service, as per the given instructions. After the tracking process, the team shared details such as Mac ID, IP, city and location of the stolen desktops with the police officials. The digital evidence helped in their investigation and eventually trace and recover most of the stolen items fromthe culprits. Later, the data on the system was accessed and found intact.

Amit Kathrotiya of Hari Preet Fashion said, “I am truly grateful to Quick Heal and Police authorities for retrieving the stolen items in such a short time frame. I never thought of recovering these items, but Quick Heal has restored faith in us and proved that safety could be ensured in today’s digital-first era too. I would highly recommend Quick Heal to everyone who owns a computer, be it a desktop, laptop or mobile. Thanks, Quick Heal!”

Bus travel on path to normalcy: Over 3 lakh passengers travelled through redBus for the 2nd October long weekend

RedBus, India’s largest online bus ticketing platform, recorded over 3 lakh seat reservations across the country over the 2nd October long weekend, in the latest sign of the industry returning to normalcy. States such as Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal are currently showing high demand for bus travel, surpassing pre-lockdown levels, partly due to limited availability of trains on key routes, making buses the most preferred means of travel.

Over the long weekend, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and West Bengal recorded maximum demand for travel in the country, while the top destinations preferred by the passengers were Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Ahmedabad.

The top 5 routes in the country for which redBus is witnessing significant bookings at present are, Bengaluru – Hyderabad, Delhi – Chandigarh, Hyderabad – Vijayawada, Asansol – Kolkata and Gorakhpur-Delhi.

Safety of passengers and the bus crew continues to be the top priority for redBus and the platform had earlier launched its Safety+ program, certification for its partner bus operators who meet the highest standards of excellence in safety and sanitization. Safety+ certified operators follow strict safety protocols to address the concerns around safety due to COVID-19.

The redBus ticketing platform indicates bus operators with this self-certification, with a Safety+ tag next to the bus listing, enabling passengers to opt for such operators or buses.

While Safety+ ensures that the partner bus operators enforce a slew of strict safety measures to keep the passengers safe, redBus has also listed out a set of passenger guidelines encouraging them to travel responsibly for a safe journey.

A behavioural shift that has been evident post-COVID is the preference for online bus booking going up. This has gained traction lately due to the safety and convenience aspects associated with it, compared to offline modes of ticket purchase. redBus has seen a rise in first-time customers, with the percentage of the transactions undertaken by new customers nearly doubling from 11% (Pre-COVID) to 21% (Post-COVID).

Another interesting trend being witnessed is the willingness among people in Tier 2 and Tier 3 towns to travel, resulting in them contributing around 67% of the current bookings, as they look to return back to their workplaces (this was 56% earlier in the pre-COVID period).

Some of Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities with high demand for bus travel at present are Jaipur, Gorakhpur, Indore, Visakhapatnam, Kalaburagi, Rajkot, Malda and Guwahati.

Speaking on the upbeat near-term outlook for the industry, Prakash Sangam, CEO, redBus, said, “The current phase is an important inflection point with a steady rise in demand for bus travel across the country, brought about by the gradual resumption of activities across all spheres, making travel a necessity. We expect this trend to continue with an increase in economic activity, further relaxation in locked down activities, the upcoming festive season and also when colleges/universities reopen. On many routes, we have also seen a substitution of demand moving from Trains to Buses.”

Chief Minister of Gujarat to start Digital Seva Setu in rural areas

Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani has decided to start Digital Seva Setu Program in rural areas of the state to ensure optimum utilisation of technology for public welfare.

Under this, citizens will be able to reap the benefits of various public welfare services of rural areas at the Panchayat level itself. Citizens can get various documents like duplicate ration card, income certificate, senior citizen certificate, caste certificate etc. at their doorstep.

The Phase-1 of Digital Seva Setu will start from 8th October 2020 in 2000 Village Panchayats and provide 20 types of pro-people services. Another 8 thousand Village Panchayats will be covered by December 2020. Citizens will be able to reap the benefits of this program by paying a nominal fee of Rs.20.

The Seva Setu program was started by the Chief Minister in 2016. A cluster of 8-10 villages was made and a team of officers administered the Seva Setu camp of a particular cluster. People were provided on-spot solutions under this. More than 12,800 programs were successfully completed and more than 2 crore people reaped benefits of the Chief Minister’s initiative to provide Governance at the Doorstep of common people.

The Digital Seva Setu is also a step towards fulfilling the vision and mission of Digital India of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi.

The Digital Seva Setu has been initiated under the BharatNet Project- an initiative to connect the Village Panchayats through fibre network.

Gujarat has been a leader in Phase-2 of the BharatNet project.

Villages of Gujarat will be connected with a 100 MBPS optical fibre network under the Digital Seva Setu. The aim is to make every village a Mini Sachivalay.

Under the provision of Article-3 of Oaths Act-1969, the government will provide powers of the affidavit to the Talati cum Minister at the Village Panchayat level so that people in rural areas do not have to visit the notary offices in towns and cities.

The Chief Minister has also decided to use E-sign rather than physical signatures. Under this, the concerned person can avail the necessary documents at the click of a button in his/her mobile phone and the documents will be made available in DigiLocker.

An integrated and dedicated platform will be made in the future to encompass all the villages of Gujarat under Digital Seva Setu.

This digital initiative will reduce human interface and propel a paperless working system under Chief Minister’s mantra of ‘Minimum Government, Maximum Governance.’ It will also pave way for transforming more than 18,000 villages of Gujarat into Modern and Global villages.

Gujarat will once again lead India in Good Governance under the Chief Minister and pave way for other states in the digital stride.
