About 40 years ago, we decided to work on this subject. Today all the IIHMR graduates are at the front line of the corona war wherever they are posted, and they are helping to a great extent in fighting the corona war. Students are the basis on which this institution stands. He further added that public health measures like social distancing, wearing masks, and sanitization should be thoroughly managed in the population to contain the disease. The basis of health management is public health. Suddenly the demand for health managers has gone up tremendously. In the last six months, we got to know many things about this novel coronavirus, and we are continuously fighting with it.

The booklet highlights the emergence of COVID-19; its control and prevention, measures of home isolation, quarantine, workplace; COVID-19 guidelines for home isolation, domestic and international travels, and workplace setting. It also talks in detail where India stands in this global fight. The book was compiled after extensive research by IHMR University.

“In this booklet, we have outlined some of the revised guidelines suggested by the government of India and WHO. It talks about the various aspects of COVID-19 right from magnitude to its characteristics. We all know that the spread of this infection can be prevented if we adhere to certain guidelines like washing hands frequently, avoiding poorly ventilated places, and large gatherings. These guidelines keep on altering, and it is challenging to keep oneself updated. This book contains the summarized and updated guidelines and information on this disease in one document. Since the last 35 years of this institution’s existence, we are contributing to nation-building through all our efforts to improve the standard of health throughout the population of our country. As a higher education institution, we have our role very clearly defined. Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji is a BLOCKBUSTER on satellite & records over 1.2 crore impressions

The Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn introduced one of the finest filmmakers of our times, Om Raut into the movies with Om’s ambitious directorial debut in Hindi, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior earlier this year. The magnificent period drama which chronicles the life of the Maratha warrior Tanhaji Malhusare was mounted on a large canvas and turned out to be the biggest money-spinner for the team. While it received rave reviews from the critics and audiences alike, the film also went on to gatecrash several pre-existing box office records.

The movie became Ajay Devgn’s highest grosser till date and was the first 200 crore film of 2020. Along with that, Om’s finesse in bringing the whole set-up and period to life, with his style of storytelling and a keen sense of detailing, made Tanhaji a visual delight and a masterpiece. It was a VFX heavy film and was shot completely indoors. Ajay stood behind Om like a rock while the filmmaker worked on the pre-production for two years. Ajay even decided to co-produce the film with Bhushan Kumar and T- Series.

While many such big extravaganzas fail to set the satellite on fire, on its TV premiere, the entire Tanhaji team was in for a huge surprise. On its satellite premiere, a few weeks ago, the Ajay Devgn-Kajol starrer shattered many records, crossing over 1.2 crore impressions on television. Not just that, the film was showcased again on Independence Day and is expected to do even better in its second satellite sitting. The trade pundits are expecting impressions of over 1.5 crores just from the I-Day showcase on TV. With that, the film will have managed almost 3 crore impressions in just two telecasts and that’s commendable. For many big ticket films, 3 crores is their lifetime satellite impression, something which Ajay and Om have managed only with two sittings. Now, if that isn’t incredible, what is?

MLA Rais Shaikh addresses the grievances of the youth with his unique campaign #EkDinKaMLA

As the MLA of Bhiwandi East, a suburb in Mumbai, seasoned politician Rais Shaikh has been working actively towards addressing and working towards solving the issues pertaining to the residents in his constituency. Rais Shaikh, who is a member of the Samajwadi Party, has been lauded for all the work he has done towards the upliftment of the people in his constituency. He had always had a firm belief in the fact that the youth of the country plays an important role in taking it forward. He had always closely interacted with the youth in his constituency and addressed their grievances.

Recently, Rais Shaikh, who is quite active on social media, organised a contest called ‘Ek Din Ka MLA’. Under this contest, his followers on social media were asked as to “What they would do if they got the opportunity to become an MLA for the day.”

The contest drew the attention of a large number of youngsters who talked about the things they would do or the changes they would like to bring if they got to assume power and authority for a day. Nine winners were selected and as promised, they got the chance to interact with Rais in a live session on his Instagram feed.

Talking about the same, Rais says, “It was great interacting with all the youngsters during the live session. Most people who participated chipped in with some great ideas but I liked the ideas and comments shared by these nine individuals to be the best. While interacting with them, I got to know about their aspirations and made a note of all the valuable suggestions they came up with to bring about some positive changes in Bhiwandi East and the society, in general. We often tend to undermine the opinion of young people and that is a very wrong thing to do. Youth signifies change and energy. They are the future of any society and country. We must listen to them and converse with them in a language they understand.”

The selection of the winners based on the kind of ideas they shared. The contest #EkDinKaMLA was organised and digitally managed by Sunil Gupta and Rima Mishra from the digital marketing agency Media Tribe.

“There was absolutely no bias in the contest. The winners were chosen based on merit. I am a member of the Samajwadi Party but a few of the participants, whom I interacted with, were affiliated to political parties like NCP and Shiv Sena. There was a lawyer, a student, a social activist and several other kinds of people. It was wonderful to speak to each of them and I hope to do another live session soon to delve further into the minds and aspirations of the youth”, Rais Shaikh states.
