79th National Garment Fair by CMAI in Mumbai Inaugurated by Seerna Rajamouli, of R S Brothers, South India’s leading Retail Group

Mumbai, July 24, 2024: The 79th National Garment Fair (NGF) 2024 organised by the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI), was inaugurated by Seerna Rajamouli of R S Brothers, South India’s leading Retail Group on 23rd July in the august presence of industry leaders, apparel manufacturers, retailers, distributors and other industry members at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon and Jio World Convention Centre, BKC.

79th NGF is showcasing more than 1300 apparel brands within an expansive 1 million square feet of exhibition space spread across two venues – Men’s Wear, Women’s Wear and Accessories at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon, and Kids Wear at the Jio Convention Centre, BKC over the next four days from 23rd to 26th July 2024 featuring a diverse range for collections for the largest assembly of retailers and distributors from across India.

CMAI dignitaries present at the inauguration included, Rajesh Masand – President, Rohit Munjal -Vice President & Chairman-NGF, Santosh Katariya – Hon. General Secretary, Ankur Gadia – Hon. NRF 2024: Retail’s Big Show Asia Pacific Concludes with Stellar Attendance and Industry Participation

SINGAPORE, June 18, 2024 — The inaugural NRF 2024: Retail’s Big Show Asia Pacific, organised by the National Retail Federation (NRF) in the U.S. and global event organiser Comexposium, successfully wrapped up with stellar attendance and a resounding impact on the future of retail. Held at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore on June 11-13, the three-day event attracted over 7,000 registrations and participation from 238 exhibitors from across Asia Pacific and the globe.

Themed “Fast Track Your Success”, NRF 2024: Retail’s Big Show Asia Pacific featured more than 100 speakers across 60 sessions, including keynotes, panel discussions, special programmes and tours, addressing the latest trends, technologies, and strategies transforming the retail landscape in Asia Pacific.

First time ever, entrepreneurs from skill ecosystem honoured as guests at Republic Day celebration

Bengaluru, January 27, 2024– Aligned with the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri. Narendra Modi to make Bharat a nation of job creators, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Minister of Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India interacted with over 100 entrepreneurs who have been trained under various skill development institutions like National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) and Skill India’s flagship scheme— Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY). “This is the first time ever that entrepreneurs from the skill ecosystem are accorded the honor of being guests at the Republic Day celebrations, a testament to the visionary leadership of Hon’ble PM”, said Shri Dharmendra Pradhan.

Shri. Nirmaljit Singh Kalsi, President, National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET), Shri. A few entrepreneurs were also invited on stage to share their experiences, talk about the challenges and elaborate on how with proper skill training under the Skill India Mission, they were able to convert their trials into opportunities. Champions like Shital Tamang, a visionary female entrepreneur from Upper Gom, South Sikkim, is reshaping the country’s growth trajectory through her venture- Sikkim Handloom and Handicrafts. With 20 employees under her leadership, Tamang’s commitment echoes in changing lives—a true testament to her entrepreneurial spirit.

Likewise, the bold steps taken by entrepreneurs such as Indrajit Sadhukhan were applauded, who established a flourishing business by doing a course in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning in 2020, serving as an inspiration to aspiring entrepreneurs. Amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Sanjeet showcased exceptional resilience and determination, founding Shree Electrical in 2021, attaining success through skill development. An inspiring story is also of Jyotirmayee Sahu, a female entrepreneur hailing from Odisha. A graduate with a proactive approach towards self-empowerment, pursued a transformative course in Mushroom Grower Entrepreneurship and embarked on a remarkable journey into mushroom cultivation. Jyotirmayee’s startup flourished within a span of six months and achieved remarkable success.

Driven by the vision to make entrepreneurial ecosystem more outcome-driven, accessible, and holistic in its approach along with a focus on new-age, industry 4.0 and advanced technologies, several schemes are being introduced to equip entrepreneurs, students and other beneficiaries with relevant knowledge and skills that align with the rapidly evolving needs of the industries. To achieve this, schemes like PM Vishwakarma and a comprehensive digital platform – Skill India Digital (SID) have been launched to bridge the academia and industry gap and develop a range of entrepreneurial skills such as leadership, creative thinking, teamwork and business growth to transition India from 3rd largest to number one start-up ecosystem over the next few years.

The minister also appreciated and encouraged the entrepreneurs for undertaking vocational training, heralding a new dawn in skill development and entrepreneurship ecosystem in India. Entrepreneurs hailing from diverse corners of the nation including states like Odisha, Kerala, Sikkim, Manipur, Delhi, West Bengal, Telangana, and beyond converged the event and are attending the Republic Day Parade today. They all represent several industries like beauty & wellness, handmade, beauty therapist, tailor, sewing machine operator, and computer operator.

In recognizing that skilling India’s youth is instrumental for the startup ecosystem, MSDE’s initiatives are poised to create a conducive environment for growth, fuelling job creation, productivity, and efficiency for the betterment of society.

PIAGGIO GROUP: michele colaninno appointed president of acem, the european association of motorcycle manufacturers

Michele Colaninno, Chief Executive of global strategy, product, marketing and innovation of the Piaggio Group (PIA.MI), founder and Chair of Piaggio Fast Forward, the US company specialising in robotics, has been appointed President of ACEM (Association des Constructeurs Européens de Motocycles), the European motorcycle industry association based in Brussels, to which all the world motorcycle and scooter groups belong.

“As new ACEM President, I am very grateful to the other motorcycle manufacturers for trusting the Piaggio Group in this prestigious and challenging role that I will carry out with the greatest commitment,” commented Michele Colaninno. “I look forward to working with all members of the association promoting our priorities described in Vision 2030+, the ACEM’s strategy document to respond to future mobility needs in an increasingly sustainable world. In addition to his positions in the Piaggio Group, Michele Colaninno, who was born in 1976, is Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer of the Immsi Group, an industrial holding active in the financial, real estate and industrial sectors listed on the Milan Stock Exchange (IMS.MI), with revenues of more than 1.7 billion euro.

Michele Colaninno’s appointment to the presidency of ACEM coincides with the restructuring of the association, which has also named three Vice-Presidents: Stefan Pierer (CEO of KTM AG), Markus Schramm (Head of BMW Motorrad) and Eric de Seynes (President of Yamaha Motor Europe N.V.).

Course5 Intelligence Appoints Nitesh Jain as President & Chief Operating Officer

Data analytics and insights company, Course5 Intelligence, has appointed Nitesh Jain as its President & Chief Operating Officer. Mr Jain will be responsible for managing global revenue, sales, delivery, and solution & Intellectual Property (IP) strategy at Course5.

He will be working closely with Course5’s CEO, Ashwin Mittal, and the Company’s other executive leadership on corporate development and go-to-market strategy.

Nitesh has over 24 years of global work experience with a proven track record in delivering data-driven analytics services, IT Services, and digital solutions across a diverse set of industries.

Nitesh was the founding leader of Wipro’s Advanced Analytics and Data Science practice which grew from inception in 2005 to a substantial practice by 2014.

In his last role during a 19-year stint at Wipro, he served as Vice President & Business Head for the UK & Ireland cluster.

On Nitesh’s appointment, Ashwin Mittal, Chairman, MD and CEO of Course5 Intelligence, said, “Nitesh will bring a strong pedigree of experience to drive our growth agenda. Meanwhile, the company said they plan to grow organically through increased share-of-wallet with existing clients and new clients. The company has provided services to four of the seven largest companies in the world by market capitalization as of November 30, 2021, four out of the top ten pharmaceutical companies in terms of net revenue in 2020, and two out of the five largest CPG companies in terms of net revenue in 2020. For the year ended March 2021, 67.19% of the revenue came from clients that are either Fortune 500 or Forbes 2000 including Microsoft, Lenovo, and Colgate-Palmolive Company.

Course5 is also looking at inorganic growth through mergers and acquisitions (M&A) by acquiring companies whose vision aligns with its strengths and who bring complementary capabilities and IP and enable the Company to expand its business with existing and new clients.

Course5 reported total revenue of Rs 247.19 crore for the financial year ended March 2021. Course5 has reported strong financial numbers for the six months ended September 2021. The company posted a 28.03% jump in revenue from operations with Rs 143.67 crore revenue in the six months ended September 2021 as against Rs 112.21 crore in the same period the previous year.

The company’s net profit surged 110% to Rs. 26.82 crore for six months ended September 2021 from Rs 12.79 crore in the same period last year.

IIHMR Organized its Silver Jubilee Reunion of the First batch 1996-1998

Jaipur: The first batch of IIHMR University, Jaipur (1996-98), celebrated their Silver Jubilee by reuniting at the IIHMR University campus, Jaipur on November 28, 2021. The reunion of the batch of 1996 was planned to celebrate the success stories of the former students of the prestigious institution IIHMR University. KL Deemed-to-be University awarded All India 2nd prize by AICTE, the Clean and Smart Campus Award 2020 for its commitment to sustainability

The role between the teacher and the students has to be played from both sides, the student must reach out to their teacher when needed and the teacher must be willing to guide their students. Most important is to create a culture of learning.
