Bengaluru, 18th January 2023: The 13th Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad concluded after three days, with over 10,000 students from all across India in attendance. Veteran politician and former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri. Shivraj Singh Chouhan was the guest of honour for the finale of the three-day conclave along with the senior scientist Dr. Vijay Bhatkar and Founder of Loksatta Movement Dr. Jayprakash Narayan.

The third and final day of the student parliament witnessed some thought-provoking ideas from learned speakers like Missile Lady of India Dr. Tessy Thomas and Rajyasabha MP Manoj Kumar Jha who discussed pertinent issues, such as the Women’s Safety and Caste Census.

In the concluding remarks, Senior BJP Leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan appealed to students to join Politics by saying, “For a democracy to flourish young, educated and socially aware people need to join politics. Politics can be instrumental in changing the lives of the marginal classes of society. It allows you to perform your duty towards the nation at a larger scale. There are many problems which are yet to be fixed. You have to work for that.”

While talking about women’s safety, Dr. Tessy Thomas said, “Every human being is born from the womb of a mother, so women must be respected. If we start respecting women, then everything else will fall in line. Also, Education is a prime differentiating factor. We must design our curriculum in a manner that will provide self-defence lessons to our girls.”

MIT-WPU’s Executive President Rahul Karad expressed his gratitude. “I am very grateful to every person who attended this event and made it a grand success. Market-Ready Students: Opting for a Minor in Computer Engineering

To inculcate industry-relevant skillsets through their BTech programs, the MIT-WPU Faculty of Engineering & Technology is also introducing the option to opt for a minor in Computer Engineering along with pursuing their major in their chosen BTech specialization. This will further bridge the gap between industry and academia and eligible students will gain an edge over their peers and will graduate with expertise in two different disciplines.

Speaking on this remarkable change in the curriculum, Prof Dr Prasad D Khandekar, Dean, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, MIT World Peace University, said, “In order to impart more knowledge and expose our students towards evolving skills for future applications, we are offering the minor in Computer Engineering (CE) at the BTech level. All interested and eligible students of all the BTech programs and specializations can opt for this minor in CE, excluding the students admitted in CE of course. The students can take up the minor after the successful completion of their first year, subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria.”

Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech Admissions

The eligibility criteria for students to apply for the B.Tech program is that the candidates should have passed 10 + 2 in science from any statutory board with a minimum of 50 % marks (for open category) and 45% marks (for reserved category) in total as well as in PCM (Physics-Chemistry-Mathematics).

Students from other boards are also eligible to apply. A valid score in MHT–CET 2021 (for Maharashtra Domicile Candidates) and/or JEE (Mains) 2021 for All India Candidates is required and/or WPU MEET (MIT Engineering Entrance Test) – 2021.

Hyderabad: MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU) has added another feather to its cap and has become India’s first university to offer Blockchain-anchored digital degrees and diplomas to its students. MIT-WPU has signed a partnership agreement with CertOnce to implement its platform to offer Blockchain-anchored digital degrees and diplomas to over 2,568 students across programs from this year.

This includes students from the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Commerce & Economics (PG), Faculty of Science (PG), Faculty of Management (UG and PG), Faculty of Education (UG and PG), Faculty of Governance (UG and PG), Faculty of Pharmacy (PG) and Faculty of Liberal Arts, Commerce & Science (UG). The budget aims at the overall economical revival with a major thrust on infrastructure, healthcare and agriculture along with other sectors. The decision to introduce IND-SAT to invite Asian and African students to study, will make India the preferred destination for education. It will also introduce more diversity amongst the student population. Introducing FDIs in the education sector will further help ramp up this sector and help meet global standards. Pune: The World Health Parliament (WHP) 2021, a four-day virtual conference organised by MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU), the Vishwaraj Hospital and the MIT-WPU School of Pharmacy, concluded on an optimistic note. The conference was organised from 21st to 24th January 2021 and witnessed more than 66 speakers in 10 sessions and was attended by more than 7,588 participants.

MIT World Peace University, which is India’s 3rd best private university and delivers holistic value-based education, organised a conference with the goal of bringing together important stakeholders to deliberate on important healthcare topics, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic that hit us last year. The challenges faced by the healthcare ecosystem and administrators in the face of this pandemic were unprecedented. It was an insightful discussion where experts exchanged views on what went right and what could have been done better. Important stakeholders including doctors, policymakers, the pharmaceutical industry and the general public were a part of the discussion and highlighted the need for a self-reliant medical infrastructure in the country.

This year’s theme was Pioneering Disruptive Reforms in the Healthcare Ecosystem and Atmanirbhar Bharat which covered different topics like India’s response to COVID-19, Pitfalls and Perils in Healthcare Sector in India, Disruptive Reforms in Medical Education, improving capability and reach of Paramedic Services, Role of Public and Private sectors etc. The conference also discussed various topics, such as Atmanirbhar health system in India, Medical Research, Global experience and Regulatory reforms in the health sector. The discussion was insightful and the need to scale up the healthcare system with the help of newer technical innovations was highlighted.

Speaking at the forum Shri. Rajesh Tope – Minister of Health, Govt. of Maharashtra, said, “I would like to compliment MIT World Peace University for organizing this relevant program to discuss with the stakeholders to overhaul the healthcare ecosystem. I express my sincere gratitude to all the COVID warriors and I’m proud to acknowledge that Maharashtra now is in a much more comfortable state – active cases are less and recovery rates have improved drastically. We need to keep following the sanitization, masking and social distancing norms.”

He further added, “We were in a very challenging situation with one of the highest rates in India – numbers were exponentially increasing in Maharashtra and the number of beds in our hospitals was very less. We took steps that many states did not follow. We collaborated with the private sector players and would like to thank them for their cooperation during the pandemic. I would like to thank all the private players who really cooperated in this pandemic situation. Secondly, the affordability of this treatment was also a challenge – we were given a cap on the bills. The testing procedure also became affordable. Even other medical procedures such as CT scans and masks were capped with an affordable price, keeping in mind the poor and economically backward people. The virus was contained even in Dharavi, the largest slum in Asia inhabiting about 20 lakh people. I truly salute our healthcare workers who helped us in containing this virus.”

Speaking about the new vaccine, he shared, “The vaccine has come – we have vaccinated more than a lakh in just four days and are vaccinating more than 25,000 people in just a day following the guidelines of the Government of India. I would like to appeal to everyone and ask them to be optimistic about the vaccination and request them to get vaccinated on their terms.”

The global pandemic has generated the need for a self-reliant healthcare infrastructure system in the country. The concept behind this year’s World Health Parliament was to create a forum where stakeholders could come together to discuss, deliberate, resolve and design strategies to change the country’s healthcare ecosystem.”

Dr. Sanjay Oak, Chairman of Taskforce for COVID-19, Govt. of Maharashtra, said, “I am delighted that MIT-WPU has organised a global conference on public health and education to encourage research and innovation in the healthcare sector. Today, a completely revolutionary approach, supported by strong governance and regulatory reforms, is required to make the country ‘Atmanirbhar’ in the healthcare sector. A fundamental transformation of the healthcare environment is required, beginning with research in medical education, technological intervention and the healthcare delivery system. Also, research in the area of medicine needs disruptive reforms and the ecosystem needs to be robust for the healthcare facility to be affordable and accessible to the citizens.”

New Delhi: MIT World Peace University today announced the 2nd National Women’s Parliament 2021 with an objective to promote the social, political and economic empowerment of women. The four-day virtual conference will have nine sessions from 11th to 14th January 2021 and the theme of the conference will be “Women in Leadership 4.0: Power, Progress & Change”.

This is the second edition of the conference, and this year’s theme has been formulated with the aim of promoting the social, political and economic empowerment of women across all strata of society and encouraging interaction between women of diverse backgrounds. NWP is a window for young women to explore their true potential by making a canvas available where they can leave their footprints.

The virtual conference will witness dignitaries like Hon’ble Sushree Debasree Chaudhuri – Union Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Govt. of India, Smt. Dr. Shaileshri Haridas, Dean – Commerce, Economics & Law, MIT World Peace University, said, “Women face many political, socio-economic, ideological and psychological challenges. The objective of the National Women’s Parliament is to provide a forum for women of diverse backgrounds to illustrate and debate gender-specific issues. Women from politics, the social sector, education, sports, corporate, media, the arts and culture, the judiciary and young ambitious girls come together to stage their experiences, share expertise and study in the field of women’s social economic and political empowerment.

The 1st National Women’s Parliament had become the world’s largest convention to connect over 18,000 socio-politically sensitive young girls/ladies with over 200 Women Legislators, over 50 Women Members of Parliament, and over 200 Social & Corporate women leaders of India and overseas at Amaravati (AP). It had the support of dignitaries including Chairman – Dr. Kodela Siva Prasada Rao, Hon’ble Speaker, Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly; Chief Patron – Shri. Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Andhra Pradesh; Chief Guest – Shri. M Venkaiah Naidu, Hon’ble Minister of Information & Broadcasting, Rural Development, and Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, Government of India and Special Guest of Honour – H. H. Dalai Lama, Noble Peace Laureate and Spiritual Guru.

In addition to the session, prestigious awards are to be presented to Desired Women from the fields of Corporate Leadership, NGOs, Political Leadership, Corporate Governance, Creativity/Media/Film, Sport, Research & Innovation and Spirituality.
