Innovation and Inspiration: Hyderabad’s Student Entrepreneurship Summit

Hyderabad, June 28th, 2024…..The biggest student entrepreneurial conference of its kind in India, TiE’s TYE Global Conference 2024: Empowering Young Entrepreneurs, held at IIIT-Hyderabad, concluded in Hyderabad. The three-day Young Entrepreneurs (TYE) Global Conference 2024 was hosted by The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) from June 19 to 21st. Over 300 Students Across India Participated in the TYE Global Conference 2024.

Disclosing this in a press note issued in the city today, TiE Hyderabad said, the conference was especially notable as it coincided with the 25th anniversary of TiE Hyderabad. The conference also marked the first-ever dual semi-finals held in both Hyderabad and Silicon Valley, underscoring TYE’s global commitment to youth entrepreneurship.

The Conference was aimed to inspire and instill the spirit of entrepreneurship among students in an era where entrepreneurship is becoming increasingly prominent. With over 582 million entrepreneurs globally and rapid growth expected in the coming years, this initiative is more relevant than ever.

The conference provided students from classes 9 to 12 with unparalleled opportunities to network with accomplished business leaders and aspiring young entrepreneurs from across India.

The event featured a rich array of activities, including keynotes from renowned entrepreneurs, masterclasses, competition tracks, a Maker Faire, startup showcases, industry tours, and more. Over 25 teams from around the world competed in the global competition, who were winners earlier in the competitions held in their respective regions, demonstrating their innovative ideas and entrepreneurial spirit

Accomplished business leaders from across the globe, such as Phanindra Sama, Founder of redBus, Murali Bukkapatnam, Global Vice Chairman of TiE Global Board of Trustees, Sri Charan Lakkaraju, Founder/CEO of StudentTribe, attended the event to provide insightful keynotes relating to entrepreneurship.

A notable achievement was by a team from India called V Sign, which developed gloves that translate sign language into speech and won the runner-up position in the competition.

Uday Startup Investment Program Fostering Entrepreneurship In Jammu & Kashmir

In a significant development, the Uday Startup Investment Program, organized by M/s SCHEAM India and FICCI FLO JK in association with Department of Commerce & Industry, Government of Jammu & Kashmir. The program is held at MIET, Jammu and has provided a platform for promoting startup culture and entrepreneurship in the Jammu & Kashmir region. The event featured an address by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Hon’ble MoS (Independent Charge) – Ministry of Science and Technology, and Minister of State for Prime Minister’s Office; Mr. Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to Hon’ble LG Jammu & Kashmir was the Chief Guest. The event received support from investment partner LetsVenture and other esteemed event partners.

Key Panel Discussion and Address

A panel discussion held during the event included several distinguished panelists, such as Mr. Punati Shridhar IFS, Chairman, Bamboo Society of India and External Monitor, Central Vigilance Commission, Govt. of India, Mr. Arun Kumar Manhas, Director, Department of Commerce & Industry, Mr. Khalid Jahangir, MD, JKTPO, Mr. G. Velladurai, Joint Director, Department of MSME, Govt. of India, Mr. Vikrant Dogra, Vikrant Dogra, Chairman,
Jammu & Kashmir Dairy cooperative federation limited (JKDCF) and Mr. Nikhil Gowda Kedambadi, who shared valuable insights into the startup ecosystem and entrepreneurship development in the region.

The virtual address by Dr. Jitendra Singh emphasized the government’s commitment to promoting the startup culture in J&K and the need for stakeholders and students to seize the funding opportunities available. Mr. Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar presented startup awards to four prominent tech startups with roots in J&K and commended the organizers for promoting grassroots innovation and entrepreneurship in the region.

Startup Ideation Competition

The event also featured a startup ideation competition for school and college students. The winners of the competition were felicitated with cash prizes and certificates by Mr. R.R. Bhatnagar, highlighting the focus on nurturing young entrepreneurial talent in the region.

Our education system has always aspired to empower young people to build successful & inspiring careers. Part 1 deals with empowering young students with entrepreneurship skills and part 2 offers Entrepreneur for Kids Program for fourth graders and above alongside offering Young Entrepreneurship Program for middle and high school students. Their program covers various aspects of entrepreneurship through experiential learning.

4. Bornpreneur

Bornpreneur provides one of a kind after-school enrichment program to kids. Their program is designed to engage kids in entrepreneurial thinking and build them the future leaders in the industry. BornProdigy, BornToHire, and BornCEO are their 3 programs offering business and entrepreneurial education. Through the case study based program, kids learn business strategies and entrepreneurship skills. The experiential learning process helps kids start their own business in a fun and productive manner.

5. Clever Harvey

Clever Harvey is an educational initiative established by Ivy League and aims to guide young school students aged from 13 to 16 years to bridge the gap between academic learning and the real world.

The platform is designed by IIM graduates for students from Class 8th to Class 12th. The platform launched its India’s first exclusive 10-day online Junior MBA program on 6 April 2020. Through this, Clever Harvey enables each student to master critical thinking skills, commercial acumen, and discover endless career possibilities for the future. Few tracks available in the Junior MBA program are the Junior CMO, Junior CEO, and Junior CTO.

Moneycontrol and Inflection Point Ventures collaborate to launch ‘Pitch Right’, a competitive initiative for high potential startups to secure funding

In a bid to encourage a culture of entrepreneurship and start-up in the country, moneycontrol, one of India’s leading financial news platforms and Inflection Point Ventures, one of India’s largest and most active angel platforms, have come together to launch Pitch Right, a competitive initiative for high potential startups to secure funding. Through the platform, the two industry pioneers will identify promising startups that are building innovative solutions and help them grow and succeed in the current challenging environment.

Kick-starting the registration, eligible participants can submit their entries till November 8. The platform will provide a chance to early-stage startups to showcase their idea and potential to top VCs, successful founders and leading Angels of India. Based on that, the jury will select one winner who will receive INR 50 lakh in funding from IPV on the finale, scheduled for 5th December 2020. The identified and shortlisted startups will be mentored and given access to a widespread network of industry professionals and luminaries.

Amway India promotes the spirit of entrepreneurship with the launch of project Nari Shakti

The discussion focused on direct selling being a feasible option for women to become financially independent while maintaining work-life balance. The mentors present at the virtual panel discussion shared personal experiences and success stories to inspire women to grow and succeed.
