Education is important for the overall development of the country and women’s empowerment. Ravi Boseraju, the state youth leader of the Congress released the poster of the ongoing education awareness campaign “Complete Education for the Good of the Country” with the message that if girls are educated, the country will become rich.

In today’s world, education is essential if the youth are to live a life of equality, courage, and self-reliance. As the saying goes, “If a woman learns, a school is opened”, if a woman is educated, she will try to build an equal society by correcting the vicissitudes of the society.

He said that the women’s empowerment program is important by creating awareness about the importance of women’s education in rural areas through campaigns.

On this occasion campaign organizer KP Anil Kumar, municipal council members Timma Ruddy, Govinda Ruddy Uppet, Janardhan Hallibenchi, Mallesha, Sharanbasavaraddy, Shastri, Manikantha Khanapur, Kira, and many others were present.

Hyderabad, June 28th, 2024…..The biggest student entrepreneurial conference of its kind in India, TiE’s TYE Global Conference 2024: Empowering Young Entrepreneurs, held at IIIT-Hyderabad, concluded in Hyderabad. The three-day Young Entrepreneurs (TYE) Global Conference 2024 was hosted by The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) from June 19 to 21st. Over 300 Students Across India Participated in the TYE Global Conference 2024.

Disclosing this in a press note issued in the city today, TiE Hyderabad said, the conference was especially notable as it coincided with the 25th anniversary of TiE Hyderabad. The conference also marked the first-ever dual semi-finals held in both Hyderabad and Silicon Valley, underscoring TYE’s global commitment to youth entrepreneurship.

The Conference was aimed to inspire and instill the spirit of entrepreneurship among students in an era where entrepreneurship is becoming increasingly prominent. With over 582 million entrepreneurs globally and rapid growth expected in the coming years, this initiative is more relevant than ever.

The conference provided students from classes 9 to 12 with unparalleled opportunities to network with accomplished business leaders and aspiring young entrepreneurs from across India.

The event featured a rich array of activities, including keynotes from renowned entrepreneurs, masterclasses, competition tracks, a Maker Faire, startup showcases, industry tours, and more. Over 25 teams from around the world competed in the global competition, who were winners earlier in the competitions held in their respective regions, demonstrating their innovative ideas and entrepreneurial spirit

Accomplished business leaders from across the globe, such as Phanindra Sama, Founder of redBus, Murali Bukkapatnam, Global Vice Chairman of TiE Global Board of Trustees, Sri Charan Lakkaraju, Founder/CEO of StudentTribe, attended the event to provide insightful keynotes relating to entrepreneurship.

A notable achievement was by a team from India called V Sign, which developed gloves that translate sign language into speech and won the runner-up position in the competition.

Bengaluru, June 18, 2024: Marvell, in collaboration with NGO partner United Way Bengaluru (UWBe), is driving an impactful intervention, ‘Rural Rising’, an integrated rural development program, in the Chikkaballapura District of Karnataka. The program is designed to meet the Mission Anthodya and Human Development Index (HDI) indicators, validated through an in-depth needs assessment in collaboration with local authorities and community members.

This intervention addresses fundamental needs across key thematic areas, including education, health and well-being, safe drinking water, and renewable energy in the Guluru Gram Panchayat.

Under the initiative, an ambulance is provided to Bagepalli Taluk Govt. Hospital, which caters to a catchment population of 1,20,000+ people and lacked a dedicated ambulance. Two new Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) have been constructed alongside the setting up of kitchen gardens and provisioning of Teaching and Learning Materials (TLMs) in the AWCs. Based on the need, a government school has been strengthened through refurbishment support, making the environment conducive to learning.

To address the need for a functional toilet facility, a new toilet has been constructed and an incinerator has been provided to a government school. Additionally, the initiative focuses on the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) component, particularly for raising awareness about menstrual health and hygiene among female students. Sanitary napkins have been distributed in five schools.

To ensure the availability of safe drinking water, three water purifier units have been installed in Anjinapura and Laxman Thanda villages, and at a government school, benefiting numerous households and students. In commitment to renewable energy, 150 solar streetlights have been successfully installed at strategic locations across the gram panchayat.

The intervention has reached over 5,285 direct beneficiaries and numerous indirect beneficiaries.

Today marked a significant day as key stakeholders involved in the initiative came together to officially announce the launch of the intervention. Key delegates present included Mr. Navin Bishnoi, Marvell India Country Manager, Ms. Bharathi Kanuj, Marvell India CSR Head and Mr. Ganesh Karnatakam, Marvell India Finance Controller, Sriram Ananthanarayanan UWBe Director or Projects, Varun Kumar UWBe Corporate Relations, Pravin Kumar UWBe Rural Projects Lead.

The educational system of a country is the root of development. A well-developed education system empowers the youth to join the workforce and contribute towards adding value to the economy. India has the world’s second-largest education system and the nation is constantly chasing to become the foremost. Globally, around 220 million students pursuing higher education have been affected due to the pandemic disruption. Campus doors had closed and the continuous cancellation of semester exams resulted in learning loss and exam delays.

India’s traditional learning methods maintained a stronghold but the pandemic has battered the education systems around the world. According to UNICEF, 90% of the world’s student population has been affected due to pandemics.

To fight back the disruption and damage, educational institutes across the country embraced the digital mode of learning and examinations as a solution to fill the void left by traditional education delivery. Now, this has become the “new normal”. With this, digital education in India camecentre stage and is now increasingly getting integrated into the mainstream. Demand for Edu-Tech players has been raised due to increasing e-learning which led to the demand for online examinations. Holding online assessments became one of the challenging subjects when it comes to higher education.

What next?

According to updated statistics by the Union Health Ministry, India has registered a high number of new covid cases in the last few days, and also some new infections have been reported from a few states.

The experts say the increasing number of positive cases can be a knock of the arrival of the fourth wave. In such a situation, the experience of the past two years has prepared us for this.

Is e-learning and online assessment the future?

E-learning has become the future of new India, as Covid-19 has made online examinations become the buzzword. Proctoring is easy to customize and also eliminates the chances of malpractice and cheating during examination.

Challenges?

Indian internet infrastructure is still far from ready to support the shift. According to a survey done by the Indian Government, only 24 per cent of households have access to the internet. In rural India, the numbers are far lower, with only 4 per cent of households having access. According to the reports of NITI Aayog (2018), 55,000 villages in India did not have mobile network coverage. A survey done by the ministry of rural development (2017-18) revealed that more than 36 per cent of schools in India operated without electricity.

Bharat net Project: A step forward

As e-learning becomes the “new normal”, the authorities have been taking steps to make the digitization of education accessible and affordable for all. The Union government is banking hugely on the “Bharatnet project”, which aims to provide broadband to 250,000-gram panchayats in the country through the optic fiber to improve connectivity. Broadband connectivity in gram panchayats is expected to help rural children who do not have internet access at home. Besides, building the digital infrastructure and familiarizing students with automated learning and evaluation tools should be prioritized. The fairness of exams will always be questioned and be the concerning part because learning in colleges varies from that in schools.

RBL Bank’s UMEED 1000 Cyclothon donates ₹5.20 crores towards Inclusive Education

RBL Bank’s flagship CSR initiative ‘UMEED 1000’ Cyclothon, a social endeavour to support Inclusive Education, culminated successfully today, having raised funds worth 5.20 crores. 159 cyclists, including 59 RBL Bank employees, collectively covered a distance of 1,14,289 kms. The proceeds of the initiative will be donated to Udbhav RBL School, in Fatehnagar, Hyderabad, a school adopted by the Bank in 2019 and catering to underprivileged children and also to the new school adopted by the Bank for children with special needs under the Udbhav RBL School franchise, in Nallasopara, Maharashtra.

As part of the Bank’s effort to promote Inclusivity, there were multiple cyclothons organized across India, which saw participation from senior bureaucrats and the Indian Army in Bhubaneswar, Mumbai Dabbawalas and RBL Bank employees in Mumbai.

The closing ceremony was presided by the Chief Guest – Rotary International President, Shekhar Mehta, and Guest of Honour – Gautam Gambhir. The Bank also signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) with Rotary on this occasion, to achieve education goals in India and advance the socio-economic interventions undertaken by the Bank.

UMEED 1000 Cyclothon was preceded by a charity challenge, Donate Miles to Educate, that had commenced on October 2, 2021, and continued alongside the main cyclothon. The challenge witnessed employees of RBL Bank and their families walk, run and cycle to donate miles, which were tracked through an App and monetized into funds. A collective distance of 3,66,203 kms was contributed through this challenge.

On the occasion, Rajeev Ahuja, Executive Director, RBL Bank, said, “Education has been largely impacted in the pandemic, especially for the disadvantaged communities. With school dropouts at an all-time high, and many being left out of the sphere of education for multiple reasons, it is our endeavour to provide quality education to all. Vinati Organics and Samhita -CGF to empower 5,380 women in Maharashtra

Maharashtra: Vinati Organics Ltd in partnership with Samhita and Collective Good Foundation has launched HERS (Health, Education, REVIVE, Skilling), a series of initiatives designed to address fundamental issues faced by women in India including education, sanitation, basic hygiene and employability.

As per the World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap Report 2021, the country has now slipped28 places to the 140th position in the index. The pandemic has further impacted livelihoods, putting 4 out of every 10 women out of the workforce. HERS is a step towards bridging this gender gap and will aim to empower 5,380 women across Maharashtra.

As part of the HERS approach, Vinati Organics, Samhita and CGF, have identified some of the primary obstacles to growth and development for girls and women in India. They include low access to education, vulnerability to gender-based violence, low access to digital and financial resources and low labour force participation. Through a series of initiatives, HERS (Health, Education, REVIVE, Skilling) will aim to help women overcome these barriers and support their social and economic growth:

· In-school training program: 3,500 adolescent students (girls and boys) from 8-10th grades and 100 teachers will be empowered through essential life skills and gender sensitisation, with Yuva Mitra as the implementing partner.

· School sanitation and Behaviour Change Campaign: Over30,00 students across 5 schools will be provided with access to safe and sustainable sanitation facilities to promote healthy and hygienic practices. Ecosan Services Foundation is the implementing partner

· Out-of-school employability program: With Head Held High Foundation as the implementing partner, 150 out-of-school young adults (18-30 years) from rural communities will be provided essential employability and life-skills training.

· Scholarship programme: 320 adolescent girls from disadvantaged and rural communities of Maharashtra, studying in 12th grade will be given scholarships to support the completion of higher secondary education. Buddy4Study India Foundation is the implementing partner for this initiative.

Under the HERS series,Vinati Organics has also joined the REVIVE Alliance, an initiative by Samhita-CGF to help restore the livelihoods of informal workers and micro-entrepreneurs affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Vinati Organics has committed to provide returnable grants to 1,500 women farmers, artisans and micro-entrepreneurs (engaged in various occupations ranging from food manufacturing to beauty entrepreneurs, shop owners and many others).
