Greenply launches its short film ‘The Table’ as a part of its festive campaign

National: Greenply Industries Limited, India’s largest interior eco-friendly infrastructure company with over 30 years of experience in manufacturing a comprehensive range of plywood, decorative veneers, flush doors, and other allied product has launched a short film ‘The Table’ as a part of its festive campaign. The film revolves around the emotional connect of a mother with a table at her home and how the table becomes the fulcrum of a family reunion during a festive occasion. The short film stars Dhritiman Chatterjee and Zarina Wahab in the lead. The hashtag of the campaign is #YahanRishteBasteHain.

A piece of furniture is just not a piece of furniture. A bed is a central piece of a bedroom where the love flourish. A dining table is the centre of a family bonding. A study table is a bitter-sweet relation between siblings. Furniture witnesses the growth, shift of generations, they are the part of a family. We keep hosting Diwali dinner on the same dining table year after year. This shows the longevity and the persistence presence of that piece of furniture which just doesn’t remain a piece of furniture.

The film centres around the emotions of a mother and her relationship with a dining table which is there in her family for years. The table has witnessed the growth of their family from a couple to a family to now grandparents. The table symbolizes the feelings of a mother. The mother keeps remi-niscing about the moments. How the table slowly becomes ‘full’ of their expanding family. She rues the fact that how for the last many years the table remains empty as the children have left the nest. Her anguish comes in the form of her demand to her husband to sell off the table as its big in size and their family now is limited to just two of them. Her husband understands the underlying emotion and knows that it’s just an expression of her sadness and she doesn’t mean it. The story revolves around this emo-tional connect of the mother with the table and how the table again becomes the fulcrum of a family reunion on the festive occasion.

Talking about this campaign, Mr Sanidhya Mittal, Joint Managing Director, Greenply Industries Ltd said “Greenply is a brand that has care at its core. The brand acts as a fulcrum of activities in a family. With its durability and quality as core promise, the brand remains with the family for the longest period and slowly becomes the part of a family than just a piece of a furniture. Through this campaign we want to connect emotionally with our audience and bring out the role which our brand plays in the consumers’ life.”

The promotions of the campaign will be led through the digital platforms. Through this campaign Greenply is looking to establish a deeper connect with the audience.

Apollo Hospitals reports first successful use of Intravascular Lithotripsy in India in treatment of severely calcified carotid artery stenosis

Hyderabad: Apollo Hospitals today announced the first successful use of Intravascular Lithotripsy in India to treat a 75-year-old male patient with heavily calcified carotid artery lesions. The patient, who presented with recurrent CVA (cerebrovascular accident) or strokes, was successfully treated by transcarotid arterial revascularisation (TCAR) using Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL). With only a few cases reported from USA and Italy using IVL to treat carotid artery stenosis or narrowing, the achievement by the team of doctors at Apollo Health City, Hyderabad of the first reported use of this technique in India is a milestone in carotid angioplasty and stenting procedures in the country.

Dr. Sangita Reddy, Joint Managing Director, Apollo Hospitals Group said, “At Apollo Hospitals, we are always looking to set new standards of care with advanced medical technology that lets our doctors undertake challenging procedures safely and successfully. The first reported use of IVL in India to treat calcified carotid artery lesions will enable us to treat patients who cannot go in for conventional procedures. It will decrease the risk of procedural complications, providing positive clinical outcomes with reduced risk of future adverse events. It is a testament to the dedication and skill of our doctors that they have continued to focus on treating and saving lives of patients with NCDs even during the pandemic.”

Dr. P C Rath, Sr. Consultant Cardiologist & Director, Cath Lab & Interventional Cardiology, Apollo Health City, Hyderabad said, “The patient presented with recurrent strokes. Upon evaluation, he was found to have a critical stenosis involving the right internal carotid artery. There was also significant calcification of the vessel and a 180o arc of deep wall calcium. This required urgent intervention to open up the vessel since carotid artery stenosis (CAS) is responsible for around 30% of ischemic strokes. The conventional treatment option of carotid endarterectomy, that is, surgical approach to remove plaque from the artery was not recommended due to advanced age and comorbidities that included hypertension and a prior CABG (coronary artery bypass graft surgery). A direct stent implant through the minimally invasive transfemoral carotid artery stenting was also not advisable due to the severely calcified plaque that would prevent proper stent expansion with sub-optimal dilatation of the artery. It was decided to proceed with Intravascular Lithotripsy that combines the combines the calcium-disrupting potential of lithotripsy with the expertise that we hold in use of balloon catheters.”

Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL)works through generating sonic waves, which are sonic pressure waves. This is a novel use of the concept of lithotripsy, that has been safely used for decades to treat kidney stones by safely breaking up the stones. The sonic waves in IVL pass through the soft tissues of the arterial wall lining, and the pulsatile energy safely disruptsthe calcium in the plaques, creating micro-fractures in the calcium. The broken-up calcium allows expansion of the artery at low pressure thus permitting the safe implantation of a stent with minimal trauma to normal arterial tissue and improving the blood flow. The procedure is safer as the calcium fragments resulting from the IVL therapy remain in situ, with a reduced likelihood of breaking off and embolising.

Dr. P C Rath added, “A new tool called Shockwave intravascular lithotripsy that has been recently approved for the treatment of heavily calcified lesions in coronary and lower limb arteries was used to treat the heavy calcification in the carotid artery. While minimal data exists for its use in treating calcified plaques in carotid artery, we decided to proceed with IVL as the patient’s age and co-morbidites would not permit conventional treatment methods. However, the underlying calcium is known to result in suboptimal outcomes following stenting through percutaneous intervention. Aggressive post-dilatation in the carotid region often results in severe bradycardia (slowing down of heart rate) and hypotension (low blood pressure). IVLfacilitated adequate stent expansion and we were able to successfully perform the dilatation with minimal residual stenosis.

Greenply launches its new brand campaign ‘E-0 chuno, Khulke Saans Lo’

Kolkata: Greenply Industries Limited, India’s largest interior eco-friendly infrastructure company with over 30 years of experience in manufacturing a comprehensive range of plywood, decorative veneers, flush doors, and other allied product has launched its brand campaign. The campaign aims to highlight the risk of formaldehyde emission from plywood and showcases Zero Emission (E-0) product range of the company. The TVC campaign has been created by Ogilvy India featuringMr Boman Irani in the lead.

The campaign thought is succinctly captured in the tag line; ‘E-0 chuno, Khulke saans lo’. We have been tossed around in the receding waves of a global pandemic, held hostage to an invisible army hid-ing in the air outside the safe space of our homes. We have guarded ourselves against these unseen outdoor dangers. But have we ever considered the dangers that dwell unnoticed within our homes? That is the question Greenply, wants to ask through the newly launched zero-emission campaign. Through the course of a lyrical banter, the TVC asks the unavoidable question: never mind the dangers outside, who will save you from the dangers inside?

The campaign is designed to raise a pertinent concern about formaldehyde emissions in plywood we use through an engaging, lively story, that drives the message home without sounding preachy or instructional. The aim was to weave a narrative that finds its way to the core message through a relatable analogy wrapped in humour. After all, home is supposed to be a safe space, a mask-free zone. The only thing that stands between you and deep, cleansing breaths is formaldehyde emission. E-0 grade emission compliance made sure that the plywood emits negligible formaldehyde and that its manufacturing facility has an on-site testing mechanism to monitor quality.

Talking about this campaign, Mr Sanidhya Mittal, Joint Managing Director, Greenply Industries Ltd said, “There has been a significant change in the consumer buying pattern. People are more focused on maintaining a clean environment inside their homes as well. The campaign is all about creating awareness on what E-0 emission stands for. The commercial operates in the space of humour to strike a chord with our target audience. With increasing awareness about the harmful consequences of air pollution on human health, consumers today are extremely concerned not only about their external environment but also about the Indoor Air Quality where they live. The rising concern pushed us to come up with this innovation.”

Reflecting on the campaign, Mr Sujoy Roy, Executive Creative Director, Ogilvy said “Musical banter is one of the oldest forms of creative expressions. It makes the intended message more memorable simply by being engaging, lyrical and humorous. We thought that a comic dialogue leading to a conversation on formaldehyde emissions might just be the way to reach out to homeowners, across social, cultural and class identities. We couldn’t think of anyone better than Boman Irani for the role. His presence, not to mention his inimitable brand of humour, adds a touch of domestic familiarity to the campaign

The new campaign transcends its role as product advertisement and becomes a relevant message is-sued in public interest. The communique hopes to initiate new conversations that will ultimately change our perception of safe spaces. Against the assault of invisible enemies inside our living spaces, only a champion can stand. That champion is Greenply Industries Limited, forever forging innovations that serve in the interest of health and well-being.

The first TVC showcases the journey of a writer from humble beginnings, failures to its path of success. The second TVC has been launched to celebrate the spirit of womanhood on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

Self-made individuals are forged in fire. Their achievements bear testament to perseverance in the face of frustrating hardships. They are the objects of our admiration, the subjects of our praise. “‘Khud Bane Ho Toh, Greenply Banta Hain’ is all about encouraging everyone to express themselves and keep pursuing their dream. The campaign narrative embodies the principals of what Greenply stands as a brand. It celebrates every self-made individuals’ zeal to stop at nothing in achieving greatness. Through this campaign we are looking to establish a deeper connect with our audience.” said Mr Subir Palit, Country Head, Sales and Marketing, Greenply Industries Ltd.

That’s why their hope is our hope. The mood of the campaign gets succinctly translated into the familiar Tagore song we hear at the end. The message is clear: walk the solitary path even if no one comes to walk with you.” said Sujoy Roy, Executive Creative Director, Ogilvy India.

Since Greenply is a mirror to human endeavours, the campaign reflects the humanity of the brand, the spirit of resilience that it so identifies with. A series of monologues in the voices of characters who represent individuals whose careers have been born out of struggle and indecisions. The monologues, accompanied by a montage of their struggles, culminate into victory. These are individuals who are recalling their past hardships. The message is simple: never give up. Go forth without hesitation.

Consolidated Performance Highlights

  Particulars (In Rs Cr)

Q3FY21 Q3FY20 Q2FY21 9MFY21 9MFY20
  Revenue from Operations 244.0 244.1 227.1 567.3 764.4
  EBITDA 34.7 32.6 34.0 75.3 97.9
  EBITDA Margin % 14.2% 13.4% 15.0% 13.3% 12.8%
Cash PAT 19.6 15.8 18.2 29.2 47.5

Q3FY21 performance was significantly better sequentially led by the robust growth in ‘Consumer Segment’

o  Consumersegment (excluding meters) continued to grow at a robust pace of 25% YoY to Rs 135 Crores. The growth was primarily driven by the festive season, pick-up in the economic activity and improved consumer sentiment. The revenue share of the Consumer segment stood at 61% during the Q3FY21 as compared to 44% in Q3FY20.

o  The metering business revenue witnessed a growth of 17% in Q3FY21 compared to Q2FY21. However, the performance during the quarter remained subdued as inspections remained lower due to Covid-19 related disruptions. As a result, metering revenue has been deferred to the forthcoming quarters. Meter dispatches are expected to gradually pick-up fromQ4FY21.

Rationalisation of capital expenses and overheads led to an improvement in profitability margins.

o    Despite an increase in the raw material prices during the quarter, rationalisation of overhead expenses helped the company to report an EBITDA of ₹ 34.7 crores (EBITDA Margin of 14.2%) in Q3 FY21, while Cash PAT increased by 24% YoY to ₹ 19.6 crores.

Mr. Gautam SethJoint Managing Director, said“The performance during the Q3FY21 was yet again underpinned by the robust performance of the consumer (B2C) segment, despite the subdued performance in the metering segment. This has helped us to get back to the pre-covid level of revenue and EBITDA. The robust growth in the consumer segment was driven by healthy double-digit growth in the ‘Switchgear’, ‘Lighting’ and ‘Wires and Cables’ categories, which grew by 29%, 18% & 45% YoY, respectively. The metering segment fared well during the quarter sequentially, however, the overall performance remained subdued as dispatches have been deferred to forthcoming quarters due to the pandemic. Even though meter dispatches have remained slow in 9M FY21, we are expecting dispatches to gradually pick-up pace from Q4 FY21 onwards. At present we have a robust order book of Rs 354 Crores boosted by smart meter orders, which comprise over a third of the total meter order book. This ensures us revenue visibility for the near-term. Further looking ahead, we are optimistic about the long-term growth trajectory of the Consumer segment led by a pick-up in the economic activity, improved consumer sentiments and increased government funding. This is ably supported by our enhanced dealer and retail network, effective marketing strategies and product development efforts.

Our various cost rationalisation initiatives have helped us to boost the EBITDA margins.

Looking beyond the short-term challenges in meter segment, we are bullish about the opportunities in the smart metering space as both the public and private power distribution companies increasingly shift focus towards installing smart meters to replace conventional meters. We are very much focused on enhancing our smart meter technological base and become the market leader in the segment. We are expecting a large- scale requirement for smart metering solutions in the coming years and are fully capable and ready to meet the requirement of the industry with our best-in-class metering solutions. Overall, the company is confident of overcoming near-term challenges and create sustainable value for its stakeholder.”
