AVEVA Launches Enhanced Strategy with New Hybrid Cloud Manufacturing Execution System

AVEVA Announces Appointments of Caspar Herzberg as Chief Revenue Officer and Helen Lamprell as General Counsel and Company Secretary

Mumbai, India AVEVA, a global leader in industrial software, driving digital transformation and sustainability, has announced the expansion of its executive leadership team with the appointments of Caspar Herzberg as the company’s new Chief Revenue Officer, and Helen Lamprell, OBE as General Counsel and Company Secretary. The new appointments, in London and Dubai, strengthen AVEVA’s international footprint and digital transformation capabilities at a time when business relies on interconnected solutions for global workforces. Both leaders bring a wealth of global expertise to AVEVA when they join on November 1.

Herzberg has over two decades of international experience within the technology sector. After seven years at Accenture, where he specialized in supply chain optimization and outsourcing, Herzberg spent ten years at Cisco, where he led sales for mega projects in Saudi Arabia, developed the company’s global smart city strategy, and was global managing director for the emerging solutions advisory business before taking on the position of Vice-President Cisco Consulting Services for Asia Pacific, China, and Japan. For the past five years, he has led Schneider Electric’s business across over 80 countries in the Middle East and Africa.

Raised in Egypt, Herzberg has a degree in Arabic and Modern Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Oxford, and an MSc in International Politics from SOAS University of London. He is a Board member of RES4Africa, a non-profit foundation committed to a green energy transition across Africa and is a member of the Advisory Council of the Dubai International Chamber of Commerce.

AVEVA will leverage his deep expertise to lead the global sales organization and to strengthen the capabilities of partners around the world. Herzberg, who is fluent in English, Arabic, French and German, will be based in Dubai.

Lamprell studied law at Cambridge University and has over twenty years’ experience in the fields of legal and external affairs. Over seven years at Linklaters, she advised on a broad range of matters ranging from emerging markets equities to hybrid capital. She then enjoyed an action-packed 18-year stint at the Vodafone Group and Vodafone UK, where she was most recently General Counsel & External Affairs Director and member of the UK Board. She led many of Vodafone’s biggest deals in the UK and globally, including the landmark Verizon Wireless transaction, before switching to fixing the UK operations in Vodafone’s historic home where Helen had a broad remit ranging from security to communications.

Lamprell was awarded an Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2020 New Year’s Honours list for services to business and equality. An advocate for sustainability and diversity, she is currently a non-executive director at the Low Carbon Contracts Company and the Electricity Settlements Company, sister organizations jointly owned by the UK Department for Business Energy & Industrial Strategy. She remains a director of the not-for profit Employer’s Initiative on Domestic Abuse, and a member of the UK government’s Women’s Business Council.

Lamprell will be based in London and will lead AVEVA’s legal and company secretarial function globally as the organization builds on synergies from the recent acquisition of OSIsoft.

85% of Industrial Businesses to Increase Investment in Digital Transformation and Sustainability – AVEVA Survey

Mumbai, India– AVEVA, a global leader in industrial software, driving digital transformation and sustainability, reveals that 85% of businesses plan to increase their investment in digital transformation over the next three years in order to tackle climate change, embrace automation and unlock the performance benefits of advanced technologies. The findings were drawn from an AVEVA-commissioned survey* focused on innovation priorities of senior industry leaders and managers.

AVEVA surveyed over 850 digital transformation experts across industries such as manufacturing including large-scale agribusiness and food and beverage, infrastructure, energy, power and chemical processing. The objective was to understand the different market opportunities, pressures and innovations driving industries to embrace digital operations, using a combination of AI, industrial software and human insight to deliver unprecedented performance.

“Industrial leaders are leveraging advanced analytics and digital innovation to rethink how they design, engineer and operate,” says Ravi Gopinath, Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Cloud Officer, AVEVA. “Bringing together rich, timely and accurate industrial data with the scope and scale of the cloud, smart analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) are empowering industrial teams to collaborate better, operate with agility and elevate what they can achieve. This is set to transform how we all live and work.”

Digital acceleration, driven by the pandemic

Nine out of ten industrial companies see combining advanced technologies such as the industrial internet of things (IIoT), AI and cloud with their teams’ insights, as key to driving better performance in a post-pandemic world. AI and automation are now seen as necessary technologies in order to keep pace with competitors. In China and Germany, more than half (56% and 55% respectively) have made digital transformation their top priority over the coming year, with investments focused on workforce solutions, cyber security, connected worker strategies and cloud.

Tackling Climate Change Through Digital Transformation

The pandemic has increased focus on the need for urgent climate action and the majority of industrial enterprises (90%) cite this as a core action area. Nine in ten (89%) are committed to achieving net-zero carbon emissions across their businesses and to tackling climate change within a five-year time horizon. Indeed, focus on sustainability has become a prerequisite for success in industry, leaders affirmed.

Sustainability-led demands will consequently drive innovation across the value chain, 85% of companies say. These companies are planning to increase visibility and performance assurance to sustainability related metrics as a result. Germany, Austria and Switzerland lead the global race for environment-linked business innovation: 47% in these countries see it as a significant focus, as opposed to 41% worldwide.

About 80% of industrial companies are focused on meeting or exceeding environmental regulations, while 83% say they will prioritize the transition to renewable energy sources. Supporting circularity and recycling within the value chain is important for 83% of customers, led by Latin America (44% of companies).

Vale ranks among the top five largest mining companies in the world.
