Recognising this distinction as acknowledgement of IndiVillage’s substantial impact, CEO Smita Malipatil said, “I am immensely proud of every single employee at IndiVillage and the work we do. India is a vast and fragmented country bursting with potential, but it is also affected by staggering income inequality often exacerbated by the gap between its rural and urban regions. This recognition from IAOP validates our ‘Business for Good’ mission which we are looking to scale significantly across the country. By enabling people from some of the remotest parts of the country to work with global leaders on their technology offerings, we have proven that community development and commercial growth can go hand in hand. I wholeheartedly believe that our model will be a catalyst for change and inspire several other organisations to follow suit.”

The philosophy of impact sourcing ensures that companies can combine commerce, corporate responsibility, and commitment to communities. By furthering progressive employment in rural areas, IndiVillage has impacted over 35,000 people annually and continues to expand at a rapid pace, marking the company as a worthy inclusion and one set for greater honours.

“Doing well by doing good is now more important than ever. Ensuring that disadvantaged populations have access to formal employment and decent work, allowing them to improve their conditions, acquire a career, and thus lift themselves, their families, and their communities out of poverty are the most suitable means to economic growth. I am proud of the work undertaken by IndiVillage and the other organisations who’ve made it to IAOP’s Impact Sourcing Champions Index,” said IAOP CEO Debi Hamill.

Procurement in SAP with New Business Partner Portal by xSuite Group

Ahrensburg, Germany: With its new development for the cloud, the xSuite Group provides SAP user companies with a central platform for performing standardized, digital procure-to-pay processes with suppliers. Purchasing, Accounting and suppliers exchange all data and documents related to procurement via the portal. Automatic transfer of all data and documents from the portal to the SAP system relieves the Purchasing and Accounting departments. The “xSuite Business Partner Portal Sphere” is operated via the SAP Cloud Platform (SCP). The product is geared towards SAP user companies with SAP ERP or SAP S/4HANA in use.

With the new Business Partner Portal of the xSuite Group, the purchasing department can continue working in the SAP environment it is familiar with. Purchase orders are generated and automatically made available to the supplier in the portal. The supplier can independently generate all subsequent documents -order confirmations, shipping notifications, invoices, credit notes – from the purchase order and transfer them back to the Purchasing department via the portal. Alternatively, the supplier can upload these documents In both cases, the Business Partner Portal automatically transfers the documents and data to the customer’s SAP system.

All information and documents are available for the purchasing department directly in the SAP system for processing. For those involved in the purchasing process, this means that documents no longer need to be printed out and mailed. The entire procure-to-pay process is much faster, and errors resulting from switching systems are eliminated.

The Business Partner Portal offers suppliers helpful functions such as the “self-service” option. This means that a new supplier, for example, can enter necessary information such as contact data and bank details himself. A workflow is started, and after release, the master data in the SAP system is stored for the supplier. Suppliers can also update their data this way.

The Business Partner Portal of xSuite also contains a function that enables companies to strengthen their liquidity in a targeted manner:

Via the portal, it is possible for the supplier to offer several payment terms with different discount levels. The purchasing company can accept or discard these discount offers. In addition, they can request a discount offer.

With its new development, the xSuite Group supports SAP’s strategy of bringing its customers into the cloud. In the future, extensions and in-house programming will be compatible with the SAP Cloud Platform (SCP). Since the new xSuite portal was developed for SCP, its compatibility with current and future SAP releases is optimally ensured.

American Camp Association Offers Context on CDC Study and Implications for Back to School

Martinsville, IN: Today’s Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) study of a single summer camp’s Covid-19 infections tells an incomplete story. To better understand summer camp safety in 2020, start with a clear understanding that thousands of camps are successfully operating this summer.

“Camps are at the forefront of child safety during this pandemic,” said Tom Rosenberg, American Camp Association Chief Executive Officer. “When camps consistently use the innovative, multi-layered safety strategy outlined in our Field Guide for Operating Camps in COVID-19 , we see that many of them minimize infections as well as the spread of COVID-19. However, infections increase if people become lax or inconsistent. The most important safety layer is a culture of compliance.”

The American Camp Association (ACA) engaged leading experts to develop educational resources for camps to run safe in-person programming for summer 2020. This included the Field Guide for Camps in COVID-19, developed by an independent and external expert panel of specialists in pediatric medicine, infectious disease management, biological safety, industrial hygiene, organizational design, and more.

The early released version of the CDC study, “SARS-CoV-2 Transmission and Infection Among Attendees of an Overnight Camp — Georgia, June 2020,” only looked at what happened when a single camp did not implement all of the elements of the ACA Field Guide and the CDC’s guidance. “But more than 3,000 day and overnight camps are running in-person programming for children across the US this summer,” shared Rosenberg. “We have so many success stories, from overnight camps who have not had a single infection, to day camps who have safely managed large groups of children every day, to virtual camps who made a profound difference for medically vulnerable children.

By the end of this summer, millions of kids will have benefited from positive and safe experiences at camps. The ACA can now answer:
· What have we learned that we can apply to Kindergarten to Twelfth Grade and after school?
· – What have been parents’ top worries? How have camps met their concerns?
· – As schools decide between in-person classes, or virtual learning, what have camps discovered about the pros and cons of both formats?
· – How will schools and extra-curricular activities need to evolve to help pandemic kids?
· – What sort of programming best counteracts the social, emotional and physical damage to these “pandemic children?”
· – The evolution of children: 9/11 kids, to digital Gen-Zers, to COVID kids
· – Looking ahead to Camp 2021 – What should we expect?

The ACA serves as a leading voice for child development, and will soon have significant data to share. This summer, ACA launched several landmark studies to better understand the impact of COVID-19 on children, families, and camps. Study findings will be available later this fall.

“Perhaps the most important story of Camp 2020 is the least reported story,” said Rosenberg. “Camp directors reported that many children arrived feeling anxious, out of shape or disconnected. They desperately sought – and ultimately found — the belonging, independence and resilience they have needed for months. If schools are going to be successful this fall, they must act on what we’ve learned at camp this summer.”

About American Camp Association:

The American Camp Association® (ACA) is a national organization with more than 12,000 individual members and 3,100 member camps. ACA is committed to collaborating with those who believe in quality camp and outdoor experiences for children, youth, and adults. ACA provides advocacy, evidence-based education and professional development and is the only independent national accrediting body for the organized camp experience. ACA accredits approximately 2,400 diverse U.S. camps, ACA Accreditation provides public evidence of a camp’s voluntary commitment to the health, safety, and overall well-being of campers and staff.
