Thousands Join Launch of Rosatom’s Atoms for Humanity Nuclear Awareness Campaign

Moscow– On April 30, over 3200 people from some 40 countries watched Rosatom’s Atoms for Humanity new nuclear awareness campaign launch event. The project is aimed at demonstrating the importance of nuclear technologies in achieving the UN Sustainable Goals through human-centered stories.

The project launch event Why Humanity Needs Nuclear brought together Polina Lion, Chief Sustainability Officer at Rosatom, Sama Bilbao y León, Director General of the World Nuclear Association, Dr. Maher Aziz, member of the World Energy Council, Ben Heard, founder of the Bright New World and Sergio Orlandi and Head of Central Engineering and Plant Directorate at ITER. Heroes of Atoms for Humanity joined the event to share their experiences participating in the campaign.

The esteemed speakers discussed social, economic and environmental benefits of nuclear technologies and their invaluable contribution to solving the most urgent challenges of today and tomorrow.

“Achieving sustainable development goals is impossible without a sustainable energy source. Nuclear is the only energy source, which is both reliable and low-carbon. It works 24/7, it produces no direct CO2 emissions and leaves almost zero waste behind,” said Polina Lion.

WNA Director General Sama Bilbao y León shared the sentiment.

“Nuclear energy contributes to having reliable, resilient 24/7 energy supply. We are in the middle of this terrible COVID-19 pandemic and we are seeing everyday how essential having access to 24/7 electricity is to cope with this crisis. And of course the fact that nuclear energy is very low-emission technology is going to ensure that we have clean, air clean water and plenty of open space to have health communities,” Bilbao y León stressed.

Sergio Orlandi in turn explained why the success of international cooperation at ITER was important for the future of humanity.

“ITER is something very delicate and very challenging but I really believe that the magnitude of the project motivates us and gives us the capacity to move forward. We know very well that we are at the frontier of new technology, on the frontier of a scientific breakthrough. We know that we are making something historical and beneficial for humanity. We need clean energy for the entire world,” Orlandi said.

Fashion Designers of Delhi amidst CoViD-19

By Shilpi Gupta, CEO & Owner at Surkhab Bespoke

Pandemic along with the economic crisis might have made it difficult but the worst seems to be over

The pandemic brought along with it a number of challenges for the medical sector and the healthcare industry. However, there are other industries such as the fashion, lifestyle, and makeup industry that have received a heavy blow. With the new health guidelines such as sanitization and social distancing, businesses in Delhi already had to do it the hard way when a number of lockdowns and curfews were announced.

Fashion designers in Delhi are witnessing their sales declining each day as most of their stores aren’t allowed to open and the major chunk of their sales is taking place through the online medium. Besides other things, buying online implies changes in consumer habits which are always hard to come by. As a result, the sales have gone down and moreover, the customers are left with very few reasons to add something new to their wardrobe.

Smaller weddings with even fewer guests, work-from-home, lesser number of festivities, and parties have left people with very few reasons to dress up. Designers also face certain challenges as they now have to accommodate a face mask with any attire that they are creating. Nevertheless, the worst seems to be behind us now; a fast-paced vaccination drive and use of improvised ways by a number of businesses mean it is going to get better from here. We at Surkhab Bespoke (Shilpi Gupta) believe that the only scope that lies ahead is that of sky-rocketing sales and unprecedented growth. As Delhi and its markets will emerge out of lockdowns and curfews, fashion designers can be sure that they will be sought once again. The stakeholders of the fashion industry can feel inspired and confident that the good times are about to come back!

Leading Dermatologist Dr Chiranjiv Chhabra’s Initiative to Bridge the COVID Medical Care Gap in Delhi NCR

At a time when Delhi’s medical infrastructure is reeling under a menacing COVID wave, leading Delhi-based dermatologist Dr Chiranjiv Chhabra has launched a new initiative to provide medical support and guidance to patients by converting her wellness clinics into COVID tele-support centres.

The initiative aims to help provide medical guidance, monitoring and support to patients with mild or moderate illness in a bid to bridge the medical care gap being experienced by a large number of patients.

Led by Dr Chhabra, her team of 12 doctors and health educators have taken charge of the tele-support initiative with an objective to enable early treatment for as many patients as possible, thereby preventing complications and need for critical care.

“Over the past few weeks we have been witnessing an alarming situation where healthcare is crumbling under the weight of the pandemic and patients are running from pillar to post to be able to find a doctor. We have seen a number of people experience severe complications because of delay in treatment as doctors are heavily occupied treating critically ill patients. This is a gap we want to bridge through our tele-support initiative. Our main objective is to treat mild and moderately ill patients early so that we can save them from reaching a stage where they would need hospitalization or oxygen support,” said Dr Chiranjiv Chhabra, leading dermatologist and founder of Alive Wellness Clinics.

To undertake this initiative, Alive Wellness Clinics has tied up with General Physicians and Chest Specialists to facilitate tele-consultation for patients under the guidance of Dr Chhabra’s team. The initiative is being offered free of cost for patients.

Patients who reach out to the Alive Wellness Clinics’ COVID support team are first guided by the internal team of experts followed by a tele-consultation with a specialist. The patients are closely monitored over 15 days through online consultation by the health guides at Alive Wellness Clinics who also facilitate blood tests and radiology investigations if needed.

“In this difficult situation, as medical experts we want to do our bit in helping as many patients as possible get the right medical care and guidance. A lot of patients tend to deteriorate over a week if treatment is not started immediately. Our team of doctors and health educators is servicing anybody who calls us and focus on starting preliminary treatment immediately. Where needed, we connect these patients to Physicians and Specialists through tele consultation and our team continues to monitor their health vitals closely for further action,” added Dr Chhabra.

Alive Wellness Clinics is a network of 7 Skin and Wellness Clinics spread across Delhi and Gurugram. One branch is in Chandigarh. Patients needing medical guidance can contact the COVID support team at Alive Wellness Clinics between 9 am to 6 pm through the following contacts:

New Delhi: Vidyamandir Classes, a premier national institute for IIT/JEE and NEET preparation, is holding the National Admission Test (NAT) online on 9 May,16 May and 30th May 2021 for 2021 batch. Besides holding the self-assessment test, VMC also rewards the toppers with a scholarship of up to 40,000 INR. Students appearing for the examination can register latest by 29th May.

This National Admission Test is an online nationwide test conducted to help students assess their current preparation level in comparison to their goal of cracking IIT/JEE & NEET 2021. VMC treats NAT as an entrance examination conducted to grant admission to the aspirants in the institute. VMC helps the students in sharpening their preparation and attaining higher ranks in IIT/JEE & NEET exams. Given the unprecedented surge in Covid infection, owing to the second wave across the nation, many institutes have taken to the route of online coaching, in-line with government guidelines.

To curb formation and spread of covid chain the government has announced suspension of all offline coaching classes. Earlier this month, the Directorate of Education (DoE), issued an order stating that schools and educational institutes could hold teaching and learning activities from April 1 through digital mode for academic session 2021-22.

Adapting to the changing circumstances, VMC has again initiated online coaching sessions, which are being delivered by the best of the faculty members, including VMC founders. The institute takes pride in its faculty members who, despite a decade of in-person coaching, have well-adjusted to the e-learning platform. On the bright side the virtual platform, though has its own challenges, takes down the distance barrier as students can study and better their fundamental concepts from the comfort and safety of their home. To help students gain an edge over others, the institute also provides them with mock tests and special sessions for doubt clarification.

Promoting the online sessions as the need of the hour, Brij Mohan Gupta, Co-founder, Vidyamandir Classes, said that the onset of the deadly second wave has compelled people to rethink different ways to resume the new normal life. He highlighted that on the bright side, it has helped the institute in gaining perspective and enabling the future generation in honing their abilities from home.

Shalini Vij, Founder Hangout shares her views on the recent Lockdown amidst rising Corona Cases

New Delhi: Hang Out at Select City Walk the leading name in Family Entertainment for over a decade had re-opened doors post previous lockdown very recently, to the new generation with a new dimension & new face. But recently the capital city of New Delhi has gone under Lockdown.Shalini Vij founder Hangout shares her views on the same.

This further lockdown/Curfew is the need of the hour. Covid is spreading like a wild forest fire & has hit close to home and affected many households. There is a dearth of hospital beds, shortage of tests & medical supplies. People are under physical and mental distress, many have lost family members to this pandemic & Under this miserable situation & circumstances we are not in favour to put families, children and parents at risk & I strongly commend the lockdown for the safety and security of mankind.

Public entertainment is the last thing on our minds & these are not times to celebrate occasions and festivities. Yes having said that this bears financial repercussions and burden on all businesses and the overall economy but then it’s times like this where you place humanity over fatality.
Its time to get together in community service and prayers rather than focus on making money and worry about losses. There is no bigger loss than the loss of life & or a loved one, money, business becomes immaterial & the situation demands a collective effort to counter the situation in hand with sensitivity & compassion.

Aiming always to bring you the best in entertainment & technology, once we collectively overcome this pandemic. This would not have been possible without the support of the Select CityWalk management team Arjun Sharma ,Yogeshwar Sharma and Nimish Arora for their sensitivity and compassionate support through the previous lockdown and through Covid times, it’s times like this that one realises the true meaning of humanity over mortality. Our business survival wouldn’t have been possible without their support.
