264 students, 41 education institutes participated in JK Lakshmipat University’s online cultural fest Celestial ‘21

Leading higher education institute JK Lakshmipat University (JKLU), Jaipur recently concluded their maiden Global Cultural Festival Celestial ’21. The 48 hours non-stop event, which kicked off at 9.00 am on April 9, concluded on April 11. It received 329 entries from India and overseas and saw 264 student participations from 41 educational institutions. There was prize money in the form of Amazon Gift vouchers for the Winners and Runners-Up.

The festival, which had students Sanket Gandhi and Bismanpreet Singh as the President & Vice President, respectively, and had Dr. Sheetal Mundra, Dr Punam Mishra, Ms. Shraddha Bharatiya, and Dr. Richa Sharma as Core Faculty Coordinators, started with Saraswati Vandana and a film about JKLU, followed by welcoming all participants and guests participating in the opening ceremony. “Celestial ’21 – Swimming in the Virtual Heaven”, aimed to encourage appreciation and participation in the cultural diversity and the ethos of our heritage. Through this event, JKLU provided a platform for students in-house, as well as from other institutions, to showcase their creativity and potential through an exciting range of events including dance, music, painting, caricature, stand-up comedy, debate, logic, share market, auction, and much more.

Dr. RL Raina, Vice-Chancellor, JK Lakshmipat University, in his inaugural address mentioned that, along with the core curriculum, JKLU espouses the importance of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities for every student. He said, “We produce, nurture and groom holistic and integrated individuals as ambassadors of this great university”. He congratulated the event organizers and welcomed all the participants for their unflinching enthusiasm and wished them good luck.

There was a lot of excitement in the course of the 48 hours non-stop saga and apart from the energy and bonhomie that was palpable, there was a lot of learning for everybody from this first-time experience, which was executed in record time. There were eminent judges from Overseas and India including, Ms. BaayanBaaj (Co-Founder, Warshaworks, Dubai), Mr Adam Smith (Software Development Lead, Chicago, USA), Ms. Smitha Busar (Sr Software Engineer, Clean Power Research, Seattle, USA), Ms Nupur Mahajan (Director of Learning, Ingenious Faces, Delhi), Dr.GarimaDalal (Assistant Professor, Linguistic Empowerment Cell, Jawaharlal Nehru University), Mr Apoorv Mishra (Editor-in-Chief, India Law Journal), Mr. Anurag Hoon (Co-Founder & CEO of Manzil Mystics, Delhi), Neeraj Arya’s Kabir Café (Mumbai) and Ms. Rahil Verma (Mortgage Advisor, Cibic), who had a tough time choosing the winners.

Dr. RL Raina, in his concluding address, mentioned, “Celestial ’21 is a record of its own kind. It has set a bar which only needs to be enriched, going forward. I would like to record my deep appreciation and recognition for the efforts of all participants and organizers who put up this great show despite the boundation of the Covid-19 pandemic”.

The entire program was meticulously organized and coordinated by a team of 55 members from JKLU’s Faculty and the student community, who led the Core Committee and Sub-Committees for Registration, Design, Technical, Result Compilation, Report Compilation, Certification, Marketing & Promotion, Sponsorship, and Media. It ended with a video presentation of the 48-hour journey and a Vote of Thanks from the Student Core Committee.

JK Lakshmipat University alumnus receives Indian Achievers Award 2020-21; creates new milestone

Jaipur: Jaipur-based Mr. Sparsh Agrawal, a JK Lakshmipat University’s (JKLU) alumnus, has received the prestigious Indian Achievers Award 2020-21 by Indian Achievers’ Forum for his outstanding professional achievements and contribution to the nation building in the category of “Young Entrepreneur”. Sparsh graduated in Engineering in 2016 from JKLU’ s notable and multi-disciplinary B. Tech and is now serving as a Managing Director at Aurum Resorts, Goa.

Indian Achievers’ Forum is the platform that engages in developing and sharing ideas, opinions and knowledge on the key issues. The forum places emphasis on the beneficiary participation and creates awareness in all sectors and move towards developing stronger and more collaborative partnership.

On being conferred with this honor, Dr.RL Raina, Vice-Chancellor, JKLU said, “On behalf of all the members of the JKLU family, I wish him heartiest congratulations on this unparalleled, unmatched, and well deserved recognition. We are proud of the alumni for the difference they are making to the world around them. Their contributions are acknowledged by the organizations and institutions, they are a part of, as they march ahead, creating value and opportunities on the way. JKLU is known for imparting a multi-disciplinary approach to the students so that they can be ready to face any future challenges.”

The software engineer-turned-entrepreneur always had a pool of fresh ideas. When he was in JKLU, he started his first startup PickmyBook, which aimed to provide used books to students on a daily or monthly basis. But he had to shut it due for some reasons. In his sixth semester, he worked on an idea KraftnKala, which was creating household decors by the use of waste.

He eventually stuck with the idea of starting his own hotel line during his vacation to Goa after quitting his lucrative job in Gurugram. He started off his hotel venture by leasing out a mall boutique resort. And, within a year he was having 90 rooms inventory (or four hotels) in north Goa under his company name Apeksha Hotels LLP. Managing these properties for three years gave him the confidence to build a resort of own and started his resort by the name Aurum Resorts in Dec 2019.

The 8th convocation ceremony and Founder’s Day of JKLU was virtually held on 23rd November 2020 keeping in mind the safety of the students, where 150+ students from the Institute of Management and Institute of Engineering & Technology were conferred with the graduation and post-graduation degrees on successful completion of Pinnacle MBA, BBA, B.Tech. &M.Tech. programs announced Vice-Chancellor Dr. RL Raina.

“The convocation was graced by the chief guest Mr. Sanjiv Mehta, Chairman, and Managing Director, Hindustan Unilever Limited, President, Unilever South Asia, Member, Unilever Leadership Executive,” he said.

“In the wake of Covid-19 university has decided to hold its 8th convocation ceremony virtually with students participating in video conferencing. Since the ceremony will be held online, we have put in our best to make the function one of the most memorable events of the University, our graduating students in particular despite being not present at the campus” added Dr. RL Raina.

National Education Policy 2020 has paved the way for the youth of India to pursue their dreams and passion, agree Academia & Industry

Jaipur, October 2020: The New Education Policy 2020, which took 4 years and over 1.5 lakh consultations of over a thousand Vice-Chancellors and seasoned academicians and the participation of over 40000 colleges to make, has been a burning topic of discussion amongst youth, academicians and industry alike. Leading educational Institute JK Lakshmipat University(JKLU),in association with Rajasthan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (RCCI) and Bhardwaj Foundation, today organized a webinar on “National Education Policy 2020: Academia-Industry Interface”, which was viewed live by over 400 people, including the who’s who of the industry and faculty and students of higher educational institutions across India and overseas. It delved into the changes in our education policy, the future of work, expectations of the industry from future human capital, and what educational institutions need to do and how in order to fulfil those needs and expectations. It showcased how this policy is going to address contemporary issues of developing young talent through education reforms that will lead to more creative, happy and productive human beings while integrating the cultural ethos and business needs of the country and develop a formidable India which will be emulated by the world.

The webinar was inaugurated by Dr. KL Jain, Honourable General Secretary, Rajasthan Chamber of Commerce & Industry, who acknowledged and complimented the exemplary work being done by JKLU in the field of education and mentioned that this new education policy is the need of the hour,as it will help build the requisite skills that one cannot learn through the traditional route. He also said, “The integration of vocational education and knowledge about culture and languages into the mainstream will improve the lot of India’s rural population and help the country fight the rise in unemployment”.

Dr RL Raina, Vice-Chancellor, JK Lakshmipat University, gave the keynote address, in which, among other things, he mentioned, “This policy is helping the youth of our nation to pursue their dreams and passion. It is a student and youth-centric policy”. Emphasizing on collapsing boundaries and multi-disciplinaries, he added, “Teaching, learning and innovation should happen at the intersection of design, engineering and management”. He explained that all educational institutions should have contemporary education and elaborated how, at JKLU, project-based and practical approach to learning was implemented much ahead of the announcement of NEP 2020, through its collaboration with Olin College of Engineering, USA, All India Management Association (AIMA)’s BizLab, full-semester internships at industry and other similar initiatives.

The programme was diligently moderated by Mr PM Bhardwaj, Founder President of Bhardwaj Foundation, who invited Mr DP Sharma from the USA to share his thoughts and acknowledged the messages of Dr Ajay Data, the doyen of Information Technology and Mr RajibDwivedi of Dainik Bhaskar, who wished the webinar much success. He also invited several industry chieftains, including Mr Naveen Sharma, Mr Satya Vijayvergiya, Mr Kamlesh Kumar, Mr Rajesh Sharma, Mr PC Sanghi, Dr ML Pariharand Mr Manmohan Sharma to ask very pertinent questions to Dr Raina, which made the interaction more lively and productive. Dr Raina’s answers were highly appreciated by the industry and left participants very satisfied.

The webinar came to an end with a vote of thanks from Mr Shounak Biswas, Assistant Director Development, JKLU.
