Working on AI-based solutions for PR industry: Dushyant Sinha, founder, ICCPL

New Delhi: In a panel discussion organized by exchange4media (40 under 40) on ‘Storytelling with Data, Talking about intertwining within the two’ Dushyant Sinha, Founder and Managing Director ICCPL Group discussed the need for Artificial Intelligence in the PR industry to bring accuracy in sharing information with the stakeholders across the geographical location. “In today’s time, data has become significant for the industry as it is used to develop the effective content relevant to the client as well as the reader. We, at ICCPL, do research and develop content for all our clients. If we take the example of the real estate sector, we have been using data and research reports for developing documents, including press releases, articles, features, white papers, etc. The efficacy of our content is appreciated not only by the clients but also by the media.”

Sinha also received an award at 2nd edition of PR and Corp Comm 40 under 40 from exchange4media. He was sharing views along with other panelists including Abhilasha Padhy, Co-founder and Joint MD, 80 DB; Anjali Sehwag from Media Mantra, and Karan Bhandari from Weber Shandwick. The event was moderated by Tasmayee Roy, Assistant Editor, exchange4media.

He also shared that he is working on AI technology to filter the newsfeed according to the regions and clients. “We do a lot of newsletter work, which is then sent out to all the clients and regions. However, there are chances that not all relevant news reaches the target audience as dissemination is based on keywords, which is not an effective way. We are working on the technology so that clients in various geographies receive every news even remotely related to them. We are sure to come out with an AI-based solution within a year or two,” he said adding that “PR industry should focus on the use of AI as this technology can process data much faster than any public relations practitioner would.”

Talking on the importance of right data and content for communication, Dushyant Sinha said, “While working with the available data, we should focus on the right source of the data and not enter the rat race of picking up the data and sharing the stories/releases without authenticating the content. As a communication consultant, it’s our responsibility to share the relevant content with media and should not forget that a good PR tells a good story.”

Global Hospital Starts Post-Covid Rehabilitation Clinic for Patients

Mumbai: Since March 2020, a large number of patients were hospitalized with Covid-19 and as more people survive the disease, there is an increasing need for rehabilitation. Many people with severe Covid-19 infection exhibit physical, cognitive, and even psychological symptoms even after leaving the hospital. Keeping in mind, the recovery of these patients, Global Hospital, Parel, has come up with a Post-Covid Rehabilitation Clinic.

Coronavirus was initially thought to take a toll only on one’s respiratory system. But currently, it has been seen that the virus affects multiple organs, increasing the risk of blood clots and inflammation.

A 58 years old male with Hypertension was admitted with Symptoms suggestive of Covid 19 infection. His HRCT was very bad having a severity score of 20/25. He was immediately started on necessary treatment for Covid but his condition went on deteriorating and he required to be put on a ventilator. Required to be prone for more than 5 days 16-18 hours per day. He received immunosuppression medication in form of Tocilizumab, Convalescent plasma, and Antiviral therapy was also given. His tests indicating blood clotting ability was very high hence he was also given high dose blood thinner injections.

Antibiotics were upgraded as per the patient’s condition and culture report, with all these aggressive forms of management he started showing signs of improvement. Slowly he improved but required a long term stay of around 60 days in the ICU. In all this while he became very weak and was unable to walk, but with good nutrition and Physiotherapy, he regained his ability to walk, and then he was eventually discharged with oxygen support. This severe form of Covid damaged his lungs badly and it showed evidence of fibrosis on a CT scan done before discharge. So, he was started on antifibrotic medicine, necessary nebulization, and other supportive care medication.

After discharge also he was in constant touch via video consultation and he continued Medicine, oxygen, and Physiotherapy at home. With all this, he improved gradually and he could get rid of oxygen and regained his lost strength. The subsequent CT scan of the Chest showed a reduction in fibrosis which was very much evident on discharge. So, with adequate treatment, good physiotherapy, and regular follow up he is almost normal now doing his normal routine daily activities.

Dr. Harish Chafle, Consultant Intensivist, and Chest Physician, Global Hospital, Mumbai, said “SARS-COV-2 virus attacks the lungs and causes scarring of the linings across the respiratory organs leading to lung fibrosis and other complications. One may experience bouts of breathlessness, excessive dry cough, fatigue, low oxygen saturation weeks or months after testing negative. These symptoms of lung fibrosis will require prompt treatment and follow up. Someone who is over the age of 50, or who is prone to respiratory disorders, may face serious consequences.”

He adds, “The above patient will require to follow up every 2 months to assess whether the fibrosis in the lung is progressing or regressing. With repeat HRCT whenever required to see disease progression. The no of new patients visiting the clinic has reduced now with a decrease in no of cases. But as the follow-up no is tremendous the total patients visiting the clinic will take some time to come down.”

This clinic is a boon for patients who have got infected with Covid-19 and still continue to exhibit symptoms, those patients who have recovered from the mild infection of Covid but have been showing symptoms like fatigue, fever, headaches, dry cough, chest pain, upset stomach, muscle pain and weakness, rashes, and even other cognitive difficulties and those who are severely infected with Covid-19 and had breathlessness have been detected with lung fibrosis, Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), pneumonia, anxiety, depression, brain fog, and post-traumatic stress disorder, and are returning to the hospitals for follow up and treatment. Thus, to assist these patients and focus on their recovery, Post-Covid Rehabilitation Clinic has been initiated by Global Hospital, Parel, Mumbai.

Not each and every patient recovering from Covid will have long-term complications. But many may encounter persistent respiratory and other serious symptoms like scarring of the lungs and even heart issues. The multidisciplinary team in the clinic will assess the patients and suggest relevant medication, an appropriate diet, and exercise to get back on track. This dedicated clinic will be beneficial for the patients to aid faster recovery,” concluded Dr. Vivek Talaulikar, Chief Executive Officer, Global Hospital, Mumbai.

Prominent changes real estate is undergoing amid preventive times

The real estate sector has undergone a massive change ever since the lockdown was imposed like every other industry. From preventive measures adopted at construction sites post-lockdown, the essential nature of technology advancement at sites and sales is a subject with multiple aspects. The government has also come forward with relief measures for sectors like never before, one of them being stamp duty reduction.

Mr. Vijay Verma, CEO, Sunworld Group talks in length about the positive impact stamp duty reduction, if announced will have on the UP real estate market. The developer also highlighted the change in government’s intent towards making the real estate sector more self-reliant and the novel amenities they plan to introduce in their upcoming projects.

What are some of the rules required to adhere to, now that you have resumed construction?

Our team has taken special care of managing the work at construction sites smoothly. They are following all the guidelines issued by authorities. Apart from COVID, there are also other illnesses that have become prevalent in the NCR region due to poor quality air index. Keeping our workers’ safety in mind, we have a medical professional visiting our site for holding frequent health checkups.

Besides the imposed rules, how are you going the extra mile to safeguard your construction site and people?
The sanctity of keeping our surroundings clean and hygienic cannot just be a practice till the time vaccine is out. We are planning to abide by a few of these guidelines for an extended period for the workers’ safety and good health.

How will you look at adopting more technology at construction sites?

The overall scenario post-lockdown has been optimistic for the industries relying on technology as the Government has started to show increased interest in making the nation self-reliant. Technological support will play a significant role in this; authorities are aware of this fact and are planning their policies accordingly.

Have the ongoing projects been affected in any way considering they were lying untouched for nearly six months
We are glad the authorities announced ‘force majeure’ in real estate, this has helped us maintain our promises to buyers without tainting our image in the market. Projects are in a good state now that work has resumed in full force. We were also glad that our teams working from home left no stone unturned for keeping the interaction with prospective buyers ongoing even during the lockdown.

Now that you have had time to think, how can you bring in novelty in future projects?

Our projects are known for community building. We plan to build on it in a manner that these activities are an amalgamation of virtual and offline activities looking at the current times. Also increased green cover in our projects, with trained facility management staff for unprecedented situations like these will become our priority.

The reduction in Stamp Duty may have seen a spike in home buying. What does your intuition tell you of the situation a year down the line?

Reduction of stamp duty has been announced for only a few real estate markets, the most prominent one being MMR. UP RERA has written to authorities for seeking the same relief to their state as well. Noida-Greater Noida has a significant number of unsold inventory, and if it is announced here, then the confidence of buyers is bound to get further strengthened towards the sector.

5 Agri-Tech companies helping in minimizing food wastage and bringing sustainability in supply chain

India is an agriculture-based country with almost 119 million farmers which accounts for more than half of its population. Agriculture being the primary source of income in the country, the farming community is one of the worst-hit due to the pandemic, with issues like severe disruptions in the trade finance, the farm produces- supply chain and closing down of the local mandis, markets, and transport facilities.

We have curated the list of 5 Agri-tech platforms that are helping the farmers to connect with the buyers, through retailers, e-commerce, and even by directly selling the products to consumers and keep the supply chain functional throughout the pandemic and now on the path of recovery.

  1. Origo Commodities– is India’s leading Agritech commodity financing platform, creating a positive impact on the planet and agri ecosystem. Origo aims to redefine traditional modes of procurement, handling, preserving, storing and financing farm produce, which had been largely ignored by the agri markets. Over a decade, Origo has expanded pan-India, with 500 warehouses operating across 12 states in the country. The primary focus of the business has been on creating financing and supply chain solutions. Origo has become the largest service provider to the government with its warehousing capability and network and is also spearheading a technological transformation in agri supply chain financing through its flagship agri-trade finance platform, TradeFi. Origo operates in 4 areas – Agri-tech, Climate, and sustainability, Tradefinance & Blockchain. It has been responsible for facilitating storage of over 23 million metric tonnes, reducing post-harvest losses by 5 percent, providing additional food security to over 1 million people. Origo has been helping Farmers in price discovery and market linkages.

  1. AgriBazaar– As a full-stack agritech player, AgriBazaar has replicated the physical mandi (marketplace) to an e-mandi aggregator model, through which once a farmer registers and uploads his produce, buyers can place orders for the purchase. Once the deal is complete, AgriBazaar facilitates the logistics of picking up the produce from the farmer’s doorsteps and delivering it to the buyers’ warehouse.  AgriBazaar also helps buyers — from MNCs to small-scale industries — with better price discovery, and sellers with more targeted marketing of their produce. It charges a transaction fee from buyers, while farmers can sell their produce at no additional cost.

  1. SatSure: SatSure has been at the forefront of bringing the best practices of satellite image processing, big data capabilities, and IT to agriculture. It also strives to create a positive impact on the lives of farmers by helping improve crop insurance, innovate on agri lending services, and improve market linkages by creating intervention and decision intelligence frameworks for agri value chain stakeholders. It has mobile app platforms for delivering information on supply statistics of crops and crop stressing in their region. This helps with the decisions on what to sow, when to irrigate or add fertilizers, or prepare for harvest. Large banks and insurance companies in India are also leveraging SatSure’s solutions.

  1. NinjaCart: NinjaCart is an Agri-marketing platform that helps farmers to sell their produce directly to retailers and restaurants. This helps both farmers and the consumers directly as the farmers can get better prices for their crops and there is a constant supply for the consumers as well. NinjaCart’s goal is to make a strong local farmer network and expand its operations. Ninjacart furthered its vision of, ‘Safe food for billion people’ with its first set of residue-free tomatoes, produced in partnership with agri-tech platform Kilofarms.

  1. Unnati: Unnati is a new-age fintech company offering farming lifecycle support to farmers across the country. Driven by data, the brand helps convert farmers into entrepreneurs by handholding them through every stage of the farming cycle with services such as working capital, purchasing the right seeds, nutrients and pesticides for crops, harvesting, and selling the crops. Unnati’s app gives access to agri finance, knowledge support, choice of inputs, tracking farm lifecycle, and access to buyers.
