PhonePe hits the 300 million registered users mark

National: PhonePe, India’s largest digital payments platform by both volume and value, today announced that it has crossed the 300 million lifetime registered users milestone. The company reported 125 million monthly active users (MAU) and an annualized TPV run-rate of over USD $390 billion in May ’21. It’s merchant network also continues to grow rapidly across India, and now boast of over 20 Mn offline merchants across 11,000 towns and talukas in India.

PhonePe had crossed the 250 Mn registered users mark in November 2020, and has added another 50Mn registered users in less than 6 months. In March’21, PhonePe became the first industry player to process over one billion UPI transactions in a single month, and has been clocking over a billion UPI transactions on its platform every month since then.

PhonePe takes up 6 sponsorships for IPL 2021 in its biggest-ever marketing push

Bengaluru: PhonePe, India’s leading digital payments platform today announced that it has taken up 6 different sponsorships for IPL 2021. PhonePe is the official co-presenting sponsor for the television broadcast of IPL 2021 on Star Sports Network. It is also the Associate Sponsor for the digital broadcast of IPL on Disney+Hotstar. Additionally, this time PhonePe is also sponsoring 4 IPL franchises – Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore & Delhi Capitals.

This is the third year in a row that PhonePe is co-sponsoring IPL as the league continues to be the biggest sporting event in India offering its advertising partners considerable national reach. This year, however, PhonePe’s IPL campaign will run equally aggressively across multiple platforms including TV, digital and social media platforms.

In the biggest-ever marketing push for PhonePe, the marketing interventions will run through the year with a focus on the upcoming IPL 2021. The focus of the marketing activities will largely be on expanding the user base from 280 million currently to 500 million by December 2022 and drive preference for PhonePe among millions of new-to-digital users.

PhonePe hits the 250 million user mark in India

PhonePe, India’s largest digital payments platform, today announced that it has crossed the 250 million registered user milestone. The company reported over 100 million monthly active users (MAU) and 2.3 billion app sessions in October 2020.

PhonePe had a record month in October, processing 925 million transactions, its highest so far, with an Annual TPV Run rate of $277 Billion. PhonePe also processed 835 Million UPI transactions in October, for a market-leading share of over 40%.
