PG Electroplast Ltd commences commercial production of Outdoor Units for Room Air Conditioners

PG Electroplast Ltd (PGEL) recently has started commercial production for the manufacturing of Room Air Conditioner Outdoor Units (ODUs) at its newly set up unit at its existing Ahmednagar Plant in Maharashtra. The new unit comes as an upgrade to the existing plant that used to only manufacture indoor units for Room Air Conditioners. This development will enable PGEL to manufacture complete air conditioner box units and the same will be delivered to existing and new clients like Amstrad.

The initial installed capacity of the state-of-the-art facility is 600,000 Room Air Conditioner Outdoor Units per annum. The new facility will strengthen PGEL’s position amongst its peers and is expected to generate additional revenue of over INR 100 crore for the company in the first year of its operations. It is also expected to generate over 200 jobs locally.

Commenting the commencement, Mr. Vikas Gupta, Executive Director, PG Electroplast Ltd. said, “The AC industry in India is growing at a great pace, creating various avenues of opportunities for the EMS players in India.
