Capri Loans Honours Cricket’s Unsung Heroes with ‘Masters of Maidaan’ Initiative

Groundsmen play a crucial role in preparing the venue for a cricket match, performing tasks such as pitch preparation, outfield maintenance, and ensure players safety. Their meticulous work safeguards the optimal playing environment for cricketers, from ensuring the pitch is fair to managing drainage systems to cope with adverse weather conditions. Under its ” Masters of Maidaan” initiative, reflecting the brand ethos of “Farz Nibhaatey Hain,” Capri Loans reaffirmed its commitment to acknowledge and celebrate the diligent groundskeepers at Narendra Modi Stadium, Gujarat, “Kyunki Woh Farz Nibhaatey Hain”.

In a ceremony, held at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, Mr. Jayesh Patel, Pitch Curator who looks after the curation of pitches for match days & training and Mr. Viha Rabari, Senior Groundman who is in charge for the maintenance of outfield, pitch, practice grounds, were honoured. They received awards from Umesh Yadav, and Joshua Little.

Assets Under Management

AUM registered a 22% YoY and 2% QoQ growth.
Disbursals resumed in Jun’21 after being suspended in Apr-May’21 due to severe Covid-19 second wave.
The subdued disbursal trend muted incremental growth across portfolios on a QoQ basis.

Liability Management

Borrowings increased 26% YoY / -4% QoQ to Rs36bn.
Bank borrowings constituted 76% of total borrowings, balance contributed by NCDs.
CGCL has Rs 6,910mn of un-drawn limits and another Rs 2,000mn of sanctioned limits.
ALM is well balanced with inflows exceeding outflows across all buckets.

Earnings Trend

Net interest income increased 19% YoY / 20% QoQ to Rs 1,104mn.
Operating profit increased 8% YoY / 34% QoQ to Rs 787mn.
Profit after tax increased 16% YoY / 69% QoQ to Rs 459mn.
Average yield on advances 14.6%, Average cost of funds 8.4%, and spreads 6.2%.
Cost-income ratio was noted at 35.9%.

Asset Quality

Gross Stage 3 increased 111bps YoY / 10bps QoQ to 3.4%.
Provision Coverage Ratio further improved to 76.4% from 73.1% in Q4 FY21.
Restructured assets increased to Rs 2,040mn from Rs 1,840mn in Q4 FY21. Further pipeline for restructuring requests is thin.
Collection Efficiency (on POS) exhibited improving trend; MSME collection efficiency improved to 87% (84% in Q4 FY21) while Housing Finance collection efficiency improved to 95% (93% in Q4 FY21).

Strong Capital Adequacy

CGCL remains well capitalized with a Tier I capital adequacy at 37.5%.
The capitalization levels are robust to support strong growth over medium term.

Return Ratios

Annualized RoE / RoA of 11.1% / 3.4% respectively.
BVPS and annualized EPS was Rs100.6 / Rs10.4 respectively.

Commenting on the performance, Founder & Managing Director, Mr. Rajesh Sharma said:

“Q1 FY22 was a particularly challenging quarter due to the severe second Covid wave which affected a number of CGCL employees and customers. We ensured all timely help to our employees to keep their morale strong. We were quick on our heels with the waning of Covid wave and resumed operations at all levels in June’21. Going forward, we remain optimistic about the growth opportunities over medium-term while being aware and cautious of the still delicate normalization post-second Covid wave.

At CGCL, we have set ourselves an ambitious target of delivering a +20% YoY growth in AUM in FY22 and a medium-term CAGR of 22-27% between FY22E-FY27E. We believe this is an achievable target based on the organic growth opportunities we see in our product segments.”

Capri Global Capital Ltd appoints Mr. Rahul Agarwal as Chief Technology Officer

New Delhi: Capri Global Capital Ltd (CGCL), a diversified NBFC, has appointed Mr. Rahul Agarwal as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). The appointment has come into effect from July 16, 2021.

In his new role, Mr. Agarwal would head the technology vertical and will take up the responsibility of all technology functions across the company. He is entrusted with the responsibility of driving digital transformation initiatives, deploying technology interfaces to enable tailor-made services as well as incubating strategic IT solutions for CGCL product categories.

Speaking about the appointment, Mr. Rajesh Sharma, Managing Director, Capri Global Capital Ltd. said, “CGCL is geared to accelerate its digital transformation by bringing the necessary domain expertise and high-velocity implementation. The transformation needs re-engineering of business models that not only embraces newer technologies and platforms but integrate them into existing business processes to deliver the best-in-class services. Mr. Agarwal is a technology leader with more than 17 years of experience in building products, platforms, services, and leading teams across diverse industry sectors. Before joining CGCL, he has served as Group CTO at Aakash Educational Services and CTO for PolicyBazaar.com as well as Lava International in his career stint respectively. He has experience across business – tech integration, product/technology ownership, system design/architecture, business solution design & building highly scalable systems. He has a deep understanding of AWS infrastructure and big data processing and analytics systems.

An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, Mr. Agarwal has also worked with IndiaHomes.com, Tyroo Media Pvt Ltd, Clickable, Vritii InfoCom, Tribal Fusion & Tavant Technologies at various key positions.

Capri Global Capital Ltd PAT rises 10% Y-O-Y to Rs 1.77 Bn

Mumbai: Focused on MSME and Housing Finance, a Non-banking finance company (NBFC)Capri Global Capital Ltd (CGCL) has registered 20% growth in the total asset under management to Rs 48.48 bn driven by its focus on MSME and affordable housing finance segments. The initiatives taken by the company to modernize its tech stack has led to improvementin overall employees’ productivity and in-turn reduction in operating expenses to income ratio to 35.3% in FY21 as against 40.9% in the previous financial year. This supported growth in profit by 10% Y-O-Y to Rs. 1.77 bn from Rs. 1.61 bn in the year-ago period.

The consolidated net worth of the company stood at Rs. 17.17 bn in FY21. MSME portfolio continues to dominate with 23% Y-O-Y growth with an AUM of Rs. 25.11 bn. Affordable Home Loan businesses showed a promising growth of 29% Y-O-Y with an AUM of Rs. 11.55 bn.

Commenting on the outcome, Mr. Rajesh Sharma, Managing Director, Capri Global Capital Ltd., said, “Our profitability and strong loan book growth for the quarter demonstrated significant improvement in performance across key indicators despite severe headwinds of Covid-19. Capri Global Capital Ltd appoints Mr. Raj Kumar Ahuja as Group Chief Financial Officer

Hyderabad: Capri Global Capital Ltd (CGCL), a diversified NBFC focusing on MSME lending and housing finance has appointed Mr. Raj Kumar Ahuja as its Group Chief Financial Officer. The appointment has come into effect from December 15, 2020.

A finance professional with nearly 30 years of experience in a multi-product environment of varied industries, Mr. Ahuja will be leading the financial operations at CGCL while optimizing the strategic expansion of the business. His wide-ranging knowledge of procurement & commercial, legal, compliance risk, legal, secretarial, audit, strategic and regulatory aspect would contribute to achieving the business goals of the company. He would be based out of the head office in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Before joining CGCL, Mr. Ahuja has served as Senior Group President & Group Chief Financial/Strategic Officer at Yes Bank. Earlier, he has worked with Reliance Jio Infocomm, FINO PayTech, One 97(PayTM) Communications, Star India Pvt Ltd, Wipro Technologies, NXP Semiconductors and American Express at various key positions.
