New Delhi: Mankind Pharma, the 4th largest pharmaceutical company in India has come forward to recognise the hard work and dedication of Indian athletes competing in the Tokyo Olympics. The brand will be rewarding players who represented India and garnered 4th position to salute them and encourage their determination and hard work.

Mankind Pharma will be facilitating the players with a token of appreciation and gratitude for their exceptional performance. It is not always about winning accolades and not all success is measured by bagging a trophy, the company believes that they may have lost out on a medal but they have won a billion hearts. Mankind understands the hardships faced by the athletes and has come forward to appreciate and acknowledge the spirit of the players. The pharma company has decided to give a total amount of 2.20 crore as a cumulative reward. Each player of the Women’s Hockey team, a total of 16 players, with 11 lakhs rupees and adding to that the Pharma company is rewarding Boxer Satish Kumar, Wrestler Deepak Punia, Shooter Saurabh Chaudhary and Golfer Aditi Ashok, who will be given a sum of INR 11 lakh each for their bravery and hard work.

Mankind Pharma believes that it’s not always about attaining that position on the podium, it’s the spirit with which all the players have performed and represented India.

Hyderabad, 26th April 2021: As the country continues to grapple with the second wave of coronavirus pandemic, healthcare and frontline workers are racing against time to contain its spread. Many dedicated Heroes have lost their lives in the process. As a responsible organization, Mankind Pharma is standing alongside the families of these heroes and will donate Rs 100 crores to support them.

Mankind Pharma has been involved in the country’s fight against the pandemic since the beginning. In 2020 Mankind Pharma donated around INR 130 crore to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund, CM Care Fund, and to martyred healthcare workers and police personnel involved in fighting the pandemic. The company has donated ventilators, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and medicines to the nation. Being a leading pharma company, Mankind Pharma has always aspired to be recognized as a top brand both in revenue and serving mankind through its CSR activities.

Being the first line of defense they are highly exposed to this deadly disease. Let’s protect ourselves from the clutches of the coronavirus and, in turn, protect them.  Let us all promise to wear a mask whenever we step outside, maintain a distance of 6 feet at all times, and wash our hands regularly. Mankind Pharma will never forget the loss borne by the families of the deceased frontline warriors. The company knows we can never do enough to replace their void but we can at least try to help them ride through these trying times.”

As a part of the on-going initiative, Mankind Pharma has rewarded Sandhya Marawi with 1 Lakh rupees for breaking the stereotype and supporting her family.

A young mother of three, untimely demise of her husband in 2016, made Sandhya rise to the occasion and take on badge no 36 and become India’s first lady coolie. Undeterred and ready to take on any challenge that came her way, she took the path of being aatmanirbhar and worked a day in day out to support the wellbeing of her family to ensure that they had a roof over their heads. Mankind Pharma, true to its philosophy of recognizing the real heroes and saluting the spirit of Atmanirbharta, acknowledged Sandhya’s efforts and humbly awarded her with 1 lakh rupees.

Gas-O-Fast, a subsidiary of Delhi-based pharma and wellness company Mankind Pharma, has witnessed 100% growth in lockdown. Gas-O-Fast is known for its natural antacids, is focused on establishing a stronger presence across the nation.

The brand recently associated with Saurabh Shukla and Biswanath Basu as brand ambassadors to tap into new markets, bringing certain credibility on deck for the brand to take advantage of. The brand has been investing in products and marketing to garner a larger pie of the market share in the antacids industry.

The nationwide lockdown has changed the way of living, with the closure of restaurants, clubs and food stalls, according to a report by Google reveals that the month of May searches for food recipes on the Internet jumped by 20%. While there was a restriction on the movement and with more time in hand, people started experimenting with delicacies and coming up with exciting recipes at home. With a considerable change in eating habits and no physical activity and sedentary lifestyle, leading to indigestion with an increase in demand for antacid, and Gas-O-Fast seeing a multifold jump in sales.

Pandemic Love; Emerging Trends in the Condom Industry

Manforce condoms, being one of the largest selling brands in India has seen its due share of fluctuations in sales during the pandemic, like any other brands in the industry. While initially, the unprecedented situation had triggered large-scale anxiety amongst individuals but eventually with things settling, it led to an increased intimacy among couples.

With the initial lockdown that was announced by the government, the sales of condoms did see a boom with everyone stocking up in advance. However, with the unanticipated nationwide lockdown that continued for the next two months, there was a drop in sales but not due to the decrease in demand, but mainly because of the temporary supply challenges. With life coming back to normal, and the government easing the lockdown, the sale of condoms is witnessing a steady sales trend.

On the fluctuation in sales numbers, the company spokesperson Mr. Rajeev Juneja, CEO, Mankind Pharma said, “Yes, the numbers have been fluctuating since the lockdown, however, it’s temporary owing to basic restrictions and apprehensions that the pandemic has brought about amongst individuals. The nation was on a standstill with the lockdown. Now each one of us is getting accustomed to the new normal and adapting ourselves back to routine and regular lifestyle, the brand is witnessing a steady growth in sales, In the month of August unlike category & other rest of the brands we have seen 2% positive growth and spike in Market Share going up to approximately 32%.“

The overall condoms market has witnessed double-digit degrowth in the first qtr. While Manforce Condoms has been on track from July onwards with positive growth trend thus continuing to be the largest selling condom brand in India.
