Mumbai, 20 May 2021 –India’s hospitality industry witnessed a decline of 38.7% in Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR) during Q1 2021 as compared to Q1 2020, according to JLL’s Hotel Momentum India (HMI) Q1 2021, a quarterly hospitality sector monitor. Additionally, RevPAR in the top six cities has decreased by 48% in Q1 2021 as compared to Q1 2020.

The recovery of the sector has been primarily driven by the leisure segment performing notably well. A total number of signings in Q1 2021 stood at 28 hotels comprising of 2,064 keys, recording a decline of 53% compared to the same period last year. Goa grew to be the RevPAR leader in absolute terms, despite the single-digit decline of RevPAR by 1.1 percent in Q1 2021 compared to Q1 2020. This was due to a 6.4% increase in occupancy levels. Demand for domestic leisure travel amidst international travel restrictions continues to make Goa the fastest recovering market in absolute term.

Bengaluru saw the sharpest decline in RevPAR in Q1 2021, with a 60.6% decline compared to the same period of the previous year.

Demand and supply of operational inventory in six major cities declined by 6.7% and 4.2% respectively in the first quarter of 2021.

“In Q1 2021, the hospitality industry witnessed a revival, with most leisure markets performing exceptionally well. The pace of recovery started picking up due to an increase in corporate travel but it was short-lived as the onset of the second wave brought back travel restrictions and derailed the recovery. We expect that the hospitality sector in India will mostly remain under stress in 2021. However, the hotels are much more nimble and better prepared in terms of their SOPs and cost structures to navigate business interruptions this year. A few trades may emerge in the hotel investment space given the dynamic cash flow situations,” said Jaideep Dang, Managing Director, Hotels and Hospitality Group, South Asia, JLL.

Outlet Buddy – One Stop Solution for Cloud Kitchens

With the hospitality industry hit hard by the pandemic, the industry is facing a nightmare. Even with the government-applied unlocks, it is seen that the restaurant industry is still facing losses in sales and capital. With consumer demand for home-delivered meals booming, venturing into the cloud kitchen business struck 2 friends, Inderdeep Singh & Loveneet Singh – the smart thing to do, and thus they launched Outlet Buddy.

Outlet Buddy is just like your regular kitchen, the only difference is that it operates online making it much more convenient for their Merchants and other restaurant owners by giving them all, one single point of interaction to order food. Hence, Restaurants don’t need to shop from multiple vendors for Raw material and can simply order all their dishes from one window.

In the current industry scenario, one can’t call time of death on dine-in restaurant services, the fact remains that even two months after Unlock 1.0, the business has been slow and, if restaurants are to make up for the losses caused by the Corona Virus outbreak and secure a firmer footing for the future, – collaboration and coexisting(done effectively) seems like a convenient way forward. While Restaurants order from Outletbuddy for serving their customers, their much-adored meals, Outletbuddy also helps you in cutting your rental, HR, and capital cost by offering its Merchants Shared Cloud kitchens.

We also have a tempting opportunity for entrepreneurs and restauranteurs to earn great profits by getting a franchise. Our franchise is based on the Foco Model (Franchise owned Company operated) where one needs to invest only once and start reaping benefits from day one. The investment is based on the kind/ number of brands the Merchant wishes to invest in. This model is especially enticing for restaurants that are closed because of COVID, who have full-fledged kitchens and would like to run 3-4 brands collectively from that kitchen, (in some cases) including their own brands, hence Outlet buddy also reignites the brand presence.

We at Outlet Buddy, endeavor to make the life for Restaurant owners simpler by providing them completely cooked dishes, at the right temperature, so a dish simply should be warmed before it’s stuffed or served to be savored by the client at long last.” Says  Loveneet Singh, founder of Outlet Buddy. “When our Buddy Client orders from us we dispatch the affirmed request and focus on same-day delivery. We intend to be the Kitchen for all our Buddy Clients, so they can concentrate on selling and furthermore scaling to other locations, without worrying about the huge sums of capital involved for setting up a full-fledged kitchen every time”. He adds

The future of cloud kitchens is bright. With lots of brands entering, there’s been a lot of change and innovation, in packaging, contactless options, etc. Outlet Buddy offers ways in which customers can get the best experience possible at the comforts of their own place.
