The dust on the classroom benches has its own stories to tell: Atul Malikram

Eyes on the door of the classroom, he was waiting anxiously for the girl to enter. Like the past month, he made sure to come to the classroom before the final bell rang. In all his school life, he usually was the last student to enter the classroom. But this year, it was different. The reason for his early arrival is the new girl who made sure to always sit on the front bench. Today as she was entering the class, something made her look up and she stared directly into his eyes and gave him a little smile. And in this way, the school witnessed the beginning of a new love story. There was a time when the schools used to be the centre of many such occurrences, but now the dust on the locks of the school buildings tells the tales of sorrow, loneliness and despair.

It is seen that when two people meet, talk or share the bond of love, they often face many challenges in the form of religion, society and family. Even those people who have gone through the same phase at one time or the other in their life, raise objections against their lovers. They forget that they too have gone through this phase of attraction in their past. Suffice to say, in everyone’s life, there comes a day when the dreams turn to reality, the heart becomes the carrier of an avalanche of emotions, and the wave of faith starts flowing to the one person who becomes the centre of your world. The time when a person finds himself tied with an invisible thread of deep emotions. This consciousness begins at a very unique stage of age… Yes! In adolescence…!

This is the time when changes occur in the way of speaking and living. The seeds of attraction begin to sprout in a fickle mind. Friendship gets blurred when someone starts knocking on the doors of the heart. At the same time, the heart becomes an algebraic equation, which keeps searching for that ‘someone in the crowd.

Many childhood love stories start in schools. But now, with the schools shut down indefinitely, many things have changed. Students haven’t been to school for the last 1.5 years. How can they develop these mild ‘crushes’, without any meeting ground? Yes, we have social media where one can still form the connection, albeit virtually, but can it take precedence to real experience? No, it cannot.

The truth is, the Corona pandemic has also affected the sentiments of teenagers, which has gone unnoticed.

Teenagers imprisoned in homes for the past years have been deprived of making beautiful memories in the last days of their school life. They have become self-conscious, anxious, and hopeless. Some of them are getting more and more depressed as they have no one to share their feelings or talk to. While others under the pressure are closing themselves from others and seeking solitude. There is something pure and wonderful with the school crushes. It is an experience of a different level, the existence that fills the teenager with confidence. But to bridge this gap of 1.5 years, we have to start giving priority to the emotions and feelings of the teenagers. Try understanding their mindset to stop them from taking the wrong path. Be their friends but don’t pressurize them. Give them time and trust them. Be strict, but not overbearing. Guide them but let them make their own decisions. Help them differentiate between right and wrong. Give them your attention and love and don’t forget that you also had to cross this stage once in your life.

Dr. Mickey Mehta will be stepping into the super sixties

Four decades normally seem very long, but for Dr. Mickey Mehta it seems they flew past like a breeze. Yes this year as he steps into his 60th birthday, he also completes 40 years as the pioneer of the wellness industry on many counts. The first holistic health columnist in India, first fitness TV radio presenter, first one to bring fitness to reality shows (Indian idol junior, fame gurukool, Nach Baliye, channel V get gorgeous, channel V pop stars, and many more), first personal trainer of India, first one to promote equipment free training in India, first one to coach miss India / Mr. India / supermodels, etc. He also has a world record in teaching swimming in 24 hours.

Incidentally, he also completed 51 years of practicing yoga. Yet when we ask him are you a yogi? Pat comes the answer, “no am just an ordinary bhogi.”

He feels very fortunate as being appointed the FIT INDIA MOVEMENT champion and he also got the original Indian Olympics t-shirt to make videos for cheering the Indian Olympians.

Dr. Mickey Mehta, Global Leading Holistic Health Guru & Corporate Life Coach (1)

Being a part of the Indian merchant steering committee for holistic health there are lots India can expect post-pandemic with his intended ventures HEALTHY INDIA WEALTHY INDIA.

As he steps into his 60th year, the Fit India movement turns three-is it a coincidence you ask? “And he says … I am simply blessed! ….”.

So what’s new we wonder? “Every moment, newness depends on your creativity driven by your own enthusiasm and getting inspired from within “. And he quickly opens up his cell phone with childlike enthusiasm, shows me the cover of his new book with global super chef Sanjeev Kapoor and the book is called, “IMMUNITY PLUS” where Chef Sanjeev Kapoor has contributed with health food recipes. Immunity plus also has a 4-week program of workouts, breathing, meditation, mind science, affirmations, and prayers. In his own words, it is a fully loaded club sandwich of well-rounded IMMUNITY all the way.

And knowing our mighty Mickey we certainly knew that wasn’t it at all. He once again pulls out his research paper on ‘IMMUNITY FOR HUMANITY’ by UGC- UNIVERSITY GRANTS COMMISSION for which he was assisted by Dr. Havovi Rana under the guidance of Dr. Ali Irani- HOD PHYSIOTHERAPY NANAVATI HOSPITAL, DEAN NMIMS COLLEGE OF PHYSIOTHERAPY and his assistant Dr. Mansi Mehta. And yes this is Dr. Mickey Mehta’s second medical research paper, the first being the monumental code – Vedic Wisdom, published in SCI VISION JOURNAL.

Wow, now we have 2 global Parsees in the business of immunity from our community. One – Mr. Adar Poonawala and the second – Dr. Mickey Mehta. He quickly remembered his first meeting with Adar Poonawala at the Serum Institute of India 2020 march 17 just 5 days before the lockdown to be precise and he says the idea of work on immunity germinated there.
Let’s say GET IMMUNIZED…GET MICKEYMIZED!!!

And in his own words he says, work and communicate, to the world and let maximum people get the benefit. So what’s the noise we ask? And yes he says a campaign of wellness revolution for human evolution on radio one, fever, and Nasha parallelly around STEPPING INTO SIXTY, and that’s not it, hold on; a campaign on Tata sky by Dr. Mickey Mehta’s “freedom from fat” was launched on Independence Day.

On his birthday itself 29th August, Tata sky will run a special tribute for the legendary global leading holistic health guru Dr. Mickey Mehta – SUPER FIT SIXTY…completing 40 years of professional journey.

Parsees are known for caring and sharing and Dr. Mickey Mehta has just launched a brand new 360-degree holistic health healing center at Bhulabhai Desai Road Mahalaxmi chambers south Mumbai.

And you ask him for any community-related service, and he says “ I serve the Maharashtra police, the BMC, the immigration, the customs, army, navy, air force from time to time and have now started serving senior citizens from the Zoroastrian community every Friday at 6 pm at captain colony.

So does legendary mean THAT’S IT? And he says “I have just begun, I plan to live forever and contribute forever. I share my passion for social impact with my brother Jimmy Mistry and yes we both are driven by purpose. “

Then comes the line from the wordsmith’s mouth, “don’t chase your dreams …pursue your purpose and the universe will fulfill your dreams”

The project closest to his heart is DELPHIC GAMES of Greece. It’s like the Olympics of art and culture. This was launched at the governor’s house on Saturday the 21st of August by joint commissioner Gst Sahil Seth, Hema Malini Ji , veteran actor Paresh Rawal, music directors Salim Suleiman, choreographers Bosco – Ceasar, MD BMG Crescendo, and above all the grandmaster of physiotherapy Dr. Ali Irani, just to name a few. As a chair of holistic health for Delphic games, it seems he has the responsibility of starting a “SWAST BHARAT MAST BHARAT MOVEMENT”

It was time we had to close the interview and he appealed like a child that I have four more lines please and of course who could refuse that innocent face with a charming and a mesmerizing smile.

And then he says, “My vision is, LET WELLNESS BE THE RELIGION NUMBER ONE.
My mission is to START A WELLNESS REVOLUTION FOR HUMAN EVOLUTION.
My objective is LET’S HAVE A DISEASE FREE WORLD. And my motto is SLEEP EVERY NIGHT WITH A WISH TO HEAL YOURSELF …. AND WAKE UP EVERY MORNING WITH A PROMISE TO HEAL THE WORLD.”

Yes of course Mickey – we are mesmerized and are Mickeymized ….

Pol(e) position at the British GP

MotoGP 2021 Round 12, British Grand Prix

‎Britain, August 28, 2021: Pol Espargaro’s early weekend form converted into a sensational pole position at the British GP, his first on board the Repsol Honda Team RC213V. Marc Marquez will line up just behind his teammate in fifth on the grid, completing a very positive Saturday.

A typically gloomy British morning was waiting as the MotoGP World Championship rolled out of pitlane for Free Practice 3. The cooler conditions didn’t stop the quick lap times as all of the top 11 dropped into the 1’59s, Pol Espargaro and Marc Marquez kept up with the pace to earn direct passage to Q2.

Marc Marquez at Britain GP

There was no slowing down for Espargaro in Free Practice 4 as the #44 ended the session in second and once again took top Honda honours – a small crash at the end of Free Practice 3 having no major impact on his performance. With his trademark determination, Espargaro rolled out of pit lane for Q2 and got to work. A steady first run had him well placed but on his second set of tyres, Espargaro unleashed himself and set his best ever lap time around Silverstone – a 1’58.889. The time put him second in the session with just seconds to go of Q2. As the Repsol Honda Team rider rolled into Parc Ferme, he was promoted to pole position due to a track limits infringement for Martin.

Pol Espargaro will start the 2021 British Grand Prix from pole position, his first with the Repsol Honda Team and his third in the premier class. This is also the first time a Repsol Honda Team rider has started on pole since Marc Marquez lined up at the head of the field for the 2019 Japanese GP. Espargaro also becomes the first Repsol Honda Team rider other than Marc Marquez to take pole since the 2017 Malaysian GP.

Marc Marquez was rarely more than three tenths behind his Repsol Honda Team teammate throughout the course of Saturday in Silverstone. Tenth in Free Practice 3 and fourth in Free Practice 4, Marquez was continuing to show at the sharp end as he had done on Friday. Track limits during his first run of Q2 saw the eight-time World Champion’s lap times revoked. With it all to play for, Marquez produced a strong final lap to earn fifth on the grid, 0.197s behind his teammate. Together, Marquez and Espargaro have produced the Repsol Honda Team’s best Saturday of 2021.

Sunday is a new day, but both Espargaro and Marquez and determined to convert their practice pace into race pace and challenge for the top positions. The 20-lap race will begin at 13:00 Local Time, before the Moto2 race.

Pol Espargaro (Pole) 1’58.889

“Incredible. Just incredible. I almost can’t believe it. We arrived here in Silverstone after two really difficult weekends in Austria and this gave me a lot of motivation, a lot of fire to push this weekend. I have been feeling so good this weekend with the bike, the track, the grip and I am so pleased we were able to make the most of it today. I want to say a huge thank you to the Repsol Honda Team, to Alberto Puig, to Takeo, to Kuwata-san, all of them have helped me so much and continued to work 100% behind me no matter what. We have kept working all this time and we will keep working, but I just want to enjoy this moment for now.”

Marc Marquez (5th) 1’59.086

“My eye today is much better; it was not a big problem, but it was disturbing me a lot yesterday. My body still had some pain today after the 270km/h crash. I think our Qualifying was strong today since normally I feel some limitations there and we have achieved our goal of the second row. Let’s see what’s possible tomorrow in the race because the bike has been working well here since Free Practice 1. If we can continue in this direction we can have a good race and it’s important to keep closing the distance to the top guys. Also congratulations to Pol and to Honda for the pole position.”

Chief Guest, Mr. Rajeev Dubey, Chairman – Mahindra Insurance Brokers Ltd., Mahindra First choice Wheel Ltd. & Mahindra Steel Service Centre Ltd. added, “My congratulations and salutations to all those who are embarking on this fascinating journey. I am sure it will be a journey of magic, mysticism, learning, unlearning, relearning, discovery, and fun. In this new normal what organisations require is proactive decision making at various points of the value chain which means the concept of leadership has to change. We have to go to what is known as distributed leadership. In addition, there is a requirement for a deep connection with stakeholders, especially the consumers, and that requires empathy and extreme care. Five leadership behaviours that will be highly crucial in this time of disruption and transformation – the ability to connect the whole mind, to be a multiplier of energy, passion, and engagement by listening and respecting and not wanting to command and control, knowing how to manage fear and leverage failure to enable innovation to take place, being mindful by being open to all possibilities and to create trust through authenticity. Transformational leaders are led by purpose, have the ability to combine knowledge with implementation and aligning these two with their being, their inner space, their purpose, their dream.”

Guest of Honour and Keynote Speaker Mr. Sandeep Tyagi, Director-HR, Samsung Electronics highlighted, “I am delighted to be amidst you today in the Executive MBA Orientation Program. The topic today is a most talked about discourse – Business transformation in a digital era that has been disruptive and the transformation that has happened is humungous and unparalleled. The speed at which business has transformed has made digital become the key enabler. Some of the statistics tell us that by 2025 there will be 900 million active users of internet customers in India and the third-largest online shopping country after the USA and China. The pandemic has changed the human experience, buying and using behaviour. The onset of the Omnichannel mode of selling (a combination of Online and Offline mode) from digital to phygital is the new mantra. It connotes that digital is going to be synchronized with an offline mode of selling. India is expected to add 140 billion turnovers in terms of online shopping. Rural penetration is and connecting the last mile population through optic fibers has been phenomenal. Online education has become the new normal given a thrust to digital sales and customer choices. We need to find a hybrid model of an online and offline model of classrooms to bridge the digital divide. Digital competency has become a key skillset for success and benchmark. I wish all the students the very best and wish they all have a great career ahead.”
