WEConnect International Hosts 3-day Conference for Women Business Owners to Build Capacity and Network with Large Corporations

DELHI, INDIA October 13, 2022—WEConnect International hosted a 2-day in-person conference to provide opportunities for 60 women-owned businesses to grow their network and connect with more than 30 large corporations, part of the “Women’s Empowerment Through Economic Inclusion” 3-year project, funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs.

The objective of the event and thus the project itself is to generate long-term opportunities for women-owned businesses to develop the skills necessary to not only connect but conduct business with large buyers, including local and multinational corporations, government agencies, and non-profit and non-governmental organizations.

“Women business owners constitute the most promising engine of growth in India,” said Saritha Venumbaka, Chief Operating Officer, WEConnect International. “By focusing on women’s economic empowerment and advancing gender equality, India will capture the tremendous economic potential women business owners can bring to the economy, including job creation.”

The Bengaluru Midnight Marathon (BMM) Is Back!

Bengaluru, October 13, 2022: The world’s first marathon run at night is 15 years and counting!! The registrations for the 15th edition of the country’s oldest and the only one of its kind Midnight Marathon- the Bengaluru Midnight Marathon (BMM) has been declared open starting today, October 06, 2022. BMM, a member of AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races), has grown into a marathon of international repute over the last 14 years and today is one of the leading Marathon run in the world, with the participation of 12,000+ runners.

The theme for this year’s BMM is aptly chosen as “Run Freely Again.” After two years of the Pandemic controlling most of our lives, it’s time to celebrate the spirit of freedom, the freedom to ‘BE.’ Thousands of professional runners, international athletes, supporters, corporates and NGOs are expected to run in this year’s BMM organized by Rotary Bangalore IT Corridor (RBITC) at KTPO, Whitefield on Saturday, 10th. Covestro, a leading polymer manufacturer, and Arcesso Dynamics, a manufacturer of custom polyurethane parts, launch Arfinio®,a breakthrough manufacturing solution, at K 2022 plastics trade fair in Düsseldorf, Germany. The solution is based on reaction injection molding (RIM) on aliphatic polyurethanes. Previously considered impossible, this technology enables manufacturers to benefit from new combinations of design freedom, functional performance, and sustainability in multiple solid-surface and injection-molded applications.

Arfinio® material is made by injection molding of a combination of high-performance liquid polymers and unique minerals. This produces truly seamless shapes without requiring sheets. In this way, the technology combines the key benefits of aliphatic chemistry, injection molding, and solid surfaces: mechanical resistance, light-stability, and repairability, as well as low product weight, quick production, and improved design freedom.

These properties are now opening new possibilities in applications including an Estoli shower plate, and a luxury design chair. In bathroom furniture, Arfinio® provides a solution at least 50 percent lighter than traditional solid surfaces with improved wet slip resistance and increased safety during installation and use. Its formulation can also be supplemented with antibacterial additives, enhancing hygiene on high-touch surfaces. In furniture, injection molding enables the quick production of complex, truly seamless structures. Finally, the thermal coefficient of Arfinio® makes it warm to the touch, and its texture and color can be customized. This also allows for backlighting in electronic applications.

Arfinio®also contributes toward a more circular, sustainable world. Its excellent impact, abrasion, and chemical resistance properties give it a long service lifetime. Additionally, as a mono-material, it can be easily repaired by sanding or milled and recycled into new products.
