They remind me of my school friends, and just spending time with them brings a wave of nostalgia in me.” Kajal Patil, as Harsha Goel adds, “Shrenu and Heena are sweethearts. We had an instant connection and effortless friendship. And that is what makes our bond so special. Since we are shooting, I will be spending the friendship day with them, and I am sure we will have a rocking time! Heena Warde, as Pankhudi Jaiswal, adds, “Some bonds are so pure and instant that it does not take much of an effort. Such is our bond. We clicked from day one, and with every passing day, the bond is only becoming stronger and closer, both on-screen and off-screen.”

Kabhi Dushman Toh Kabhi Saheli: While Shanti Mishra (Farhana Fatema) and Sakina Mirza (Akansha Sharma) are the bickering neighbours living in a cohabited haveli in &TV’s Aur Bhai Kya ChalRaha Hai? their bond is the complete opposite off-screen. We do our make up together, share our meals, listen to music, make unlimited fun reels and sometimes gossip. There have been times when I mispronounce a few Urdu words; Farhana helps with it. She makes sure that she takes out time and refines my Urdu diction. I never knew that I would be finding my best friend at work.” Farhana Fatema, as Shanti Mishra adds, “On-screen we are the perfect padosis, we fight and even stand unified in front of others. While off-screen, we have become thick friends. The make-up room is our hangout spot! We do all sorts of things over there and have a lot of fun. We both share the same love for acting and dancing, which made us even closer. Akansha is a wonderful co-actor and now one of my closest friends. She feels like family to me.”

I believe just like Mirza is incomplete without his rival Mishra, I am incomplete without Ambrish. He has become an important part of my life that I cherish dearly. Ambrish is just like an elder brother to me. We spend a lot of time in our make-up room when we are not shooting. We make funny reels. In one of our reels, we even tried dancing! I feel only Ambrish can cope up with my level of craziness.”

The reason why we can showcase a rather bittersweet act on-screen and ace it perfectly is all because of the way we understand each other. Friendships like these always keep you motivated as you know that there is someone who will always believe in you. On this friendship day, I pray for our friendship to last till eternity because that is how much I cherish this friendship.” RohitashvGour, as Manmohan Tiwari, adds, “After spending nearly seven years with him, we have learnt a lot about each other. We know that we can always fall back on one another and share a screen with him, just a cherry on top of the cake. While on-screen, we both have this invisible jealousy, which ignites most of our fights. Behind the scenes, both Tiwari Ji and Vibhuti laugh at every smallest of smallest joke and share meals. On some days, I even bring an extra serving of his favourite daal for lunch. In contrast, he will bring me some of the juiciest kebabs and delicacies that he enjoys making on his own. &TV| Aao Banayein Uttar Pradesh Ko Plastic Mukht Rajya: &TV artists

Plastic pollution is undoubtedly one of the most pressing environmental issues globally, and one solution is to curb single-use plastics or ban plastic bags. Given the severe ecological consequences, it is becoming increasingly important in reducing our dependency on single-use plastic or disposable plastic. On ‘International Plastic Bag Free Day’, &TV actors from Uttar Pradesh – Yogesh Tripathi aka Daroga Happu Singh from Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, Ambrish Bobby aka Ramesh Prasad Mishra and Farhana Fatema aka Shanti Mishra from Aur Bhai Kya ChalRaha Hai? urge the citizens to adopt greener practices to curb the use of single-use plastics.

Ambrish Bobby, Ramesh Prasad Mishra in &TV’s Aur Bhai Kya ChalRaha Hai? says, “To save our environment, we all need to take collective measures to curtail our dependency and usage of plastic bags. And it all starts from our own homes. Start with replacing plastic bags with either jute or cotton bags, especially when going grocery shopping. Another way is to upcycle glass containers for food storage in your kitchen. Make the right and responsible choice of using paper instead of plastics, wherever and whenever possible. In Lucknow, to eliminatearound 2,000 tonnes of single-use plastic, the state government has set a unique and ambitious pro-environmental measure of constructing 1500 km of single-use plastic roads. I think there is a lot to learn from this and do our bit in reducing plastic pollution.”

Farhana Fatema, Shanti Mishra in &TV’s Aur Bhai Kya ChalRaha Hai? says, “Plastic Bag Free Day is a wonderful

opportunity to spread the word and remind people of the persisting environmental worries. When we disapprove of any plastic use, we support and welcome the natural fabrics of the earth. Our aim as citizens should not just limit the eradication of single-use plastic but also promote jute, flax, and cotton variants. From feminine hygiene to even your toothbrush can all be a part of this revolutionary change. Ditch the plastic, stay fantastic!”

Yogesh Tripathi, Daroga Happu Singh in &TV’s Happu Ki Ultan Paltan says, “We need to reduceYogesh Tripathi, Daroga Happu Singh our dependency on plastics. To recoup the environmental hazards of plastic use, we need to take corrective measures. We can start as small as treating our home plants to natural fertilisers or pruning nearby shrubs. Keep plastic at bay and remind people of the horrors it can do. A clean-up drive within the perimeters of your home will give you a fair idea of the plastic consumption in and around. Please speak to your local vendors and request them to make the switch! I urge everyone to go plastic-free and pollution-free.”

Happu Ki Ultan Paltan is a dream come true for me” says Jasneet Kaur Kant

“Happu Ki Ultan Paltan is a dream come true for me” says Jasneet Kaur Kant

&TV’s Happu Ki Ultan Paltan that has been entertaining viewers and making them laugh until they cry will soon see a new face. Ready to step into Malaika’s shoes is actor Jasneet Kaur Kant. Born and brought up in Mumbai, Jasneet has done a few cameo roles on the small screen. Excited to be a part of the paltan, here is Jasneet talking about her role and show in a candid conversation.

1. Tell us about your role in the show, and how did you bag it? Is this your first role on TV?
I play the role of Malaika who is Happu (Yogesh Tripathi) and Rajesh’s (Kamna Pathak) second child. She is dabang in nature but at the same time, immensely protective when it comes to her family. Koi aafat aaye toh apne family ki kawach banne ko taiyaar rehti hai. A dedicated personality, Malaika wishes to join the Haryana Police force and maintains a strict discipline-driven lifestyle. From waking up early to working out and preparing meals, Malaika is always on track. Overall, she is a strong, mature and brave girl who always stands by the right and does not even hesitate to question her own parents if they are in the wrong. When I heard Malaika’s character narration, I instantly knew that this role was a perfect fit for me. I submitted my first audition video from home and eventually, was called to the production house where everything was finalised. While I have cameo role experiences, this is my first time in a full-fledged role. I am really excited and I hope the viewers resonate with my onscreen portrayal of Malaika.

2. Have you watched Happu Ki Ultan Paltan before? What do you like about the show?
I have not only watched Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, but have loved all the episodes till date! It is a light-hearted show that you can binge watch anytime of the day and still not get bored. Poore din ki mehnat ke baad, TV pe ye show dekh lo, toh bas saari thakan gayab si hojati hai. Kaafiyon ke liye toh ye ek stress buster show hai. Another aspect of the show is that every character comes with their own unique quirks and style of comedy. Also, the script itself is so funny that combining it with the effortless acting of the artists makes it as a comedy masterpiece on television!

3. How challenging is it to play a role that someone has played before ?
It is in a way challenging as someone has already played the character before and viewers are used to it. Also initially, there was a lot of curiosity going around that Kon hai jo Malaika ka role play karne wali hai? Will she be able to do justice to the character? Such questions are bound to come about and I have no qualms about it as it is human nature. But the best part is that whole production team is very supportive, they have given me the liberty to understand the character and own it my way! And the rest is on my shoulder to give justice and make space in the audience’s heart as their new Malaika!

4. What newness / freshness will you be bringing to the character?
Otherwise seen as a girl donning a typical Indian attire and mouthing dialogues with a Haryanvi accent to it, the Malaika of Happu Ki Ultan Paltan will be seen in a refreshing new avatar. While maintaining the essence of the character I shall be seen in a chic and rather urban look, wearing modern clothes. You will feel that your favourite Malaika has gone through a makeover. And of course, I will bring in certain improvisations to make the acting look effortless. So watch out for the new Malaika who is a combination of dabaangai andaaz with a stylish twist.

5. How has your experience been so far?
In the initial days, it was pretty challenging for me get used to the language, as I was not familiar with the Haryanvi dialect. But the team has been so supportive that eventually things fell into place. Now I am more comfortable with the language, agar koi abhi bhi mujhe koi sawal puchle toh mein Haryanvi mein uska jawab de sakti hun. My co-actors are so friendly and welcoming that they make work seem fun! All the actors irrespective of their experience in the industry, have made me feel so comfortable around them that I could walk straight to them ask for help if I am stuck with some scene. Looking forward to an amazing journey with the team of Happu Ki Ultan Paltan.

Celebrity mothers on their special bond with their kids…

Moms are our world, our rock and our first best friend. Someone who inspires, guides, and shows us the way and encourage us to fly high. Most importantly, she is the one who has always got our back! This Mother’s Day, &TV actors and real-life moms, Himani Shivpuri (Katori Amma, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan), Shubhangi Atre (Angoori Bhabi, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai) and Farhana Fatema aka (Shanti Mishra, Aur Bhai Kya Chal Raha Hai?) speak about their special bond with their children. Himani Shivpuri, aka Katori Amma, shares, “My child is my world. We are one team. Our bond is unique and very special. When I moved to Mumbai, my husband passed away soon after my second film. In such challenging times, my son Katyayan was my pillar of strength. When he looked at me and said, ‘Mummy, I want to come to Mumbai with you’. I still remember the innocence and care in his eyes for me. He truly makes me feel on top of the world. The whole motherhood experience has been wonderful. He has been with me through thick and thin. Each day is special with him and has brought so much happiness into my life. Being a single working mother is quite challenging, but I sailed through this journey as my son was my constant support at every step. He is one of the most understanding and supportive people, and I feel blessed to have a son like him! On Mothers’ Day, I want to wish for all single mothers’ abundance of strength and courage. It is not easy, but the journey is worthwhile when you see your children growing into good people. Single mothers are a perfect example of the ultimate sacrifice that women make so that their children are happy and have everything they need. Kudos to their spirit and strength!” Shubhangi Atre, aka Angoori Bhabi, shares, “When I was taking the baby steps in this industry, I wasn’t alone. My husband was there by my side. Moreover, I was a mother to two-year-old daughter Ashi and leaving her at home to start my career left me in a dilemma. An initial couple of years of my career were full of difficulties, but my family became my strength. If I was going for an outdoor shoot for 15 days, I never had to worry about what will happen to my daughter. She is a very mature girl and does everything to make me feel special. Both of us thoroughly enjoy each second of our mother-daughter time. We do household chores together, play indoor games, and then we talk, laugh. It is all about togetherness, and our bond is exceptional. Happy Mother’s Day to all moms, everywhere, for everything you do! Every mother is amazing in her way. For the sacrifices you make and the love you give.” Farahana Fatema, aka Shanti Mishra, shares, “I share a powerful bond with my 10-year-old daughter Maisara. She is my world, my everything and my most precious gift to me. I always wanted a daughter, and I am blessed with a beautiful one. She is extremely affectionate as a person and very loving and caring. Sometimes, she behaves like a mother to me than being a daughter. She brings so much happiness and joy into my life and uplifts me when I am low, takes care of me when I am sick, and we share so many things. We are more like friends and share everything. We have a great sense of comfort, trust and an inseparable bond that makes our relationship all the more unique. The only thing about Maisara that upsets me is her obsession with online games, so sometimes we end up arguing the same, but thodanokjhok to har ma-betimeinhotahai, hainaa? I wish all the amazing and fabulous mothers out there a very Happy Mother’s Day.”

These cases are inspired by real life incidents and showcase different stories of most inconceivable, unimaginable crimes and unravel its mystery, approach, and methodology. There have been so many shows on a variety of genres, but Mauka-E-Vardaat stood out for me. After understanding the concept in detail, I realized that the show had a refreshingly different concept of implausible and unbelievable crime stories beyond belief that will compel the viewers to know, Yeh Hua Toh Kaise Hua? When one watches a crime show, the main hook point for them to know how-it-happened, who-did-it, and what-happens-next, but this show will intrigue them to ask howdunnit than a whodunnit. I am eagerly looking forward on how the series pans out as a lot of hard work has gone into it and of course the continued love, support and affection of all my viewers.”
