The Great Indian Teacher Award’ at LEAD Global Conclave 2021

New Delhi, India: Prof. Prem Vrat, Pro-Chancellor; Professor of Eminence and Chief Mentor, The NorthCap University, Gurugram, has been awarded the prestigious ‘The Great Indian Teacher Award’ or #GITA Award at LEAD Global Conclave 2021. He was also a Guest of Honour on the occasion.

While celebrating Teachers’ Day 2021, GSRC, in association with the Indian Observer Post organized ‘LEAD Global Conclave2021’ on Saturday, Sept 4, 2021, at India International Centre, New Delhi. The theme of the conclave was ‘India@75 – Preparing for New Education Policy: Roadmap for Vision to Action’.

During the event, the #GITA award was conferred on many legendary personalities including Prof. Prem Vrat, Pro-Chancellor, NCU, Prof. Dr. Murali Manohar Joshi, Padma Vibhushan Prof. Dr. K Kasturirangan, Padma Vibhushan Prof. R.A. Mashelkar, Prof. K.K Aggarwal, Chairman, NBA, Padma Shri Dr. Shyam Singh Shashi, Prof. Ranbir Singh, Founder Vice-Chancellor, NLU, Delhi to name a few.

On the occasion, Prof. Prem Vrat, Pro-Chancellor; Professor of Eminence and Chief Mentor, The NorthCap University said, “I would like to thank the organizing committee of LEAD Global Conclave 2021 and GSRC for bestowing me with this prestigious award. Teaching has always been my passion. Right from the beginning of my career, my aim was to bring the best in the Indian Education System. A celebrated researcher and academician, Prof. Vrat has also been awarded the prestigious Distinguished Educator Award at the first Indian Industrial Engineering & Operations Management (IEOM) Conference in Bangalore, India by IEOM Society International based in the USA.

Prof. Vrat has been associated with The NorthCap University since September 2011. Having extensive experience of more than 53 years in teaching, research, management development, and consultancy, he spearheaded numerous top universities and institutes across India. Prof. Vrat is an Honorary Professor at IIT Delhi and an AICTE- Distinguished Chair Professor.

He has published more than 504 research papers in reputed journals and proceedings of international and national conferences. He has authored/co-authored 7 books and completed five sponsored projects and 36 consultancy assignments.

Recipient of multiple awards and recognitions, Professor Vrat was conferred Doctor of Engineering (Honoris Causa) by Bundelkhand University; Distinguished Alumnus Award by IIT Kharagpur; Distinguished Service Award by IIT Delhi; Outstanding Contribution Award for National Development by IIT Delhi Alumni Association; Uttaranchal Ratan Award; Lillian Gilbreth Award; Dr. CM Jacob Gold Medal and 15 Best Paper medals/ prizes. Prof. Prem Vrat was honored with the National Systems Gold Medal by the Systems Society of India (SSI), and Honorary Membership of IIIE, the highest recognition by IIIE. SAE India Foundation bestowed on him the ‘Guru’ Award for his outstanding contributions.

The North Cap University adds two feathers to its cap with “One District One Green Champion Award” and Top Ranking in THE WEEK

New Delhi, India: It’s a matter of great pride for The NorthCap University to receive a notable ranking in The Week’s India’s Best Universities 2021. NCU added another feather by also receiving the Champion Award for Gurugram district under the ‘ONE DISTRICT ONE GREEN CHAMPION AWARD’ category. This year the competition was conducted online by the Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education, Dept. of Higher Education under Ministry of Education, Govt. of India for the implementation of Swachhta Action Plan 2020-21.

With university rankings as an often go-to indicator for students and parents, it is a great honor for NCU to be recognized in the Top 10 Non-Government Multi-disciplinary universities in North India conducted by THE WEEK-Hansa Research Survey. THE WEEK and Hansa Research conducted the Best University Survey 2021 to rank the best multidisciplinary and technical universities in the country. A primary survey was conducted with 259 academic experts, spread across 15 cities. They were asked to nominate and rank the top 20 universities in India. With a prestigious ranking of 2 in the Top Non-Government Multi-disciplinary universities in Delhi -NCR, NCU is well on its way to achieving greater heights.

The University has successfully framed the SES REC Action plan and constituted working groups for improving facilities in the campus and the community/ adopted villages in the areas of sanitation and hygiene, waste management, water management, energy conservation, and Greenery post-COVID -19.

Apart from The Week Ranking, NCU has also attained ‘Band A’ ranking (i.e., ranking between 06-25) in the category of ‘University & Deemed to be University (Private-Self-Financed)’ in Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovative Achievement (ARIIA) 2020. The NCU is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the Bar Council of India (BCI), and Accreditation Services for International Colleges (ASIC), U.K.

Prof. (Dr.) Nupur Prakash takes charge as Vice-Chancellor of The NorthCap University

rof. (Dr.) Nupur PrakashNew Delhi, India: The NorthCap University today announced the appointment of Prof. (Dr.) Nupur Prakash as its Vice-Chancellor. In her role, she will head all academic schools and departments and chair the Board of Management, the Academic Council, and all other statutory bodies.

Prior to joining The NorthCap University, she served as the Vice-Chancellor of Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women, Principal of Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology, Dean, School of Engineering and Technology and Dean, School of IT, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.

She earned her Bachelor’s in Electronics and Communication Engineering and Master’s in Computer Science and Technology from IIT Roorkee, where she received the Chancellor’s Medal. She did her Ph.D. in artificial intelligence from Punjab University. She has published and presented more than 100 research papers and articles in national and international journals and conferences. She has been a strong propagator of STEM education for girls and has won many accolades including the “Inspiring Women Edu-leader” in 2014, 22nd Devang Mehta Business School Award for “Outstanding Contribution to Education” and several other laurels. With her sound technical background in technology, she will be at the forefront of driving innovation at The NorthCap University and facilitate its transformation to a digital-first university matching global standards.

Prof Nupur Prakash’s appointment comes on the backdrop of the university’s recent announcement of its tie-up with Arizona State University and Cintana Education. NorthCap University scores perfect 5 QS Stars on Teaching, Online Learning and Employability in QS World University Ratings

Gurugram, India : The NorthCap University (NCU), Gurugram joins an elite group of Indian universities by scoring an overall rating of 4 stars in the prestigious Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Stars Ratings. Less than ten universities in India have this distinction.

QS’s 4-star rating cements NCU’s position among the most sought-after universities of India. The NorthCap University organises vaccination camp for its employees and their immediate family members…

Northcap universityNew Delhi: The NorthCap University (NCU) has announced that it has organized a vaccination camp on 10th June, Thursday at Cafe 10 basement from 9:30 am to 5 pm. The Institute, ranked among one of the leading institutions in North India believes in providing a safe and secure campus for their students, faculty and employees. The vaccination camp service can be availed by all the university employees and their immédiate family members living with them, who are above 18 years of age as of 10th June 2021. The vaccination camp would be conducted by the well-trained staff from Columbia Asia Hospital, Gurugram, who will ensure strict adherence to the Government’s Covid regulations in force

The camp will administer Covishield to all its employees and their family members. The cost of Rs. 1100 per vaccines is being born by the university on humanitarian grounds.

For safety reasons, and as per the ICMR guidelines, the vaccination camp excludes anyone suffering from uncontrolled Blood Pressure (BP), high sugar, diabetes, people with Covid symptoms, etc. Detailed advisory on exclusions is available with the University.

Col. Bikram Mohanty, Registrar, The NorthCap University said, “Considering the dire need for vaccination to protect ourselves and our loved ones’, we have taken it as our collective responsibility to procure and administer the vaccination for the safety of our extended family at NCU. We are trying our best to secure as many lives as we possibly can with the available resources. However, we request all those who have the second dose pending to visit the camp only if they have completed 84 days from their first shot. It is our humble request to all to comply with the government norms and value their time and those of the front line workers contributing at the camp.”

With this drive, NCU aims to create a more significant impact towards curbing the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. Adding to the vaccination drive, the University continues to promote Covid prevention norms, including wearing a mask and maintaining social distancing, and frequent sanitization of the premises.
