Dollar Industries Limited inaugurates 4 MW solar power plant in Tirupur

Chennai, October 2020: Dollar Industries Limited, one of the leading apparel brands in India, commissioned a 4 MW solar power plant at their manufacturing facility in Tirupur. The solar plant is a part of Dollar’s ‘Green Mission’ initiative and has a capacity of generating 75 lakhs power units annually.

Dollar’s objective for installing the solar plant is to not only reduce costs but also make the spinning unit at Tirupur sustainable and self-reliant. To produce 1kg of cotton yarn, the cost of power is approximately Rs. 27-28 which is expected to feed almost 50% of the daily consumption at the spinning unit. Moreover, the solar plant will help in curbing the CO2 emissions by 9000kgs/per day with a sustainable environment.

Sharing his thoughts about the initiative, Mr. Vinod Kumar Gupta, Managing Director, Dollar Industries Limited stated, “We have always been a responsible corporate with a substantial focus on environment-friendly practices. With the current pandemic situation, it is imperative to reduce costs and at the same time also create a clean and eco-friendly manufacturing facility protecting the environment. During the inauguration, Mr. Binay Kumar Gupta, Executive – Managing Director – Promoter stated, “The solar plant has been commissioned by Indway Power Energy Pvt. Ltd., who is the EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) partner from Coimbatore. The power generated from the solar plant will primarily be used for our spinning unit. In case of excess power will be utilized to feed the dyeing unit, which is located at SIPCOT Industrial Park, Perundurai.

From installing a windmill for the energy needs of the manufacturing facility, utilizing Zero Discharge Water Treatment, to recycle and reuse the water waste from the facility, Dollar Industries Limited has always integrated the environmentally friendly initiative in its business practices. These help us to not only reduce costs but also conserve natural resources.”

Dollar Industries Limited donates Anti-Viral Face Masks to Paramilitary Forces in New Delhi

New Delhi, September 21, 2020: Dollar Industries Limited, a prominent name in the hosiery and knitwear segment recently launched its new range of anti-viral products, in association with HealthGuard, Australia. As a part of Dollar’s corporate social responsibility, Dollar Foundation donated 2000 pieces of anti-viral masks to the frontline heroes at CRPF and CISF in New Delhi.

Mr. Pramod Gupta, Director, Dollar Industries Limited met Mr. Rajesh Ranjan, Director General, CISF and handed over 1,000 Anti-Viral face masks to him. Additionally, Mr. Amit Kumar Singh, Regional Head Marketing (North India) at Dollar Industries Limited met Inspector General of CRPF, Mr. Ajay Kumar Yadav and donated 1,000 Anti-Viral face masks to him.

Chennai, 4th September, 2020: Dollar Industries Limited (BSE: 541403; NSE : DOLLAR), one of the leading Garment & Hosiery Company in the country conducted its 27th Annual General Meeting on 1st September, 2020 through Video Conferencing due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Highlights of 27th Annual General Meeting

§ Declaration of dividend @ 85 % i.e. 1.70 per share (on FV Rs. 2 each) on equity shares for FY 2019-20.

§ Adoption of Audited Financial Statements for the FY 2019-20 having consolidated revenue of Rs. 974.03 crores and PAT of 57.34 crores.

During the AGM, the shareholders approved all the resolutions including the adoption of Audited Financial Statements of the company for the FY 2019-20 and approval of final dividend of Rs. 1.70 per share. The cut-off date for final dividend payout was 25th August, 2020.

While addressing the shareholders, Mr. Vinod Kumar Gupta, Managing Director, Dollar Industries Limited said, “The Covid-19 pandemic, has changed and disrupted life for everyone in this country, it is a tough situation where the organization is trying to strike the right balance between employee safety and efficiency. Total Revenue for Q1FY21 stood at Rs.160.17 crore as compared to Rs.233.94 crores for Q1FY20, De-growth of 31.53%. §
Operating Revenue for Q1FY21 stood at Rs.159.99 crore as compared to Rs.233.59 crores for Q1FY20, De-growth of 31.51%. § 
EBITDAfor Q1FY21 stood at Rs.28.83 crore as compared to Rs.27.32 crores for Q1FY20, growth of 5.54%. § 
PATfor Q1FY21 stood at Rs.16.43 crore as compared to Rs.12.90 crores for Q1FY20, growth of 27.47%.
