India’s First map to track content production capabilities across states launched by GoodFellas

Mumbai based content production studio, The Goodfellas Studio, launched a First of its kind India Content Production Status Map recently. The tool offers comprehensive information to track content production capabilities and limitations across 22 states and 37 regions in India affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Marketers, brands, agencies, individual content creators and production houses can use the map (www.goodfellas.studio/covid19) to identify prevalent guidelines and SOPs across states in India to help them take necessary production decisions. The map gathers data from creators across the country and verifies the same against key news and prevalent Government guidelines and sources. The inspiration & the methodology behind this tool have come from the Global Production Status Map created by global creative production platform, Genero.

The free tool effectively breaks down production capabilities across regions in 4 parameters: Post-production and studio production shoots, Small scale studio production with talent, medium-scale production with restrictions and full-scale production possibilities with SOP guidelines to be followed.

The tool not only helps creators make better production decisions but also gives an exposure to locations outside the regular go-to cities like Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi & Bengaluru known for high production and ease of creation capabilities. According to the tool, as of today, states like Kerala, Himachal Pradesh & Madhya Pradesh are more shoot ready than other regions.

Commenting on the development, Co-founder, Goodfellas Studio, Mr Ridhesh Sejpal said,” This tool provides marketers and creators with up-to-date information on the level of production possible across different regions in our country. The Covid-19 guidelines and SOPS are extremely decentralized in India. The virus spread is continuously fluctuating and so are the guidelines in different states. This makes it extremely confusing to keep track of the lockdown guidelines on a day-to-day basis. We endeavour to get all the information in one place and keep it up to date for our fraternity as much as possible. Creators and marketers are clueless about where they can shoot and to what extent. So something like this helps bridge the knowledge gap and also guides the creators to the right region!”

Quote- Organ Donation Day (13 August) Dr Rajiv Kumar, M.Ch – Urology & Renal Transplant & Dr Deepak Dewan, MD, DM- Nephrology, Director of Renal Sciences, Regency Superspeciality Hospital

A person who is living with a loved one who has contracted COVID-19 is at risk of also becoming infected in the absence of proper precautions. This is especially true for post-transplant patients. People with a kidney transplant should consult with the doctor to find out what additional precautions should be taken by them and their caregivers. This might include additional hand washing/sanitizing, face coverings, or other measures. Immunosuppressive medications may place transplant recipients at higher risk for contracting COVID-19 and more so with a possibility of severe disease with increased morbidity & probably mortality, but it’s important to continue taking all medications as prescribed unless a physician suggests otherwise. However, the risk of acquiring COVID-19 from organ donation is low. Donors are screened for COVID-19 symptoms and exposure history and are also tested by RT-PCR. Living donors who have been to high-risk areas or exposed to someone diagnosed or being evaluated for COVID-19 infection are generally being asked to postpone donation for 14 to 28 days after returning and are tested prior to donation. Transplants should not be postponed in individuals who require it on an urgent basis due to compelling health indications.

How to Take Care of Senior Citizens During Pandemic by Dr Behram Pardiwala, internal medicine expert Wockhardt Hospital Mumbai Central

COVID-19 is the virus that causes respiratory disease and in serious cases, it can lead to pneumonia. If one exhibits symptoms such as respiratory symptoms, fever, cough, shortness of breath, and breathing difficulties then he/she may suffer from Coronavirus. More severe cases of COVID-19 can also cause severe acute respiratory syndrome and kidney failure. These symptoms can be particularly dangerous for elderly patients or people with existing health conditions. This is so because the immunity of older people may weaken as they age. The elderly may need a helping hand and they also often need to have people around them. They may have existing comorbidities and recoveries are usually slower and more complicated. They may panic and get anxious as well. Thus, here the role of the family is important in helping them stay in top shape.

Here’s how you can support and lend a helping hand to the senior citizens

· Senior citizens should eat healthily and strengthen their immune system. See to it that you avoid binge eating while at home, and only stick to healthy eating. Say no to junk food as that can take a toll on your health. Go for green leafy vegetables, whole grain foods such as nuts and seeds, and a whole range of fresh fruit and vegetables, particularly for things like Vitamin C.

· Check on them from time to time. Speak to them and allow them to open up about their feelings. Cook for them, bring groceries for them and spend some quality time with the seniors.

· Ensure that you stock up all the medical supplies for your elders. Do not allow them to venture out of the house or come in contact with people who are sick. Make sure that even they follow the social distancing norms and use masks.

· Look for any changes that occur in the elderly as they can also suffer from allergies and infections. Monitor their temperature, blood sugar levels, and blood pressure at home. Check whether they take medications on time. Encourage them to wash their hands from time to time. If need be, stay in touch with the doctor via teleconsultation or video consultation.

· Encourage the elderly people to stay in contact with friends and relatives via calls or video.

· Help them to do light exercises at home. This is so because immobility can invite joint problems.

· Help the elderly people to stay occupied by introducing them to activities such as reading, puzzle-solving, crossword, Ludo, meditation, or listening to music. You can also play indoor games like carrom and chess with your elders.

· Keep your surroundings clean and help the elderly maintain good personal hygiene.

“A step towards self-reliant India” Bidita Bag’s Independence Day video

Babumoshai Bandookbaaz fame actress Bidita Bag recently shared a video to express the tumultuous experience of living amidst a pandemic. The nationwide lockdown, being observed since March 2020 to control virus spread, is causing restlessness among countrymen. Actress Bidita Bag supports famous fashion photographer Somsubhro Sarkaar’s concept through a unique video named ‘Pandemic’ to celebrate 73rd I-DAY and pay tribute to the nation which is fighting a pandemic situation.

Bidita Bag took to her Instagram account to share the message, which read, “A Pandemic. A Lockdown. Life upturned. Humanitarian crisis. A feeling of being caged. Switch from physical to virtual. Uncertainties all around. The collapse of the expected. Yet, from the ashes rise a breed of heroes. The resilience of the human persists, defying all odds.”

The video begins showcasing various struggles faced by human beings during the pandemic.

Famous fashion photographer Somsubhro Sarkaar conceptualized and executed the whole shoot. Somsubhro with the help of Anshul R Gupta, popular film editor, and sound engineer Shaikh Mehboob executed this video. Talking about the video, Som Says, “The immense physical, psychological, social and virtual changes, struggles faced by human beings gave me the idea. Further discussions on the thoughts with multidimensional actor Bidita Bag gave it a structure.”

The collective Indian psyche, obstacles, and unsurpassable courage unfolded in poetry by Rachita Chauhan who penned a long note to go along with the video. Rachita said, “We are living in a wartime situation. A war against COVID. Unpredictability looms large. We stand face to face with our mortality. However, we are also witnessing stories of unsurpassable courage and dedication to duty. Humanity today stands in unison.”

Rima Mishra, founder of Media Tribe who agreed to help spread the video online adds, “No one can stop Somsubhro Sarkaar from creating magic. Even during the pandemic he and Bidita worked hard to shoot this very creative pandemic video. Resilience helps us survive and fight the disease better is what Rachita tells us through her poem. We should reassure ourselves that normalcy will return.”

We the citizens of India admire each and every sacrifice our heroes make for us, the blood, tears, pain, sweat, and fear involved in protecting the nation to make it a better place. With the hope of love and life, spirit and safety, Wishing all soldiers a happy independence day!
