Observance of Ekta Diwas and Vigilance Awareness Week-2022 at NMDC Ltd., Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Commemorating the birth anniversary of Iron Man of India Shri Vallabhbhai Patel and as per the directives of Central Vigilance Commission, observance of Ekta Diwas and inaugural of Vigilance Awareness Week – 2022(VAW-2022) was observed in NMDC on 31 st October 2022. The VAW-2022 would be observed from 31.10.2022 to 06.11.2022 on the theme “Corruption Free India for a Developed Nation”.

On the Inaugural day of VAW-2022, Integrity Pledge was administered by Shri B Vishwanath, CVO, NMDC Ltd. to the employees at its Head Office, Hyderabad. He also read out the message of Hon’ble President on observance of Vigilance Awareness Week 2022. Whereas, Shri B Sahoo, Executive Director(PC) read out the message of Hon’ble Vice President, Shri AK Padhi, Executive Director(Commercial) read out the message of Hon’ble Prime Minister & Shri M. Jaypal Reddy, Executive Director (RP) read out the messages of Hon’ble Central Vigilance Commission, respectively, on observance of VAW-2022. The pledge administering ceremony was also held across all the Projects/R&D & Regional Offices(ROs) of NMDC Ltd. located in the states of Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand & New Delhi which enabled another five thousand employees posted over there to take the Integrity Pledge simultaneously, duly following health precautions suggested due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Various activities including individual & inter-departmental competitions and sensitization programmes have been planned for the employees, school children, security & other outsourced personnel, vendors, suppliers & other stakeholders during the Vigilance Awareness
Week-2022 at NMDC which will culminate on 05.11.2022 with Valedictory Function & distribution of Prizes to the winners of various competitions.

On the inaugural day of VAW 2022 a marathon/ Run for Unity was organized at CK Naidu, Cricket Stadium for NMDC employees & school children. Chief Guest, NMDC’s Chief Vigilance Officer Shri B. Vishwanath, IRSS flagged off the Unity Run. In the afternoon, a lecture on the theme of VAW 2022 was arranged at NMDC H.O building wherein the eminent personality & Keynote speaker Shri AS Rajan, IPS Director SVP, National Police Academy Hyderabad delivered his lecture. Shri S. Rajan shared his experiences on combating corruption.

On this occasion, Shri Sumit Deb, CMD, NMDC said, “Our Vigilance Department has been proactive in bringing out various measures to improve consistency in decision-making and facilitating transparency. NMDC is institutionalizing integrity in its system and as public servants, we must continue to ensure intolerance towards corruption.”

With Grit and Determination, Small Town Juice Vendor Breaks Glass Ceiling, Cracks RPSC PTI Exam

1st November, Jodhpur: Fortune favors the brave. If you work hard, are persistent toward your goals, and are focused, you can achieve anything possible. This is the story of 27-year-old Bhawani Singh Bhati, a juice vendor in Jodhpur, who has recently cleared exams for Physical Training Instructor conducted by the RPSC.
After graduation, Singh started the organic juice stall in front of the famous Ashoka gardens in Jodhpur to be independent and manage finances on his own. “I come from a small village near Jodhpur. I could not depend on my parents after my graduation. I set up this juice store to ensure that I can earn some money and fund my education. “
Over the years, Bhawani appeared for more than 20 competitive exams, including a clutch of Rajasthan and central government exams, but was not able to crack them. He did not lose hope and continued to look for better opportunities while managing his store. Recently, he relied on the Utkarsh App and began taking lessons. The app also allows unlimited access of the content, which helps in revision for the candidates,multiple tests, and excellent faculty support helped Bhawani fulfill his dream and crack the PTI exam.
Bhawani’s day starts at 4 in the morning when he wakes up to start work on preparing the juices for early morning joggers and tourists. Work at the stall keeps him busy throughout the day. He used small breaks in the afternoon to revise and studied at his house, once he downed shutters for the day. “I was confident that hard work will make me successful. I am thrilled that I have been selected for this prestigious post. The Utkarsh App, with its myriad features, was a true game changer. I was also inspired by Dr. Nirmal Gehlot.
Dr. Nirmal Gehlot, the CEO and Founder of Utkarsh Classes and Edutech said, “Many students tend to make excuses and give up quickly. Bhawani is an inspiration as he not only managed to stand on his own feet, he did not give up and has finally cracked the much-coveted spot. Mumbai Urja Marg’s Job-Oriented Training Programme empowers youth with sustainable livelihood opportunities

Mumbai, November 1, 2022: Mumbai Urja Marg Limited (MUML), a major upcoming power transmission infrastructure project in Mumbai, started a job-oriented training program to train youth in Mumbai and MMR over subsequent batches. The first batch was a resounding success wherein many students got trained and because of that started technical jobs as electricians. Continuing the momentum and learnings from the first batch, the second batch has been launched which has attracted more people to join the program, which is fully sponsored by MUML. The training program allows young men and women to seek industry-relevant skill training to help them find long-term employment opportunities and better pay.

The event was inaugurated by Shri Ganpat Gaikwad, MLA, Kalyan East, Maharashtra; Shri Ninad Pitale, Project Director, MUML in the presence of dignitaries from Mumbai Urja Marg, India, and Niharika Foundation. The event also witnessed the felicitation of students from the first batch who successfully completed the electrician training program and the majority of them got placed.

Vignesh Jadhav, a student who has been selected for training, said, ‘For youngsters like me, it is a great opportunity. I appreciate that the organizers initiated such a career-focused training program that will improve our skills and open up new prospects for us.’

Another student who got placed, Mahesh Prakash Ahir, expressed his gratitude for starting work as an electrician as soon as he completed the Electrician Training Programme. He says, ‘I’m excited to execute the new skill sets which he had learned during the program.’

Nitin Mengal also shared his journey of becoming employable after doing a job-oriented training program. He says, ‘The training program opened new possibilities and opportunities for youngsters like us.’

Speaking about this initiative, Mr. Ninad Pitale, Project Director, Mumbai Urja Marg, congratulated the students and said, ‘Mumbai Urja Marg is committed to training aspiring youth to create sustainable livelihood opportunities that will ensure inclusive growth not only for them but for their families as well.’

A training program like this one is in line with the government’s goal of ‘Kaushal Bharat-Kushal Bharat’ which aims to bring a meaningful impact to the lives of these students and help them grow in their careers.

ICCS appoints Mr. Rajnish Sharma as its Chief Business Development Officer

New Delhi, 1st November 2022: ICCS, one of the leading BPM services providers in India, takes pride in announcing the appointment of Rajnish Sharma as its Chief Business Development Officer.

Rajnish Sharma is a highly driven and seasoned BPM industry veteran with extensive experience in business development. He has 34 years of total experience, 20 of which has been dedicated to the BPM industry. Prior to joining ICCS, he spent the last 15 years with Intelenet Global Services (acquired by Teleperformance around 2018) leading India and global business development efforts. As part of his tenure with Intelenet, Mr. Sharma headed their India market business development from 2012 till 2017; and later contributed to international efforts.

Additionally, he also led key strategic projects such as captive carve-outs, re-badging of client operations, business process re-engineering, and customized target operating model creation (for clients) while managing multi-geography engagements. Mr. Sharma also helped set up Intelenet’s Australia portfolio prior to the India BD Head role, and subsequent to the India assignment revitalized the EU operations in Poland by getting on board global clients. In the past, he has also worked for EXL Service, Honeywell International, and Taj Group of Hotels.
