Istituto Marangoni’s Students From the Milan and Florence Campuses Showcased at Graduate Fashion Week International 2022, as Part of the Fdci X Lakmé Fashion Week in Mumbai

Mumbai, Monday, 1st November 2022:

Yesterday, students from acclaimed Italian Fashion Design school, Istituto Marangoni’s Milan and Florence campuses showcased their collections at the prestigious FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week that concluded in Mumbai last night.

In association with Graduate Fashion Week International (GFWi) – the world’s largest showcase of BA fashion talent, bringing physical and ground-breaking digital showcases to its audiences, this year the show debuted in India with the aim to elevate exceptional talents from their international member institutes to a global audience. GWFi aims to facilitate important conversations around fashion education and the future of the fashion industry worldwide with live talks, webinars, and a catwalk showcase at FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week.

As part of the fashion showcase, 2 students from Istituto Marangoni presented their collections at the event. The details of each are as follows:

  • A student from Istituto Marangoni’s Milan campus, Francesco Imberti’s collection was showcased as a Reflection on gender identity, individual and collective identity, and the importance of cultivating femininity. Inspired by the feelings of love and rejection one learns during a tender age, his garments demonstrate how it is possible to appropriate a language through the use of the body and redeem it from every patriarchal connotation. Each garment has one size and no gender. All patterns originate from a rectangle, producing zero waste and disconnecting from any socio-cultural meaning given by history to shape and volumes of traditional pattern making.
  • Meanwhile, Istituto Marangoni’s Florence Campus graduate, Xing Xing Su’s collection –Le Givre – represents a connection between her and the artist Katharine Morling and her ceramics. The simplicity, the monochrome of white, the flowers, the dew, and the magic of nature present themselves in a unique and impactful visual feast. Every plant, every blade of grass, every and each stone is dressed in sparkling white flowers, where a droplet of dew it could stop it becomes hundreds of tiny sparkling crystals. Under the magic of nature, this presents a unique visual feast. In this world, black becomes the most striking color below the coverage of white to represent the depth and foundation of everything. Fascinated by her very vivid, simple, yet detailed work focused on black and white, the designer developed a collection using a 3D pen that resulted in many designs as manipulation, where the abstract of nature is combined with traditional craftsmanship and new digital techniques as a reminder of the presence of humanity in all and around.

Speaking about Istituto Marangoni’s student’s participation in FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week, Ms. Diana Marian Mark, Director of Education, Istituto Marangoni – Milan, said, “it is an immense honor and pleasure to present our graduate student’s accomplishment in an international showcase like GFWi and Lakmé Fashion Week, substantiating the wide-ranging and global presence of Istituto Marangoni worldwide but especially in Mumbai where we are an established education provider since 2017. The collection we exhibited in this occasion is the one of Francesco Imberti, winner of the BEST talent of Istituto Marangoni Milano 2022, a zero waste- no gender- all sizes collection, that in its sustainable and inclusive values represents Francesco’s unique sensibility regarding the world he and many young creatives are experiencing today.”

Ms. Francesca Tavanti, Director of Education, Istituto Marangoni – Florence, added, “Istituto Marangoni’s international approach and its solid network allow our students to participate year after year in the worldwide most prestigious events in the fashion education field. We couldn’t be more proud of their achievements: a springboard that prepares them for a thriving career. GFW International has been a unique opportunity for our Fashion Design Chinese student Xingxing Su, who showcased to an international audience the perfect combination of our School values: technologies and Florentine traditional craftsmanship.”

Carlos Pena: At Fatorda, I want fans to make life difficult for the opponents

November 1st 2022, That’s how I last played here. I know about the passion the fans have for football and the Club. They have always had our back and I’m sure they will be there for us again.

“Last time, we couldn’t get any point despite trying till the last minute. We learnt a lot and now look forward. I want to thank the fans who traveled to Hyderabad, you guys are wonderful. We are waiting for you on Thursday in Fatorda. Together we are stronger!

“I really feel that we are one team, and we need to create an environment that makes our opponents afraid every time they think of playing in Goa, to make their lives on the pitch difficult. And I promise that we will fight to put a smile on our fans’ faces and to make them happy.”

Going to Fatorda, a special feeling
One can say it’s fate, others, just coincidence. When FC Goa walks out to the pitch on Thursday night, it will be 972 days since the Goa faithful experienced a home match at the PJN Stadium in Fatorda. Pena brought down the curtains on his playing career the last time the Gaurs visited their fortress and now he will be looking to consolidate on a bright start to his coaching career. The Spaniard helped script many a memorable night at Fatorda. And now he looks back at his time in the Orange of FC Goa with much fondness.

“It gives me chills thinking about going back to Fatorda. It’s a special feeling. All of us are very excited. We are looking forward to being back in the stadium, playing in front of our fans. And hopefully, we can give them a victory,” the Spaniard stated.

“I remember the trips to the stadium before every matchday. The colours would get more Orange as we got closer to Fatorda. Looking at them welcoming us to the stadium – it made us feel like we were coming home.

“Last time I was on the pitch, I didn’t know that would be my last time playing. No one knew that would be the last time in so many years, the fans would see their own team. This has been a learning experience for all of us around the world. It has taught us that we need to celebrate every moment that we have together.”

e-Ashwa Automotive Founder launches Sampoorn EV

New Delhi, November 1st, 2022: Vikas Gupta, Founder, and ex-CEO of Ghaziabad-based electric vehicle company e-Ashwa Automotive Pvt Ltd has announced the launch of another EV venture under the name Sampoorn EV Pvt Ltd.

Sampoorn EV will provide a complete (sampoorn) and holistic EV ecosystem platform to small local EV players who have good products but do not have the required infrastructure, mainly a retail network to market and sell their products beyond their local region. The company will assist small local EV companies to set up, create and build brands and products and all activities thereafter including purchase, sales, services, repair, maintenance, and support which will be part of the offerings by Sampoorn EV.

As part of creating a complete EV ecosystem, Sampoorn EV will set up multi-brand EV retail stores in different parts of the country in a phase manner to house EV products and accessories by different EV brands. Currently, the company does not plan to have its own Brand and Products. The tagline of Sampoorn EV is “A Brand Agnostic EV Ecosystem”.

Speaking on the launch of his new EV venture, Vikas Gupta, Founder, Sampoorn EV Pvt Ltd, said,  “With favourable government policies and faster adoption of Electric Vehicles by the Auto sector, EV is certainly going to be the future of mobility. However, due to lack of better infrastructure, promising local level EV players having good & affordable products are unable to reach the large pool of customers in the country thereby restricting their growth. The idea behind launching Sampoorn EV is to bridge this very gap.”

Speaking further on this new initiative, Mr. Gupta said, “It is an effort towards keeping all the small local players in the EV segment alive as they are contributing silently towards economic development by generating huge employment as well as cleansing of the environment which otherwise gets polluted with fossil fuel based vehicles.”

It is estimated that more than 95% of the total EV players are in the category which is building on sales and distribution networks as compared to 5% players who are in the category of building technology, new design, and product engineering. Currently, the EV industry is in a growing phase with over 500 small local players. This scenario is going to change in the future with only 7-10 players remaining in the market post-consolidation. In order to address this and also provide a level playing field to EV companies having sound business models, Sampoorn EV plans to create a common ecosystem for small local players in the sales and distribution network category.  This ecosystem support will be available to EV companies at a nominal fee that suits their budget so that equal opportunity for growth is available to all such small local EV players in the country.

Before setting up Sampoorn EV, Vikas Gupta founded e-Ashwa Automotive about 5 years ago and today it has become one of the fastest-growing affordable electric vehicle players in electric 2-Wheelers and 3-Wheleers segments.
