India, June 2022: Forestry Innovation Consulting India Pvt Ltd, the crown agency of the provincial Government of British Columbia (B.C.), popularly known as Canadian wood, successfully managed to become the talking point at the India Wood 2022 exhibitions with its beautifully carved, unique and trendy furniture that are made from the legally harvested and certified wood species from the sustainably managed forests of British Columbia, Canada.

The India Wood event is an international trade fair for the wood & woodworking industry including re-man products, manufacturing technologies, tools & machinery, coatings & adhesives, and other related wood industry products. It is an excellent opportunity for the wood products, woodworking, and allied products industry to showcase their unique products.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Pranesh Chhibber – Country Director, Canadian Wood, said, “This year we have done a little differently than the last couple of years. This year, we are putting as much emphasis on re-man applications at the exhibition. There were doors, windows, furniture, a wardrobe, and a kitchen made of Canadian wood species showcased at our stall. India Wood is a perfect opportunity for people from different spheres of the woodworking industry to connect. We connect developers with architects, architects with contractors, and contractors with wood suppliers and so on.” 

This year Canadian Wood has partnered with renowned manufacturers in and around Bengaluru and provided them with wood to create products made out of various Canadian wood species to showcase at the exhibition. The emphasis is primarily on furniture, Doors, Door frame & Windows, Wood Interiors, and outdoor applications each section of the stall was given to individual manufacturers to showcase their products made of Canadian Wood. The bedroom furniture was made by Kalatmak Spatial Systems, Bengaluru, the living room furniture was made by Angira Interiors LLP, Bengaluru, the sliding doors, and windows were made by Kelachandra Veneers, Bengaluru, and the Pergola was made by Nesca Homes, Hyderabad. They designed the entire theme in earthy and warm tones with elegant aesthetics and ambient furniture applications.

Canadian Wood has always been contributing to the skill development of India by supporting through collaborations. Canadian Wood has contributed and supported Furniture & Fittings Skill Council for the Skill India competition. Winners of IndiaSkills 2022 will represent India at WorldSkills 2022, Shanghai. Three competitions in which India is competing are Carpentry, Joinery, and Cabinet Making; which are very distinctive trades that require processing and preparation of wood differently. Canadian Wood has been contributing by providing resources and making this whole initiative a reality in itself.
