Vi Expands 5G to Chandigarh After Strong Mumbai Launch
Chandigarh, April 30, 2025: Leading telecom operator Vodafone Idea (Vi), announced the launch of its 5G services in Chandigarh Region including Chandigarh, Mohali, Zirakpur and Kharar. This expansion follows the successful 5G rollout in Mumbai this March, where over 70% of eligible users are already experiencing 5G services, and contributing up to 20% of the total data traffic on the network. Vi has also expanded its 5G services to Patna recently.
As part of the expansion, Vi users with 5G devices in the Chandigarh region will gain immediate access to Vi’s 5G services. This rollout will continue to expand across the circle of Punjab in the future, as the 5G handsets penetration grows and demand for 5G services increases.
