ReDefine bolsters VFX and CG Character and Creature capabilities with experienced new European team

London: Global animation and visual effects companyReDefinehas further expanded its presence in Europe with the onboarding of an experienced VFX team based in Sofia, Bulgaria.

The talented group of VFX supervisors, producers and artistsspecialise in CG character and creature animation, delivering end-to-end VFX services for high profile projects across films, TV, advertising and games. They have already started work on their first project for ReDefine, to be announced shortly.

Key members of the team joining ReDefine include:

● VFX Supervisor Peter Dimitrov whose credits include ‘Angel Has Fallen’ and ‘The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard’
● VFX Producer Elena Rapondzhieva whose experience spans VFX, animation and gaming. Elena’s credits include ‘Hellboy’, ‘London Has Fallen’, ‘Rambo: Last Blood’ and ‘Assassin’s Creed: Origins’
● 2D Supervisor DragostinValev who has worked on TV projects such as ‘The Terror’(Visual Effects Society Awards nominee) and ‘Genius’(Primetime Emmy Awards nominee), and films such as ‘Wonder Woman’ and ‘Blade Runner 2049’
● CG Supervisor LazarinKouchev who has worked on projects such as ‘Rambo: Last Blood’, ‘The Outpost’ and ‘The Legend of Hercules’

ReDefine has recently delivered VFX services for shows such as ‘The White Tiger’ (Netflix), ‘The Undoing’ (HBO) and ‘The 100’ (The CW), and animation services for shows such as ‘100% Wolf’, ‘Rock Dog 2’ and ‘The Legend of Hanuman’.

Corey Smith appointed North American Creative Supervisor at ReDefine Montreal as the studio continues to grow

ReDefine, the innovative animation and visual effects services company has appointed Corey Smith as North American Creative Supervisor in a further boost to its service offering.

In his new role, Corey will play a leading part in the studio’s creative direction, providing guidance, oversight and support for the projects going through ReDefine’s Montreal hub. He will also work closely with ReDefine’s global creative leadership team and support the development of new projects, co-productions and internal intellectual property in North America.

Corey joins ReDefine from DNEG, where he was Head of CG in Montreal. Prior to this, Corey worked as part of DNEG’s Feature Animation team, having previously spent many years at Walt Disney Animation Studios. At Disney, Corey worked on projects such as ‘Dinosaur’, ‘Chicken Little’, ‘Tinker Bell’ and ‘Meet the Robinsons’, and was VFX Supervisor on ‘Gnomeo and Juliet’. He is a graduate of the University of Buffalo with a BS in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering.

Launched in 2019, ReDefine provides creative visual effects and animation services to expanding international markets and independent filmmakers everywhere. Leveraging DNEG’s groundbreaking technology infrastructure alongside a highly client-centric approach, ReDefine tailors its work to the individual needs of each project and client.

Corey’s appointment will bolster the creative team at ReDefine as it continues to deliver a growing pipeline of work. Current ReDefine visual effects projects include ‘Sweet Girl’ and ‘The White Tiger’ for Netflix; ‘The Undoing’ for HBO; ‘Brahmastra’, written and directed by Ayan Mukherjee and starring Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt; ‘83’ for director Kabir Khan; and ‘Kung Fury 2’ for director David Sandberg and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Michael Fassbender. ReDefine is also in production on animation projects ‘Rock Dog 2’, ‘Rock Dog 3’ and ‘The Silk Road Rally’, having recently delivered ‘100% Wolf’, a co-production with Flying Bark Productions which has been enjoying great box office success around the world.

ReDefine appoints PC Vikram to head their newly launched Pre-Production Services

ReDefine, the visual effects and animation services company has announced the appointment of PC Vikram to head their newly launched Pre-Production services. His installation at the head of the department will see him helm a full range of services that include concept art, storyboarding, pre-visualization and virtual production, leveraging DNEG’s market-leading technology infrastructure across these fields.

“Our clients are increasingly turning to ReDefine to get involved earlier in the production process, and this early collaboration brings efficiencies throughout the lifecycle of the project,” said Rohan Desai, Global Head of ReDefine. “I’m delighted to welcome Vikram to the team to head up this new offering. He brings many years of experience in animation, films and games and he will be a great asset as we partner with our clients to help develop their projects.”

Vikram joins ReDefine as the Head of Pre-Production based in the company’s Mumbai studio. Prior to joining ReDefine, Vikram enjoyed a stellar 25-year career as an art director, story-writer and animation supervisor working for reputed global production studios such as Disney, Dreamworks, Nickelodeon, Technicolor, Zynga and Square Enix, where he contributed to big gaming franchises.

Speaking about the movie, Vikram said, “I am delighted to be joining ReDefine at this pivotal time in its development. ReDefine is working on some of the biggest projects in the markets that it serves, and I can’t wait to start exploring the potential of developing concepts in this brave new era of virtual production.”

ReDefine is currently in production on the epic Bollywood blockbuster ‘Brahmastra’ starring Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor. Other projects include ‘Kung Fury 2’ starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Michael Fassbender, ‘Sweet Girl’ starring Jason Momoa, ‘83’ starring Ranveer Singh and the latest season of ‘The 100’. Animation projects currently in production at ReDefine include ‘The Silk Road Rally’ and ‘Rock Dog 2’.
