International Drone consulting Firm, AGI welcomes the decision of the policy makers

New Delhi: As per the recent decision of Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) and Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), it has granted conditional exemption for Covid vaccine delivery via drone to the Government of Telangana. This move is welcomed by the Alternative Global India (AGI), India’s largest drone consulting firm. Also present internationally, AGI has helped two consortiums to obtain trial permissions.

As per the notification, the drone usage permission has been granted for conducting experimental delivery of Covid-19 vaccines within Visual Line of Sight (VLOS) Range using drones. The permission exemption is valid for a period of one year or until further orders. These exemptions shall be valid only if all conditions and limitations as stated for the respective entities are strictly adhered to.

Further giving insights on the trial Mr. Ankit Kumar, Tech Investor & Serial Entrepreneur said, “This is the first of its kind of trials being conducted. Even during this second wave of Covid, MoCA and DGCA officials are kind enough to approve the trials. The trial would ideally validate drone delivery mechanism for Covid Vaccines. After the completion of the trial, this may be adopted by the state and centre to deliver Covid vaccines to multiple regional corridors on priority.”

The team may be facing a lot of challenges while doing different types of flights but the whole idea to do this is to learn and create ways to eradicate those challenges. All safety issues have been carefully laid in advance which the pilots need to adhere to so there are no risks to people on the ground, property or aircraft in the sky.”

Trials will also assist in assessing conditions such as population, degree of isolation, geography etc to identify regions that specifically require drone deliveries.

The grant of these permissions is intended to achieve the dual objectives of faster vaccine delivery & improved healthcare access by:

· Ensuring primary healthcare delivery at the citizen’s doorstep

· Limiting human exposure to COVID congested or COVID prone areas through aerial delivery

· Ensuring access to health care to the last mile, especially in remote areas

· Possible integration into the middle mile of medical logistics for long range drones

· Improving medical supply chain, especially with a third vaccine expected to be commissioned and millions of doses to be transported across India.

“The key elements that were hindrances in the sector in the past years are now in support of this development. The environment is optimistic, with the right set of people, favourable government regulations and aerial technological advancements, drone delivery will be a game changer very soon,” said Mr. Ankit Kumar

E-Biking to Work

By Mr. Ankit Kumar, CEO Gozero Mobility.

With all the buzz on EVs and the government’s push towards incentives, charging infrastructure, and what not, let us bring to light one specific EV that is silently taking all the cities around the world by storm – the humble, silent, and ever nifty electric bicycle, aka e-bike.s

The typical working professional in an Indian metropolitan city lives within a radius of 10 km from their workspace. However, with the proliferation of motorized vehicles in all metropolitan cities, and the tacit label of status that is attached to the ownership of a motorized vehicle, our roads have become clogged with private cars and motorcycles. This has increased the average living expenses by around 1.2-1.5 lacs annually if you own a car or 30-50 thousand for a motorcycle. Tagging along with this has come numerous problems such as clogged roads, instances of road rage, and accidents, all of which have contributed to time wasted on the road and deteriorating mental health. This is also not to mention, the costs of air pollution and CO2 emissions making life in the city bleaker by the day.

Thanks to COVID-19, shared cabs like Uber Pool, Ola Share have been eliminated from the roads.

And here’s where e-bikes have come to be that light at the end of this tunnel of living in the city. Though the claim may be, the benefits of commuting by an e-bike far outweigh its minuscule cost (not more than 3000 a year) and the benefits that one may see out of commuting by motorcycle/car. The e-bike marries the bicycle and the motorcycle, providing us the best of both worlds – the fitness and light-on-wallet qualities of a bicycle and the effortlessness and swiftness of a motorcycle. The physical fitness offered seamlessly integrates into the busy lives of the average working professional, who are ever more sedentary than before.

But how is this important for corporates and employers? With improvement in physical fitness, and no time is wasted in traffic jams, reduced frustration from road rages and accidents, comes astronomical improvement in the mental health of their workers, thus further improving their efficiency – higher output and reduced leaves due to health issues.

Governments and businesses around the world have come to realize the true benefits of e-biking to work and have worked together in bringing schemes to encourage this habit. The UK government’s scheme of Biking to Work is one such example, where both parties have come together to subsidize the cost of ownership of e-bikes for their employees. Governments around the world have also cordoned off zones and lanes specifically for cycles and e-bikes, measures that have been adopted by the Kolkata government (which has announced 120 km of cycling lanes in the city).

Employers in India have begun to notice the benefits of e-bikes and have started taking the initiative of providing their employees with e-bikes and enjoying the benefits of costs saved and healthy employees. OEM brands working in the space of e-bikes need to join hands together to promote this habit to co-exist within all metropolises in order to make the impact significant on a global scale.

GoZero Mobility & Bharti Realty Collaborate to Run Campaigns promoting Health & Fitness

GoZero Mobility & Bharti Realty Collaborate to Run Campaigns promoting Health & Fitness

New Delhi: GoZero Mobility, a Birmingham based British performance eBike & active wear maker, and Bharti Realty Ltd., the young and vibrant real estate arm of Bharti Enterprises have collaborated for “Eat, Drink And Be Fit” and “Shop Zap Zoom” campaigns between 19th Feb to 7th March at Worldmark, Aerocity and Worldmark, Gurugram receptively.

The campaigns are primarily focused on getting people to engage at these properties. These campaigns also intend to seamlessly integrate a lifestyle of fitness into their customers by gifting a lucky couple with a pair of e-bikes from GoZero’s newly launched Skellig series. With the lockdown, most of the leisure places being out of commission and most of the workforce moving to a culture of work-from-home, personal and professional lives have merged, and people have found it difficult to allocate time for their families and personal fitness. Therefore, GoZero Mobility & Bharti Realty bring a chance to the people to engage together in fun & fitness through e-biking and to enjoy the outdoors with their families safely.

Mr. Ankit Kumar, Founder & CEO, GoZero Mobility said, “We are happy to have partnered with Bharti Realty and support the initiative. At GoZero, we are trying to bridge mobility and fitness and bring impact to the lives of millions. The world is moving towards adapting eBikes for commute and fitness, and the eBike market globally is projected to grow to USD 70 Billion by 2027. India is going to play a very large role in such transitions from Gasoline to Electric and we are here to bring eBikes to many. We look forward to keeping conducting or participating in similar campaigns in the coming months.”

Scenario of Electric Mobility in 2020 & The Expectations for the Coming Year

By Mr. Ankit Kumar, CEO Gozero Mobility

Electric mobility was introduced in India in 2011 and over the last decade has been able to carve a space for itself in the mobility market, inevitably increasing its relevance in the lives of Indians.

In a market that has constantly prioritized mileage and upfront cost over all other factors, EVs were initially relegated to a very niche segment of the population. This was further exacerbated by the lack of charging infrastructure.

However, research in battery technology and increased availability of charging infrastructure (battery swapping or charging stations) have made electric mobility more compatible than before in everyday life. The space of electric mobility has seen the entry of a plethora of entrepreneurs, ranging from budding start-ups to decades-old conglomerates, where all have pitched in their two-cents on building the ecosystem of electric mobility in India. The segments that have grown in leaps and bounds are the two-wheeler and three-wheeler EVs. They have proven to be the most propitious segments in the urban regions and are expected to reach a count of 40 lakh units by 2025.

The unfortunate situation of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has opened the eyes of people and increased their understanding of how they are contributing to vehicular emissions. This has induced a great interest in the EV industry. Compounding this, the Indian government’s development of policies to support budding industries and businesses has brought about a great opportunity for the industry to have an escalated growth.

The pandemic has also made people less apathetic about their health, and more people have taken to biking as a fitness activity to keep up their good health, physically and mentally. This has inevitably increased the demand for e-bikes as they offer the option for fitness while allowing you to cover long distances with less effort. This combination of fun, fitness, and utility in terms of intra-city commuting has proven to be a hit amongst the masses.

With metropolitans having tasted the breath of fresh air after decades due to the initial phases of the lockdown, a bright future has been sparked for electric mobility. Behind the scenes, the government is also hard at work to promote the EV industry through schemes to subsidize the cost of manufacturing electric vehicles and e-bikes, so as to increase their usage on the roads, and it would not take long before electric mobility proves itself to be a catalyst in surging the nation’s economy.

EdTech Start-up OckyPocky raised undisclosed funding

Delhi, 14th September 2020: India’s first interactive English learning app for pre-school kids “OckyPocky” has recently received investment from Mr. Ankit Kumar through Lead Angels Network.

This innovative EdTech start-up is founded by ex-YouTube India head and it has carved its own niche already.

OckyPocky endeavours to change the way over 160 million preschool kids learn, starting at age 2. Language is a key skill that kids start learning, but many of them in Tier II and Tier III towns lack access especially to early-stage English language learning solutions. Existing internet content is often unsafe for them. OckyPocky as a platform aims to help prevent this by providing a safe and interactive alternative! The focus on true personalization with mother tongue is their key strength. Hindi and Marathi users are loving it every day.

Commenting on the recent investment in OckyPocky, Mr. Ankit Kumar, Managing Partner, Alternative Global said, “We have recently finalised the investment process with OckyPocky. OckyPocky is an interesting app. It provides English language learning, powered by speech recognition technology. The app, developed and designed for India with a focus on vernacular languages, personalizes the learning experience for kids by using natural language processing and artificial intelligence.

We were keen on investing in this space as EdTech has a bright future and is the current market trend. It is anticipated to reach $1.96 billion by 2021; India has a current user base of around 9.6 million. Going by the trend and anticipating the sector’s growth we felt the time is just apt to invest in this niche.”

On receiving the recent funding Mr. Amit Agrawal, Founder, OckyPocky said “We are happy to have investors like Ankit Kumar on board and we are confident to grow rapidly as the market is very accepting and favourable at the moment. With the current tailwinds, OckyPocky too is gaining momentum and will be using the current round for marketing activities and R&D to further better the product and offerings. We will continue to bring a great experience for the skills that matter to Bharat and create a better foundation for our Tier 2, 3, 4 underserved markets.”

Researches indicate Preschool kids in the age of 2 to 6 constitute the 3rd largest gadget user demographic. Their minds are very fertile and OckyPocky is leveraging technology to facilitate the exponent growth during the critical foundation years.

The platform uses speech recognition tech, helping people learn English. It uses everyday spoken languages to teach kids. The app leverages the application of NLP and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The firm has already penetrated well and claims to have got decent traction on the platform which sums up to over 50 million words learnt. The firm will be using fresh capital in the direction of further enhancing the product through new technologies and boosting its operations.
