Abhijit Vaghani blends together two classic love songs Aye Mere Humsafar- Ab Mujhe Raat Din, for the fifth episode of this season
Gen Z singers Palak Muchhal and Armaan Malik who given several musical hits in the past are all set to leave you with a sense of love and longing with their soulful voices on the 3rd season of Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series’ Mixtape Rewind, presented by Amazon Prime Music. The talented singers take on the timeless love songs ‘Aye Mere Humsafar’ and ‘Ab Mujhe Raat Din’, blended together by Abhijit Vaghani for the 5th episode. Bringing back the love songs from the 90’s and the early 2000’s, this season is all about romance and nostalgia.
Known for their peppy, up-tempo songs, Palak Mucchal and Armaan Malik on the fifth episode of MixTape Rewind take on the classic love songs arranged with a strong string-instrumental element. Abhijit Vaghani stitches the harmonies of ‘Aye Mere Humsafar’ and ‘Ab Mujhe Raat Din’ flawlessly and director Ahmed Khan highlights the vocals and instruments through his romantic ambient setting.

Speaking about blending Aye Mere Humsafar and Ab Mujhe Raat Din, music composer Abhijit Vaghani says, “Aye Mere Humsafar and Ab Mujhe Raat Din are both iconic songs. For mixtape we always look at songs that match with their lyrics and arrangements and these both blend flawlessly. This mixtape composition demanded a grand arrangement of strings and we got the best – Mumbai String Orchestra to do it and this made the song magnanimous. It was lot of fun to work and feature them in this video. Palak with her extended range of voice and Armaan with his extremely talented skill of singing just made them a perfect pair for this. Their tonality, the scales of the track demanded singers like them. I am glad they came on board.”
Says Armaan Malik, “Singing iconic tracks is always a surreal, learning experience. It’s also a huge responsibility to live up to the original. I’ve literally grown up listening to songs such as Aye Mere Humsafar and Ab Mujhe Raat Din – both of which comprise of beautiful, delicate and intricate melodies by legendary musicians of our industry. Palak and I had an amazing time recreating these magical tracks, with the fabulous musical support by producer/composer Abhijit Vaghani.
