K-Beauty accelerates across global markets

K-Beauty accelerates across global markets

In its latest report, K-Beauty Goes Global, NIQ shows how Korean beauty is reshaping consumer expectations, accelerating innovation cycles and redefining competitive dynamics across the global beauty market. What began as a culturally driven trend now offers a broader signal about the future of beauty: regional trends are increasingly driving global opportunity, and brands need timely intelligence to know which signals will scale next.

Key findings

  • Global growth: K-Beauty value sales rose 53% year-over-year and 131% over two years, underscoring rapid international expansion.
  • Social commerce acceleration: According to data published by TikTok Shop, searches for K-Beauty on the platform increased by 125% in the UK in 2025. Across the UK, US, Spain, and Germany, value sales for K-Beauty brands on TikTok Shop rose by 430% year-over-year, highlighting the role of discovery-to-purchase platforms.
  • Latin America: Brazil and Mexico delivered 135% value growth, signaling emerging momentum in the region.
  • North America: E-commerce represents 76% of K-Beauty sales, with Canada reaching $164 million in 2025, up 57% year-over-year.
  • Western Europe: Value growth reached 58% year-over-year. Korean brands now account for around 10% of European online skincare sales, rising to 15–20% in leading markets including Italy, Spain and France.

K-Beauty’s rise reflects a broader change in how beauty growth is created and scaled. Formats such as sheet masks, acne patches, essences, serums and ampoules have moved from niche routines into everyday habits, while ingredient-led innovation including snail mucin, centella asiatica and PDRN illustrates how some Korean beauty concepts have expanded beyond specialist audiences. At the same time, K-Beauty is raising the bar for affordable, high-performance products, faster innovation cycles and commerce models that connect discovery to purchase more seamlessly.

“K-Beauty has moved beyond trend status to become one of the clearest examples of how regional beauty innovation can translate into global growth,” said Tara James Taylor, SVP, Global Beauty Personal Care Vertical, NIQ. “Its success is built on speed, cultural relevance and the ability to turn innovation into everyday habits. More importantly, it shows how beauty brands now need to read emerging regional signals earlier, understand how consumer demand is shifting, and act faster across markets. The next phase of growth will come from expansion into adjacent categories such as wellness and haircare, and from scaling across high-growth regions like Latin America and the Middle East.”

NIQ’s analysis also points to continued momentum across APAC outside Korea and China, where K-Beauty grew 27%. In the Middle East, K-Beauty e-commerce growth reached 76%, reinforcing the role of digitally engaged consumers and high-interest markets in shaping the category’s next phase of expansion.

For brands, the takeaway goes beyond K-Beauty itself. The category offers one example of how global beauty trends are evolving: innovation is becoming more regionally driven, commerce is becoming more content-led, and the brands best positioned to win will be those that can turn early market signals into commercial action.

Since its founding, KATE has championed the slogan “NO MORE RULES.,” offering makeup that defies convention and encourages self-expression. At the heart of this vision is KATE’s signature shadow enhancing makeup—a Japanese-born technique that uses light and shadow to create depth and dimension.

The pairing of a makeup brand and Kabuki may seem unexpected at first, yet both share a legacy of boundary‑defying expression that transcends eras. Rooted in the spirit of Kabuku—a refusal to conform—Kabuki has long conveyed essence and emotion through a distinctive interplay of light and shadow. This resonates deeply with KATE, a brand that uses shadow enhancing makeup to draw out inner strength through the same dynamic contrast.

Ukon Onoe is a distinguished “two‑way” performer who forges a modern path while honoring tradition and brings a unique dual artistry to this campaign as both a Kabuki actor and a Kiyomoto‑style singer. Reflecting on the campaign, Onoe notes that KATE’s “NO MORE RULES.” philosophy aligns closely with the spirit of Kabuki, as both share a richness rooted in embracing one’s true self.

The international campaign will launch on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, with key visuals, a concept movie, and a campaign website featuring Ukon Onoe.

KATE’s launch takes the blue tones of Kumadori—Kabuki’s expressive makeup—and uses them to introduce a shadow enhancing makeup look that slips blue into the shadows. By channeling the bold emotional force of blue, the look adds dimension, deepens structure, and conveys a strong sense of will.

The new products that embody this approach are the KATE Real Shading Stick and KATE Smooth Fit Pressed Powder—each designed to add subtle blue nuances to shadow enhancing makeup.

KATE and Kabuki share a legacy of pursuing beauty beyond convention. Through this campaign, KATE will highlight makeup expression unbound by rules, presenting shadow enhancing makeup inspired by Japanese aesthetics to audiences across Asia and around the world.

360 ONE unveils landmark brand installations at Mumbai’s Terminal 2

360 ONE partners with WPP Media to establish a strategic presence at Mumbai Terminal 2

Mumbai, India, July 16 2026: 360 ONE, one of India’s leading wealth and asset management firms, with over US$74 bn in assets under management, has partnered with WPP Media to establish a strategic presence at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, unveiling the largest airport brand installations in India at Gates 1 and 8 of Terminal 2 (T2).

As India’s financial capital, Mumbai provides the ideal backdrop for the initiative. Together, Gates 1 and 8 welcome approximately 25 lakh travellers annually, and are frequented by leading business families, entrepreneurs, institutional leaders, and emerging wealth creators, placing 360 ONE in an environment defined by movement, global connectivity, and the pursuit of opportunities.

360 ONE unveils landmark brand installations at Mumbai's Terminal 2

For 360 ONE, the choice of location is a statement of ambition and an affirmation of the ecosystem the firm has served for the last 18 years. The installations carry the firm’s identity across its three businesses: Wealth Management, Asset Management, and Capital Markets. For WPP Media, the collaboration demonstrates how strategic media placements can help brands create meaningful visibility in premium environments where context strengthens brand relevance.

Commenting on the brand’s installations, Bhavika Kotak, Head of Marketing, 360 ONE, said, “The airport is amongst those prime locations where India’s most ambitious journeys begin, and global opportunities become tangible. Every day, entrepreneurs, business leaders, investors, and families pass through these gates carrying ideas and aspirations across the world. At 360 ONE, our role is to help those ambitions travel further. These installations place our brand where ambitions naturally converge.”

Ajay Mehta, Head, Media Solutions, WPP Media India, said, “By combining strategic placement, premium formats, and contextual relevance, we have created an experience that delivers both visibility and meaning. It is a strong example of how WPP Media is helping brands transform high-value physical spaces into powerful consumer engagement ecosystems. The most effective media experiences today are built at the intersection of audience understanding, environment, and creativity. With 360 ONE, the opportunity was to reimagine airport infrastructure as a living brand platform rather than a traditional media asset.”

Watch how the installations were built: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDXv4tmvrDI

Details about the structures:

The installations took close to eight months from planning to completion. They were designed, approved, fabricated, and assembled inside one of India’s most complex and continuously operating environments, without disrupting a single departure.

Two installations are currently placed at Gates 1 and 8, with a third installation scheduled to be unveiled soon. Together, the three structures weigh 25.5 tonnes and cover 166 square metres of freestanding installation. Gate 1 spans 46 feet and weighs 7.5 tonnes, while Gate 8 spans 33 feet and weighs 4.8 tonnes.

The structures at each gate are built not against a wall or column but rather rise from a single engineered connection to the floor at each gate. That connection was the central engineering challenge, as airport floors, by design, expand and contract with temperature. The base plates were redesigned to enable the structure above to stand perfectly still while the floor beneath it breathed.

The upper sections were fabricated off-site and transported in modular sections, while the bases were constructed and installed on-site. Precision was critical throughout the process, as even a one-millimetre deviation at the base could result in a six-millimetre misalignment at the top of these tall structures. The largest installation is engineered to withstand wind loads of up to 34 kilonewtons—equivalent to the continuous sideways force exerted by three cars. To ensure structural integrity and engineering precision, an eight-step quality control process was followed across every stage of fabrication, transportation, and on-site assembly, from the factory floor to the terminal gate.

The initiative highlights WPP Media’s continued focus on creating innovative, audience-first media experiences that go beyond traditional formats. By combining planning, premium environments, and creative execution, WPP Media is enabling brands to build stronger connections with consumers in moments that matter most.

Rare Braj Paper-Cutting Art Sanjhi draws attention at Kausalyam 2026

Hyderabad, July 16, 2026: Not all masterpieces are painted. Some are cut, one delicate stroke at a time.

At Kausalyam 2026, a two day Craft Festival being organised by Crafts Council of Telangna in the city at Anvaya Convention Centre in Financial District, Gachibowli, visitors are discovering Sanjhi, the rare and exquisite paper-cutting art of Braj, often described as a tradition where a thousand cuts create one masterpiece. Originating in the sacred Krishna land of Mathura and Vrindavan, Sanjhi is among India’s most intricate and endangered art forms.

Rare Braj Paper-Cutting Art Sanjhi draws attention at Kausalyam 2026

Among the many traditional crafts showcased at Kausalyam 2026, Sanjhi has emerged as a major attraction, captivating visitors with its breathtaking precision and spiritual depth. Created entirely by hand, the art involves meticulously cutting intricate patterns and images from paper to depict scenes from Lord Krishna’s life, Raas Leela, peacocks, lotus motifs and other sacred symbols associated with the Braj region.

What makes Sanjhi truly remarkable is the extraordinary skill and patience it demands. Working with simple tools, artists carefully remove tiny portions of paper to create delicate, lace-like compositions of astonishing detail. A single misplaced cut can spoil an entire artwork, making every piece a testament to years of practice and artistic mastery.

Once an integral part of temple traditions in Braj, Sanjhi has gradually become a vanishing art, with only a handful of practitioners continuing to preserve and promote this unique heritage. Its presence at Kausalyam 2026 offers visitors a rare opportunity to witness a living tradition that beautifully blends devotion, storytelling and craftsmanship.

Sanjhi is not just rare—it is also labor-intensive and highly skilled, which makes authentic works relatively expensive. Each piece is painstakingly hand-cut using tiny scissors or specialized blades, often requiring hours or even days of meticulous work. A single mistake can ruin the entire design, as the artwork is usually created from a single sheet of paper without corrections.

Sanjhi is among India’s most intricate paper-cutting traditions. Every artwork is handcrafted through hours of painstaking precision, making each piece not only rare but also a valuable work of art. The time, skill, and craftsmanship involved mean that authentic Sanjhi creations command premium prices and are increasingly sought after by collectors and connoisseurs.

From Braj to Hyderabad, Sanjhi has found a new audience at Kausalyam 2026, highlighting the importance of preserving India’s diverse handmade traditions and celebrating the artisans who keep them alive.

Organised by the Crafts Council of Telangana, Kausalyam 2026 celebrates India’s rich craft heritage and provides a platform for artisans, craft revivalists and cultural practitioners from across the country.

Kausalyam 2026 is being held at Anvaya Convention, Financial District, Hyderabad, and is open to the public. Entry is free. It is open from 10am to 7pm and will conclude on Thursday

Abu Dhabi, UAE – 16 July 2026In collaboration with the Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility), an affiliate of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, Abu Dhabi Maritime, part of AD Ports Group, has announced the opening of submissions to the 2026 Abu Dhabi Maritime Awards, set to culminate in a prestigious ceremony during the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show, scheduled to take place from 19–22 November 2026.

Founded in 2023, the Abu Dhabi Maritime Awards aim to bring recognition to the vibrant marina industry across the Middle East, North Africa, and Türkiye (MENAT region), and to set new benchmarks for excellence in marina management and operations across 12 award categories. Submissions for the fourth edition are open to all licensed marina owners and operators across the MENAT region.

4th Edition of Abu Dhabi Maritime Awards to Spotlight Exceptional Marinas in Middle East—North Africa—Türkiye Region

Dr. Abdulla Hamad AlGhfeli, Acting Director General of the Integrated Transport Centre, said: “The Abu Dhabi Maritime Awards support the Integrated Transport Centre’s vision to deliver world-class, sustainable infrastructure that enables mobility and drives economic growth. The fourth edition reflects our continued confidence in the strength, competitiveness, and future potential of the regional marina industry, while reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s standing as a leading global maritime hub. Through this awards programme, we aim to foster the innovation and collaboration that will motivate progress across the industry.”

Captain Saif Al Mheiri, Abu Dhabi Maritime CEO and Group Chief Sustainability and Risk Officer at AD Ports Group, said: “The Abu Dhabi Maritime Awards continue to serve as a powerful platform for recognising excellence and driving progress across the marina ecosystem in the MENAT region. By celebrating organisations, projects, and individuals, the awards highlight the collective efforts shaping a more resilient, innovative, and sustainable maritime sector. At AD Ports Group and Abu Dhabi Maritime, we remain committed to enabling this growth and strengthening Abu Dhabi’s position at the forefront of global maritime development.”

The fourth annual edition of the Abu Dhabi Maritime Awards consists of organisation, project, and individual-based categories – a holistic approach that recognises the institutions, initiatives, and people shaping the regional industry.

Five core organisation-based categories recognise achievements in “Customer Experience,” “Employer Excellence,” “Health & Safety,” “Innovation,” and “Sustainability.”

The top “Outstanding Marina Award” is presented to the marina that demonstrates excellence across all five organisation-based categories.

Marinas that apply to the Outstanding Marina Award are automatically entered into the five core organisation-based categories. The winner of this top accolade will not be eligible to win other organisation-based categories to ensure equitable opportunity for all participating marinas.

Three project-based categories reward targeted initiatives. The “Sustainability Project,” “Innovation Project,” and “Wellbeing Project” Awards celebrate successful standalone projects rather than overall organisational performance.

The three individual-based categories – the “Outstanding Leader Award,” “Outstanding Service Hero Award,” and “Rising Star Award” – honour the people who inspire their colleagues, customers, and communities through remarkable performance and meaningful contributions.

Finally, the 2026 programme will include the returning “Most Popular Marina” recognition, determined by public vote via a secure online portal opening in October.

Marinas and individuals are invited to apply now by creating a profile on the Abu Dhabi Maritime Awards website. More information on the awards programme, criteria, and application and assessment processes is also available on the website and through its applicant portal.
