Hyderabad, April 2026 – In a significant move to support the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector, the Amika Arbitration and Mediation Council (AAMC) has announced its willingness to provide pro-bono arbitration and mediation services for the cases referred to it by the MSME Development Councils, declared Dr P Madhava Rao, the registrar of AAMC.
The Amika Arbitration and Mediation Council (AAMC), a premier Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) institution based in Hyderabad, operates in alignment with Sections 18(2) and 18(3) of the MSMED Act, 2006. Under these provisions, the AAMC is an arbitration and mediation service-providing institution when disputes regarding delayed payments or commercial conflicts are referred to it by the government-appointed Facilitation Councils.
By offering pro-bono services, AAMC aims to reduce the financial burden on smaller enterprises that often lack the bargaining power or resources to pursue lengthy and expensive legal battles. This initiative reinforces the council’s commitment to “creating accessible justice” and ensuring time-bound resolutions for the backbone of India’s economy. AAMC is known for its state-of-the-art facilities and has recently earned international acclaim from the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) for its arbitration rules.
Dr Rao further stated that the AAMC has approached the two Telugu state governments and the government of India for empanelment of their institution on the ADR/ODR portal of the Ministry of MSMEs, and their request is pending with the respective state governments.
