IMDb Expands Professional Credit Categories, Enhancing Recognition for Entertainment Industry Roles
IMDb and IMDbPro Add 12 New Professional Credit Categories and Expand Voice Actor Credits, Advancing Recognition for Essential Entertainment Professions
Mumbai, India, 07th November, 2025: IMDb, the world’s most popular and authoritative source for information on movies, TV shows, and celebrities, has announced a major update to enhance visibility and recognition for entertainment industry professionals. The platform has introduced 12 new dedicated professional credit categories on IMDb and IMDbPro name and title pages.

In addition, IMDb now accepts credits for dubbing foreign-language versions of movies and TV shows a move that opens new global opportunities for professionals in this field to showcase their work.
Developed through extensive consultation with industry bodies including the Choreographers Guild, Colorist Society, I.A.T.S.E. Local 161, I.A.T.S.E. Local 871, National Association of Voice Actors (NAVA), Property Masters Guild, and SAG-AFTRA, these updates represent IMDb’s continued commitment to inclusivity and accurate representation across all entertainment crafts.
The new credit categories include: Choreography, Color Department, Craft Services, Health and Safety Department, Intimacy Coordination, Legal, Production Department, Production Finance and Accounting, Property Department, Publicity, Puppetry, and Voice Actor – Dubbing.
With these additions, IMDb now features 45 professional credit categories, making it easier for audiences, peers, and employers to identify and connect with talent across disciplines.

The expansion also recognizes the growing global popularity of dubbed content, with IMDb now accepting dubbing credits in English, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish. Migration of existing credits to the new categories will be completed by November 9, 2025 (11:59 PM PST).
