Third Edition of WEAVE Series Concludes at IMS-DIA

Noida, Jan 10: Institute of Management Studies Design & Innovation Academy (IMS-DIA) organized the third edition of the WEAVE series with the objective of empowering women entrepreneurs and enhancing their skills. The two-day program was held at the institute campus in collaboration with the Textile Sector Skill Council (TSC). The program witnessed the presence of eminent guests and speakers including Mr. Alok Pandey, CEO, Atal Incubation Centre (IIT Delhi); Dr. Swapna Mishra, Chief Executive Officer, Textile Sector Skill Council; Ms. Veena Swarup, Program Mentor and former Director, HR Engineers India Limited; and Professor (Dr.) Vikas Dhawan, Director General, IMS.

While inaugurating the program, Professor (Dr.) Vikas Dhawan stated that promoting women entrepreneurship is not only essential from the perspective of economic growth, but is also a significant step towards strengthening self-reliance and inclusive development in society. He further added that IMS-DIA will continue to encourage women empowerment through such initiatives in the future. Meanwhile, Mr. Chirag Gupta, Vice President, IMS-DIA, in his message stated that the primary objective of this initiative is to enhance the professional efficiency of women entrepreneurs, encourage innovation, increase business value, and provide new opportunities for entrepreneurship development.

Addressing the participants, Dr. Swapna Mishra stressed the importance of skill development and stated that trained women entrepreneurs in the textile and related sectors can play a vital role in employment generation and economic empowerment. She motivated women entrepreneurs to develop self-confidence, leadership skills, and a strong business outlook. Mr. Alok Pandey shared that through innovation, proper mentoring, and strong networking, women entrepreneurs can take their businesses to new heights.

During the program, Ms. Veena Swarup informed that participants received expert guidance on emerging trends in entrepreneurship, skill development, market strategies, branding, and ways to enhance business value in the textile and allied sectors. The program also provided an effective platform for networking and experience sharing among women entrepreneurs.

During the program, several eminent experts and well-known personalities from diverse sectors shared their experiences and practical insights. These included Dr. Blossom Kochhar, Chairperson, Blossom Kochhar Group; Ms. Meenu Chopra, Executive Director, All India Artisans and Craftworkers Welfare Association; Ms. Kaamna Jain, Senior Professional – Technology Skilling and Media Communications; Mr. Abhishek Kakkar, Investment Lead, IAN Group; Ms. Shilpy Kochhar, Senior Leader Biotech Innovation and Policy; Dr. Arvind Deshmukh, Innovation Expert and Leadership Coach; Ms. Chirom Indira, Founder, Chanu Creations; Ms. Amrutha Valli, Founder, PurpleApple Infosystems; Dr. Pooja Goswami, Founder, RAMJA Genosensor Pvt. Ltd.; Dr. Anita Tripathy Lal, Professor, FORE School of Management; and Dr. Anurag Oberoi, Founder, Attire World Ltd.
