Rishihood University, India’s Emerging Social-Impact University, Convened Its First Convocation
New Delhi, November 18, 2022: Rishihood University, one of the most impact-focused universities in the country, held its first convocation on the 8th of November, 2022. The convocation was held at the Siri Fort Auditorium in New Delhi to welcome the new batch for the academic session 2022–23 and commend the graduating students.
Formally inaugurated at Vigyan Bhawan in the past year, Rishihood University reimagines the Indian education system to create “Rishis” who prove a blessing to all of humanity through their judicious thoughts and actions; it firmly believes that rebuilding Takshashila is the way to go.
Chancellor of Rishihood University, Shri Suresh Prabhu, the former Minister of the Railways, Civil Aviation, and Commerce and Industry, and esteemed member of the Rajya Sabha, presided by the momentous convocation and reiterated the vision by asserting that “living and working with values should supersede living according to valuation.”
The convocation was graced by the Chief Economic Advisor to the Government of India—Shri V. Anantha Nageswaran as the Chief Guest. He addressed the students gathered at the event and remarked with great insight into the values of this social-impact university. In addition, he also stressed the importance of individuality in front of students and the importance of knowing what to change while on the path of self-transformation.
Among the other dignitaries at the first convocation of Rishihood University was also the Vice-Chancellor, Shri Shobhit Mathur. His precise statement on the ambitions of the university set hearts pounding with awe. He stated, “When we say impact, we intend to see impact at 3 levels—Vyakti Nirmaan (create people who will lead the change), Vichaar Nirmaan (create thought to shape ideas for the future), and Vyavastha Nirmaan (create systems to scale and sustain the change).”
The strong values that the university adheres to and the major social impact that it endeavours to bring about focus on the development of individuality and personality in students to create the true leaders of tomorrow.
Rishihood University places a strong emphasis on the role of curriculum in addressing the dynamism of the twenty-first century to realize its clearly articulated vision and mission.
