Birla Open Minds & SkillShark EduTech Launch Joint Initiative to Shape Tomorrow’s Tech Talent

Birla Open Minds and SkillShark EduTech Join Hands to Nurture Future Tech LeadersIndia, 10th June 2025: In an initiative to fuel curiosity and build future-ready skills, Birla Open Minds International School, in collaboration with SkillShark EduTech, hosted an immersive Innovation Day at Capgemini India’s Applied Innovation Exchange (AIE) in Hyderabad. The event introduced students from Grades 9 to 12 to cutting-edge fields like Mechatronics, AI, and emerging technologies.

The hands-on experience was part of SkillShark’s Certified Internship Program—a 14-day hybrid journey combining virtual learning with real-world applications. The Capgemini-hosted Demo Day marked the culmination, offering students a platform to present innovative ideas shaped by their learning.

Through expert-led sessions and interactive modules, students explored technologies like drones, sensors, HVAC systems, and AI tools, discovering how innovation can tackle real-world challenges. A standout moment was the presentation of Proof of Concepts (POCs) by twelve selected students. From a Disaster Response Drone to a Mental Health Monitoring Robot and an AI-Powered Time Companion App, each project reflected both creativity and technical depth.

Dr. Syamali Chowdhury, Principal, Birla Open Minds International School, Hyderabad, added, “At Birla Open Minds International School, we believe that technology is an essential part of a child’s overall growth. To prepare students for tomorrow, they need more than textbooks—they need hands-on experience with real tools and innovations. Initiatives like Innovation Day build confidence and creativity by connecting classroom learning with real-world technology. We’re proud to nurture young minds who will be future innovators and changemakers.”

Dr. Ashhar Ahmad Shaikh, Founder & Director Industry Relations & Talent Development, SkillShark EduTech, added, “Encouraging early interest in technology is key to preparing future leaders. We are proud to support initiatives that offer hands-on, project-based learning in emerging fields like mechatronics and AI. These experiences bridge the gap between education and industry, helping students build the skills needed to thrive in a tech-driven world.”

Ishita Adlakha, Grade 12, student at Birla Open Minds International School, Hyderabad, and participant in the program, shared, “With technology evolving every day, it’s important for us as students to understand how it works and how it can solve real problems. In many schools, we only get bookish knowledge, but here we explored real technologies like sensors, drones, and AI through hands-on learning. We used actual tools, worked on real challenges, and built ideas that could help society. It was exciting, inspiring, and has made me more confident about exploring robotics and AI in the future.”

Beyond technology, the event also emphasized life skills such as personal finance, mental wellness, and industry mentorship, offering students a well-rounded perspective on how innovation and human values go hand in hand.
