Kochi, March 17, 2026: South Indian Bank hosted an exclusive knowledge session featuring Dr. V. Anantha Nageswaran, Chief Economic Advisor to the Government of India, at SIB Tower, Kochi. Titled “A Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Economic Survey 2025–26,” the session brought together senior leadership, stakeholders, and branch representatives from various states for an in-depth discussion on India’s economic outlook.
The programme commenced at 3:00 PM with a welcome address by P. R. Seshadri, Managing Director & CEO of South Indian Bank. Dr. Nageswaran delivered the keynote address, sharing insights from the Economic Survey 2025–26, with a focus on macroeconomic trends, policy directions, and the country’s growth prospects.
The session also included an interactive Q&A segment, providing participants an opportunity to engage directly with the Chief Economic Advisor and discuss key economic themes shaping India’s future.
The event concluded with a memento presentation by V. J. Kurian, Chairman of South Indian Bank, followed by a vote of thanks by Anto George T, Chief Operating Officer of the Bank.
Speaking at the session, Dr. V. Anantha Nageswaran said:
“Strategic indispensability begins with intelligent import substitution. By deregulating, our states empower local micro, small and medium enterprises. This enables us not only to build domestic capacity but also to help MSMEs integrate into global value chains.”
The initiative reflects South Indian Bank’s commitment to thought leadership and facilitating meaningful dialogue on economic developments, reinforcing its position as a progressive and knowledge-driven financial institution.
