In an initiative to bring smiles on the visually impaired children, MemeChat, the social media networking app, in association with All India Confederation of the Blind (AICB) Capt Chandanlal Special School for the Blind, ringed in the cheer by urging its users to be Santa Clause for visually impaired children.
Around 76000 users participated in the drive and raised Rs 1.1 lakh as a result of the initiative.The proceeds from the donations were used to bring smiles to around 200 visually impaired children on Christmas eve in the form of gifts, food and other basic essentials.
The initiative was an extension of the company’s ‘Keep Smiling’ campaign which aimed to extend the random acts of selfless giving to those in need. Keeping in line with the corporate philosophy of enriching the lives of people in need, the company hopes to contribute towards enriching the lives of children with visual impairment through this initiative.
Elaborating on the initiative, Taaran Chanana, Managing Director and Co-Founder MemeChat, said, “MemeChat is a youth-driven social networking platform that strives to spread positivity and give people a reason to smile. Through this campaign we aim to bring happiness and joy to those who are less privileged.
