New Delhi, Aug 5: External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar met Permanent Representatives to the United Nations from 17 countries during their visit to India, highlighting the importance of stronger international cooperation at a time of major global changes.

The discussions focused on the need for a more inclusive global system that gives greater representation to developing nations, particularly countries of the Global South. Jaishankar emphasised that reformed multilateralism is essential to address emerging global challenges and build a more balanced international order.
During the interaction, both sides exchanged views on key areas including technology, maritime security, peacekeeping, development partnerships, and disaster management. The discussions also reflected India’s growing engagement with countries across the world on issues that impact economic and social development.
Stronger global cooperation in technology, infrastructure, trade, and innovation can create new opportunities for economic growth by encouraging investment, improving connectivity, and supporting knowledge sharing between nations.
