Choko La 20 Year Anniversary Celebration Milestone

New Delhi, Nov 25: choko la, India’s pioneering artisanal chocolate brand, proudly marks 20 years of shaping the country’s premium chocolate culture. Founder Vasudha Munjal Dinodia, daughter of Pawan Munjal, Executive Chairman, HeroMotoCorp of the illustrious Hero Group, is a third-generation entrepreneur herself. choko la was created in 2005 with the vision of bringing world-class chocolate to India at a time when premium confectionery was largely restricted to duty-free stores and the suitcases of overseas travellers. Guided by a commitment to pure, handcrafted couverture chocolate, the brand sparked a shift in how Indians experienced indulgence — making fine chocolate accessible, contemporary, and proudly homegrown.

“Twenty years ago, premium chocolates were seen as a luxury you could only buy abroad,” says Mrs Vasudha Munjal Dinodia, Founder & Managing Director, choko la. “I wanted to change that. My vision was to create India’s first luxury chocolate brand that makes handcrafted, high-quality chocolates accessible to everyone. Today, we are proud to be part of India’s evolving palate while staying rooted in our founding principles of purity, quality, and honest indulgence.”

From one café to multiple locations across Delhi NCR, choko la has grown into a global chocolate brand backed by a robust omnichannel presence. The company is now present across India through more than 600 distribution points in major Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities, covering almost all Indian states. Internationally, the brand operates across duty-free stores in major Tier 1 airports and exports to the USA, UK, Singapore, and Canada, bringing premium Indian chocolates to global consumers.

COO Mr Vibhu Mahajan has been an integral part of the brand’s growth and oversees strategy, business development, and international expansion.

“What began with a single location has now evolved into a global luxury chocolate brand with a multi-channel presence,” says Mr Mahajan. “We are present PAN India through distribution, boutique stores, and e-commerce, while internationally, we continue expanding through exports and duty-free partnerships. Our vision is to establish choko la as a global ambassador for Indian chocolate craftsmanship.”

choko la is now entering a new phase of expansion. Over the next five years, the brand is set to launch in Germany and the UAE by FY26–FY27, followed by further expansion into the GCC region, including Saudi Arabia, as well as Western Europe across France and Italy. In addition, the company is exploring opportunities across South East Asia, Australasia and Mexico in North America. With a strengthened e-commerce ecosystem and growing digital footprint, the brand is focused on building deeper consumer relationships and elevating India’s presence on the global chocolate map.

Throughout its journey, choko la has remained dedicated to its founding values of quality, product innovation, and customer delight. Its range includes signature hot chocolate, luxury truffles, gifting collections, designer cakes, seasonal assortments, and a growing selection of healthy offerings including sugar-free options that cater to modern, mindful consumers. For millions of customers, choko la has been part of birthdays, milestones, festivals, and moments of pure comfort and celebration, creating lasting nostalgia and emotional connection.

“For me, choko la is more than a brand — it is a way to make people forget the daily chaos and savour the moment,” says Mrs. Dinodia. “Over the years, customers have celebrated birthdays, festivals, and everyday moments with us. That emotional connection — that nostalgia — is our greatest achievement.”

To mark its 20th anniversary, the brand has launched “20 Years of Celebrating Happiness,” a celebratory campaign dedicated to its loyal customers and partners. The milestone reflects a legacy of craftsmanship, innovation and perseverance. In this 20th year, the brand is rolling out a series of engaging activities through the month of November to thank customers and make them a part of the celebrations. December will introduce special Christmas products to the world.

As choko la enters its next chapter, the brand continues to focus on global growth, product innovation, and building meaningful connections with consumers around the world. With two decades of trust and an unwavering commitment to quality, choko la remains synonymous with honest, wholesome indulgence — proudly made in India and enjoyed across borders.
