Odissi Danseuse Dr Jyoti Shrivastava going to be a part of Online Conference Shaping S-Curves (Choreographic process in Odissi Dance) which is going to be held from June 14 to June 19 from 6-8.30 pm onwards, On 17th June, 2021 at 6pm Odissi Dance Guru Dr Jyoti Shrivastava going to present a beautiful performance of Shakuntala,Ganga and Umeed all are choreographed by Dr Jyoti Shrivastava.
Dr.Jyoti Shrivastava said For “Shakuntala” I worked more than a year time and then I decided my script, the songs are used in Shakuntala are very different and unique and similarly when I worked for “Ganga” It was inspired me from Ganga Laheri and “Ganga Laheri is book based on “Ganga’s nature, value and structure. We put some lines of Ganga Laheri in our dance presentation, in that way we choreographed “Ganga”,
Odissi Danseuse Jyoti Shrivastava and also the Founder and Director of Vaishali Kala Kendra who has done the Dance and Choreography for “UMEED” In Umeed” they have given the message to all artists that due to this Covid -19 and pandemic problem, we should not lose hope and expectation.we should always think positive during this bad phase. This is the mixed presentation of Dance and Poetry,Umeed poetry is written by Dr Arshiya Sethi and the music which has used in “Umeed” is completely Odissi Music.
Dr Jyoti Shrivastava’s inspiration for choreography is always Sahitya, Sangeet, Odissi esthetics and culture.

Dr. Jyoti Shrivastava is an Odissi dance exponent and also the founder of Vaishali Kala Kendra Noida. She was born in 1962 to the late Brij Kishore and Mamta Devi. It was in 1972 that the late Guru Shrinath Raut observed an inborn talent in her and hence initiated her into the Odissi dance form. Jyoti’s natural talent and dedication have led her through a life-long love affair with Odissi. In her journey of dance, she came under the guidance of three celebrated guru’s Late Guru Srinath Raut, Guru Ramli Ibrahim, and Guru Durga Charan Ranbir. As Director of Vaishali Kala Kendra – an institute of Odissi research and training in Noida, Jyoti is responsible for the continuation of the styles and compositions of the late Guru Deba Prasad Das. In Malaysia, she has worked with Ramli Ibrahim on several productions of Sutra Dance Theatre Kuala Lumpur.
She has performed in different International and National platforms like Malaysia with Sutra dance theatre and ICCR. Performances at Holland, Belgium, Armenia, Russia, Luxembourg. Workshops and programs in Singapore with Temple of fine arts. Workshop and program with the established dancers in New York City like Ray Hesselink and Taiis Pascal. Program in Japan, Belgium, Amsterdam Performances in Doha, Muscat, Thailand, Armenia, Mauritius.
