
New Delhi, Feb 19th: Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday described the ongoing SARAS Aajeevika Mela 2026 as “a powerful platform showcasing the strength of women-led enterprise”, noting that over 450 stalls and more than 1,000 ‘Lakhpati Didis’ from across India are participating in the event.
The mela is being organised under the aegis of the Ministry of Rural Development.
The minister said, “The North Eastern states add a special charm with handcrafted incense sticks, crochet & ribbon flowers, natural soaps, artisanal candles, elegant shawls, soft toys, wooden plates & eco-friendly banana fibre bags, reflecting skill, sustainability & tradition.”
Rijiju also referred to live demonstrations, regional cuisines, a takeaway food corner and curated premium products at the specially designed SARAS Gallery in the Mela Convergence Pavilion, Lakhpati Didi Pavilion, Demo Pavilion and Knowledge Pavilion.
According to the Minister, the India Food Court is featuring over 400 delicacies prepared live by Lakhpati Didis, bringing authentic local flavours to Gurugram.
The SARAS Aajeevika Mela is being held at Leisure Valley Ground, Gurugram, from February 10 to 26 between 11 a.m. and 9:30 p.m.
He further wrote, “Do visit & support our Didis!”
