Gopalan International School students excel in national and state robotics events

Bengaluru, Feb 02: Gopalan International School (GIS) continues to lead in fostering innovation and tech-savvy talent, as its students claimed numerous awards in robotics competitions at national, state, and district levels throughout January 2026. These victories highlight the school’s dedication to practical learning, collaboration, and equipping young minds for tomorrow’s challenges.

The events emphasized turning robotics principles into engaging team games, where students in suitable age groups delivered presentations that perfectly aligned with each competition’s core focus.

Team RoboHolics@GIS from Class VII, Adithya Jayaraman, Luckshana S, Saanchi Rai, Satvi Gupta, and Vedanshi Shikar Raj took top honors in the Innovation category at the Vigyantram National Robotics Championship 2025-26 (IIT Delhi, January 11-12). Their creation, ‘MyBuddy’, stood out as the finest among 26 teams nationwide. Fellow Class VI team Roboraptors, Rishaan Thakur, Dhruba Sai Vyukuntam, Tatya Vemulapalli, and Arjun Abhijeet Bhatt earned Best Innovative Idea in Medical Technology there too.

GIS dominated Robopreneur RRL 2026 (Bengaluru, January 17) with six awards: Best School Team in Robotics; 2nd Runner-Up Drone Racing (Arianna T M & Kamaladurga A); 1st Runner-Up Drone Racing (Aahnik Singh & Lewin Reddy); 1st in Junior Innovation (Vanya Mishra & Anvitha Sarvanan); 2nd Runner-Up Junior Sumo (Divyansh Dhananiwala & Adrik Saha); 2nd Runner-Up Senior Robo Racing (Sai Bhavish & Abhinav Bareddy).

The momentum carried into Echelon 3.0 (Bengaluru, January 17), with 2nd in Drone Flying (Samay Sathish & Siddhant Saigal) and 3rd in Web Designing (K Sahana & Aditya Dave). At Tinkerfest 3.0 (Bengaluru, January 9), Shlok Shetty and Siddhant Saigal grabbed 3rd in Drone Flying. Other events yielded trophies, medals, and certificates.

In Mekathlon Regionals (Bangalore, January 17-18), Dhruvin Manoj and Ateeksh Sahu swept 1st in Racer Robo and Robo Soccer, 2nd in Sumo, earning nationals’ qualification. Earlier, at D.I.Y.A Innovation League 2025 (December 6), wins included 1st in Innovation (RoboHolics@GIS: Adithya Jayaraman, Luckshana S, Saanchi Rai), Bridge Challenge (Vanya Mishra, Arianna T M, Kamaladurga A M), and Design Challenge (Amaira Luthra, Kimaya Sharma, Aashika Diya Kumar), plus 1st Runner-Up Design (Sounak Das).

GIS proudly joins annual fixtures like Vigyantram and World Robotics Olympiad, building problem-solving, creativity, and teamwork in students. These successes affirm passion for hands-on innovation.
