The great India that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had dreamed of has come true under the leadership of our Prime Minister. Today Maharashtra has become a very independent and strong stage and contributes 15% of the total GDP of India. So, Maharashtra is a foundation on which the tower of India’s economic growth potentializes.”

Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman, of Aditya Birla Group showed his gratitude toward his employees’ hard work for getting the award and shared views on the growth of India and the Aditya Birla Group. He said “The country will see a growth of 6.7% every year which is an achievement for a large economy like ours. It helped us become one of the world’s largest and most prosperous economies. Our Aditya Birla Group is seeing good growth and we are expecting 20% of the revenue to come from our modern, consumer-facing businesses. We are syncing with the global trend and focusing more on consumer-facing business which always gets more valued. The legacy of growth will be continued by my children and they will drive the empire. Though my daughter pursued a career in singing and my son made his name in sports but now they have joined me. I always supported them in their decision of following their passion which made them more disciplined, more adaptable, and learned to get along with the situation.”

While speaking about joining the Vodafone Idea board again, he said, “I see potential in the company and market which made me join the board again. Now the government has to have 3 players from the private sector in the industry given the strategic importance in the telecom sector which will help the sector grow.”

Indian Actor and Director, Riteish Deshmukh expressed his views on Marathi Cinema and said, “My movie ‘Ved’ gave me the title of Director and I am happy that the audience has shown their love for the movie. Marathi Cinema has always faced a lot of competition from Bollywood, Dubbed Hollywood, and South Indian cinema. Also, we don’t get enough screens in comparison to other cinemas. But I really liked that now people are taking more interest in Marathi cinema too. I would like to thank Darda Family and Lokmat Group for giving platform, space and recognition to Marathi cinema.”

While receiving the LMOTY award, Bollywood Actor Varun Dhawan said, “Maharashtra is my motherland where I started my work too, and getting award title of Maharashtrian of the Year award means a lot to me. These days we see many awards functions but this award is very special as it felicitates the work done by Maharashtra people. I am thankful to Lokmat Group for giving me such a prestigious award.”

Founder and Chairperson, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), Raj Thackeray was interviewed by Amruta Fadnavis and Dr. Amol Kolhe, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha at Lokmat Maharashtrian of the Year 2023 by Lokmat Media Group. While expressing his views in a humorous as well as witty manner during his engrossing interview, he said, “I always wanted to get into filmmaking but I pursued my career as a cartoonist and later as a politician. Now being a politician, I have to do a lot for the betterment of people. I am a proud Maharashtrian; Marathi will always be my topic of discussion and agenda of the party. I always believe parties must keep their word and fulfil their promises. As an opposition, I will criticize the wrong practice of the ruling parties but will praise the right work too.”

The questions ranged from his personal life to his political career as well as his choice of favourite politician between Sharad Pawar and Narendra Modi; his preferred Chief Minister between Devendra Fadnavis and Eknath Shinde. During the rapid-fire round, he was also asked to give one-word advice to Uddhav and Aditya Thackeray.

The nominees get selected by a rigorous process of editorial meetings, public voting and then by a panel of eminent jury. In my first narration, I couldn’t believe this is the character that he penned down for me! The role of a Queenpin leading a cartel was something that I had never done before, and I was excited by the challenge of bringing this complex character to life on screen. Homi is one of the most eccentric directors I have worked with and he brings this eccentricity to their characters and the screenplay. He had a clear idea of what he wanted from the character and how he wanted to tell the story, and I was impressed by his attention to detail and his passion for the project. Overall, it was the combination of the character, the story, and the opportunity to work with Homi that made me say yes to the show.”

Lifebuoy launches ‘Gift of the Ganga’ in the Metaverse to collect plastic waste and build handwash stations in under-served schools

India, 29th April 2023: According to a recent UNICEF Report[1], around 818 million children in the world lack basic handwashing facilities at their schools, which puts them at increased risk of COVID-19 and other transmittable diseases. Furthering its global mission to improve handwashing behaviour especially amongst children, Hindustan Unilever Limited’s number one hygiene soap brand, Lifebuoy kicked-off the largest virtual hygiene drive in the Metaverse – Gift of the Ganga.

This unique Minecraft build aims to turn germ-breeding pollution into germ-protection, thereby turning pollution that is bad into germ protection that is good. On ‘Gift of the Ganga’, gamers are invited to fish out plastic pollution from the mighty river recreated in the metaverse. In exchange, Lifebuoy will clear an equivalent and more amount from the actual river.

On-ground, in partnership with Swayambhu, a social enterprise and Central Government’s Namami Gange Programme, Lifebuoy will roll out plastic waste collection and upcycling efforts in one of the most afflicted parts of the river – the Haridwar bend. The plastic collected will be supplemented by a segregation process of identifying, classifying, dividing, and sorting so that it can then be sent onward for upcycling. To drive awareness and action, Lifebuoy also encourages physical participation from people from all walks of life to participate in the actual clean-up drive on-ground to volunteer. BPCL Receives Two Prestigious Awards – NAMC for Commitment to Manufacturing Competitiveness and PCRA for Energy Conservation

Bangalore/Mumbai/Kochi, April  2023: BPCL is proud to announce that its Kochi Refinery has been awarded the prestigious Gold medal at this year’s National Awards for Manufacturing Competitiveness (NAMC), while the Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) recognized its unwavering commitment to energy conservation and achieving a Net Zero future during the inaugural function of SAKSHAM 2023.

The Kochi Refinery’s exceptional performance and commitment to safety, effective leadership, and other parameters have been widely recognized by the International Research Institute of Manufacturing (IRIM). NAMC is a highly respected platform for evaluating the top manufacturing units in India and recognizing excellence in non-conventional approaches and tailor-made strategies of organizations.

On behalf of BPCL, Mr. Ajith Kumar K, ED(KR), received the Gold medal at NAMC. The award is a testament to BPCL’s commitment to excellence and inspires the company to continue striving toward achieving greater heights in the manufacturing industry.

At the SAKSHAM 2023 event, PCRA recognized BPCL’s commitment to energy conservation and achieving a Net Zero future. Shri Sanjay Khanna, Director (Refineries) received the citation from Shri Rameswar Teli, Hon’ble Union Minister of State, Petroleum & Natural Gas and Labour & Employment. The event aimed to highlight the adverse health and environmental impacts of increasing carbon footprints and convince consumers to switch to cleaner fuels.

In addition, during the event, Shri Rameswar Teli reviewed BPCL’s Bharat Hi-Star Stove, which has a higher thermal efficiency of 74 percent than the normal LPG stove available in the market.

Shri Santosh Nivendkar, State Level Coordinator, Maharashtra, was also felicitated for conducting the maximum number of activities during the SAKSHAM campaign last year.

SAKSHAM is a significant annual event jointly organized by PCRA and the oil industry under the aegis of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Govt. of India, and guidelines of PCRA (petroleum Conservation research association) with the sole purpose of bringing awareness among the people on the need for oil and gas conservation and means to do it.

The School of Business Management, Noida International University: organised Business Trithon on 28th April 2023, where students from various colleges from Delhi-NCR and other states participated in the Business Trithon, the event comprised three activities; Business Plan Competition, Business Quiz, and Extempore.

The event began with an Inaugural ceremony, graced by Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Parsanjeet Kumar, in his account, exhorted all participating teams and extended his best wishes. The Prof.(Dr.) Subhash Kumar Verma, Director of the School of Business Management, underlined the importance of such events that provide a potential platform for participants to brainstorm, learn and execute their plans.

He also welcomed the guests Dr Bipin Srivastava- IIC Ambassador., Mr Shashank Saxena- Research Lead- 13 D Research and Strategy, and Dr Neha Tomer from ICFAI University Dehradun, regards with floral bouquet, Dr Prasanjeet Kumar, Pro Vice Chancellor of Noida International University, gave a welcome address to encourage students to give their best at the competitions.
Mr Shashank Saxena also encouraged students to learn from the ideas and the problems. Mr Saxena has given many examples and said we are here to learn innovative ideas and motivate students to give their best.

A total of 12 teams from different colleges participated in the Business Plan Competition. The teams came up with many creative ideas which had the potential to become successful business ventures. Dr Neha Tomar, Dr Manju Kundu, and Mr Shashank Saxena judged the event. The jury evinced a great interest in all the plans presented and came up with many valuable suggestions. The business Plan Competition has been coordinated by Dr Shilpi Singh, Associate Professor, and Mr Rahul Kapoor, Assistant Professor, SBM-NIU.

In the Extempore, A total of 17 students participated from different Institutions and universities. The topics given to the participants were from various subjects like Health, Education, Social Media, Environment, and others.
The participants were supposed to speak on the topic for two minutes. This competition was judged by Dr Apurva Chatterjee, NIU, and Dr Bipin Kumar Srivastava, Galgotias University. The program was conducted by Mr Anil Verma, Asstt. Professor and Ms Shikha Goyal, Asstt. Professor, School Of Business Management, Noida International University.

Business Quiz-conducted by Ms Archana Kumari and Dr Saba Parveen, Assistant Professor, School of Business Management. Here, 24 Teams from various institutes, participated in Business Quiz. After the inaugural session, the business quiz started with a preliminary round for selecting the top ten finalists. Twenty-four teams have participated in the written preliminary round, which consists of 40 MCQs to be completed in 30 minutes. After shortlisting the ten finalists, the Final Business Quiz Stage Round was started. There were four rounds, the second round was the elimination round, in which five teams got eliminated since only five teams played the 3rd and 4th rounds. The session was looked after by Dr Shraddha Purohit, Associate Professor, School of Journalism and Mass Communication, Noida International University.

In the end, the result of all the Competitions has been declared. Angelina D’Souza from Galgotias University won the third position, Vivek Kumar, G. L. Bajaj Institute of Management and Research bagged the Second position, and Sheetal Chauhan, SBM- Noida International University bagged the first position in Extempore. Simran Arora and Vivek Kumar from GL Bajaj won the third position, Simran Arora and Vivek Kumar from the SBM-NIU team won the second position, and Rishik Srivastava and Shashand Kumar from Sharda University Bagged first position in Business Quiz.

The team from SLLA-NIU won the third position, the Team from GL Bajaj bagged Second position, and the team from ICFAI University, Dehradun bagged First position in Business Plan Competition.

The jury members have also decided to fund the team Ignite Sports Club for their outstanding idea. All winners have been facilitated with goodies and internship opportunities from The BEEP. At the end of the day’s activities, Dr Nitin Chaturvedi, HOD, SBM-NIU gave the vote of thanks. The overall coordination was done by Dr Yamini Pandey, Associate Professor, and Dr Pallavi Tandon, Assistant Professor, SBM-NIU.
