Tourism WA appoints new marketing agency in India

Tourism Western Australia has upscaled its investment in India with the appointment of international marketing agency T&A Consulting Private Limited., to drive Western Australia’s trade marketing and public relations operations across the country.

India represents an enormous growth opportunity for the WA visitor economy, with travellers from India injecting $63 million in visitor spend into WA in 2019.

In the period May to September 2022, arrivals from India to WA recovered to 87 percent of pre-COVID levels, which far outstripped the average of 46 percent from other countries, and reflects the Indian market’s rapidly growing interest in WA as a holiday destination.

T&A Consulting will represent Tourism WA in India as of Monday 28 November for an initial six-month period. The integrated marketing and public relations agency will replace the current in-market India Trade Development Manager role, which will conclude on Friday 9 December after a handover period.

IIM Kashipur observes International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women through candle march

Kashipur, Uttarakhand, 26th November 2022: The Indian Institute of Management Kashipur observed International Day for the Elimination of Violence against women in the college premises. This campaign led by the UN general secretary and UN Women strives to end and stop violence against women and girls around the globe by raising awareness, promoting advocacy and providing platforms to entertain discussions of this issue and finding possible solutions.

It also took this opportunity to honour the memories of Shraddha Walkar, a woman who was a victim of violence andto commemorate women all around the world who have experienced similar acts of violence.

All the students of IIM Kashipur came forward for the cause and took part in the candle march along with the Faculty, Staff and Academic Associates.The huge participation made the event a success and showcased the commitment to combat such violence.

New Delhi: Shri Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister of Law and Justice inaugurated Kathakar 2022, the sole celebration of India’s rich oral storytelling tradition, on 25 November 2022, being held at Sunder Nursery, a heritage park in Delhi and at Central Vista, India Gate. This year Kathakar is partnering with the Ministry of Culture under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. Actor and Powerhouse performer, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and noted music composer and singer Mohit Chauhan were also part of the sessions and joined the lamp-lighting ceremony to inaugurate the event. Also present at the inauguration were dignitaries such as President ICCR, Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, and other storytellers from India and abroad.

Kathakar was started under the umbrella of Ghummakkad Narain Travelling Literature Festival in 2010 with an intent to revive the age-old tradition of oral storytelling in India. The National Capital has been a witness to a warm welcome of Storytellers from all across the globe over the years by audience of all ages.

Shri Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister of Law and Justice, during his address at the inauguration said, “I applaud the organisers of the Kathakar for providing a platform to storytellers from around the world. Our society has forgotten the importance of our storytelling tradition, so we need to encourage platforms like these. Our government will further contribute to Kathakar in the future”.

Mrs. Meenakshi Lekhi, Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture narrated the story of a brave freedom fighter Neera Arya at the Kathakar festival as India celebrates 75 years of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. She said, women have played an equal role in fighting for the freedom of the country and many unsung stories need to be told. It is important to remember the sacrifices laid down by our ancestors.

Mohit Chauhan, narrated his story to stardom and many anecdotes associated to his journey from NSD Delhi, to Bollywood. He said that he is delighted that he could be part of Kathakar 2022 and appreciated the platform’s effort to bring back the age-old cultural tradition of storytelling. He thanked the organisers and said that audience present at the event are very fortunate to experience the best storytellers and performers from India and abroad. He thoroughly connected with the audience throughout the session and engaged them in open-ended conversation with aplomb.

Mohit Chauhan noted music composer, and singer who is also the patron of the festival said “The art of storytelling in India has many forms and utilises many mediums. Despite differences in settings, genres, or cultures, all stories ultimately aim to convey something universal. They serve both an educational and entertainment function for audiences”.

The four-day marquee started on 25th November and will conclude on November 28, 2022. The festival will showcase in its pristine physical form, amazing stories, and music by Indian and International storytellers from seven countries: the United Kingdom; Australia; Mongolia; Israel; Sierra Leonne; Korea; and India.

  • Day two of the event, Nov. 26 will feature Kissey, Kahani aur Cinema with Prarthana Gahilote in conversation with Sanjay Mishra at Central Vista, India Gate, Delhi followed by a Sufi musical night by Satpal Wadali at Sunder Nursery, Nizamuddin, Delhi
  • Day three of the event, Nov. 27, is going to host feature Kissey, Kahani aur Mausiki with Prarthana Gahilote in conversation with Imtiaz Ali and Mohit Chauhan, and Kabir Vani by Prahlad Singh Tipanniya.

Among International artists this year, Kathakar is hosting Niall Moorjani (United Kingdom), Lilian Rodrigues Pang (Australia), Baatarjav Erdenetsogt (Mongolia), Alim Kamara (Sierra Leonne), Sarah Rundle (United Kingdom), Seung Ah Kim (South Korea) and Yossi Alfi (Israel).

IEEMA organises its first Road Show in Southern Region for ELECRAMA 2023 in Hyderabad

26th November Hyderabad: The Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers’ Association (IEEMA), the apex association of the Indian electrical equipment manufacturing industry today hosted an interactive session with the senior officials of the Telangana Power sector along with Roadshow for the 15th edition of ELECRAMA today at Hotel Le Meridien, in Hyderabad. ELECRAMA 2023 in Hyderabad

ELECRAMA, the largest stand-alone showcase of the Indian Electrical and Allied Electronics Industry by IEEMA is slated to commence from February 18th to 22nd, 2023 at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida. IEEMA and its members will work together with the Government of India to achieve a 100-year partnership of electrifying, digitalizing, and greening India. The theme of ELECRAMA 2023 is “Reimagine Energy – For Sustainable Future ” and will be heavily based in showcasing innovation and future technologies in many areas including Storage, Green Hydrogen, Fuel Cells, AI, and IoT. This edition will also focus on sustainability through Energy Conservation, Carbon Net Zero, and Smart Consumption.

Kolkata, 26 November 2022: The Board of Practical Training, Eastern Region, an organisation under the Ministry of Education, Govt of India has focused on the growing number of vacant apprenticeship training facilities in different Industries and Establishments in Eastern India. While celebrating Regional Apprenticeship Day 2022, they have stressed on the fact of the importance of hands-on skill development opportunities for the youth who are going to be employed in various sectors, making a contribution to the overall economic growth of the country. The esteemed guests present at the event were Sri. Achint Kumar, Under Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Education, Dr. R.K. Dash, General Manager (HRD), Coal India Ltd., Dr. Savita Sengar, Vice Chancellor, Jharkhand Rai University and Sri. S.M. Ejaz Ahmed, Director, Board of Practical Training (ER).

“The demographic dividend has long been viewed as an important factor for economic development and provided a rationale for policies aiming at a more balanced age structure through birth control and family planning. But to achieve the same first we need to scale up our youth and BOPT (ER) has a major role to play under this criterion by generating employment for the youth as they start their career.” Said Ministry officials, Ministry of Education during the ‘Regional Apprentice Day 2022’ celebration at the Netaji Subhas Auditorium, Salt Lake today.

BOPT (ER) has also unveiled its mascot at the annual celebration. In order to provide on-the-job training to fresh engineering graduates and diploma holders in engineering in an organized and effective manner, four Regional Boards of Practical Training (BOPT)/ Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT) were set up by the Ministry of Education and Culture, Govt. of India as Autonomous organizations back in 1968. The Regional offices of the Boards are located in Kolkata, Chennai, Kanpur & Mumbai. After having set up the Regional Boards, the PTS Scheme was transferred to four Regional Boards, entrusting direct responsibility and autonomy to the Administration of the Scheme. The post Apprenticeship employment percentage under NATS is around 80% of total engagement. The employability percentage stands at 95% in 2022 which is an all-time high for the past 7 years. Thus “Apprenticeship Training” can possibly be established as a gateway to a professional career and “A Step Towards Employment”. Non-Engineering graduates can also enroll this year onwards.

Speaking about the celebration Sri. S.M. Ejaz Ahmed, Director, Board of Practical Training (ER) said, “In a country like India where a rapidly increasing population is a grave concern as the employment options are not increasing at par. That is the reason BOP (ER) is taking an effort to facilitate employers by providing trained, disciplined & skilled manpower to meet the required human resources in the emerging areas.”

The President of India Conferred National Florence Nightingale Award to Dr Elsa Sanatombi Devi of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal

BENGALURU,  November 2022: Dr. Elsa Sanatombi Devi, professor & QMR at Manipal College of Nursing and FAIMER faculty at MFIIPLIPE, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), was presented with the National Florence Nightingale Award 2021 by President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu on 7 November 2022 at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi.

The historic National Florence Nightingale Awards have been presented to outstanding nursing personnel, honoring their meritorious services. The awards, formed in 1973, are a significant recognition of individuals’ efforts in the field. Dr. Elsa was the sole winner of a private organization for 2021.

Dr. Elsa said of her win, “I am beyond honored; it is a moment of deep personal satisfaction and professional pride to be acknowledged among the other outstanding winners of this prominent award. I am indebted to several people, not least my students, who have continuously inspired compassion and warmth. I am immensely grateful for the recognition and am already looking ahead to more exciting chapters as an educator and learner. I am grateful to MAHE for providing all the support & right environment to excel in my profession”

Dr. Elsa boasts of several academic and societal contributions, including those towards COVID-19 counseling under StepOne and ICMR projects for the government of India. Dr. Elsa is the first nurse to receive the FAIMER fellowship at the International FAIMER Institute in Philadelphia, USA, is a renowned trainer, and has initiated the first “Manipal Coloplast HEAL Academy”—an industry collaboration to develop and train MBBS and nursing graduate wound managers. She is currently invested in her dream project of training dementia caregivers in Udupi, Karnataka.

Dr. HS Ballal, Pro-Chancellor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education, said, “Dr. Elsa’s accomplishments are a credit to her professionalism, exemplary skills, desire to learn, and selfless attitude. Fun, Frolic & Food Add to the Spirit of Celebration at Ujjval World School’s Annual Carnival 2022

Bangalore, November 2022: Ujjval World School’s mega annual event last Saturday had a carnivalesque ring to it throughout. Kick-started on the occasion of Children’s Day on November 14, a string of celebrations pushed the adrenaline levels up for the children. The all-inclusive event spanning over the day was bursting with fun, games, merry-making activities, and exciting prizes for all age groups. The event was witnessed by over 2,000 people (students and their families) from across the city.

Amid the fun activities, a few thrilling creative pursuits stole the show. Children loved doing pottery, clay modeling, rock painting, and sand art which generated enthusiasm from all. Special puppet shows were organized & tombola parading also drew huge applause. The overall excitement breached all levels when stage characters – such as a clown, a juggler, stilt walkers, and a headless man – held the crowd enthralled & the magician showed his breath-taking magic tricks.

What added to the festive environment are universal characters such as a frozen bouncy castle, unicorn slide, hurdles, and the ball pool.

The DJ for the day played the most happening music constantly keeping the audience engaged and grooving with foot-tapping numbers. Over and above, the varied cuisines were enjoyed by one and all, adding to their fun and frolic.

Expressing her joy, Ms. Ragini Sharma – Principal of Ujjval World School said, “Our school’s Annual Carnival is an event that students, teachers, and parents alike look forward to. We were able to host the Carnival after a gap of two years inside our school campus and were absolutely thrilled to witness the astounding level of participation. We organized various events throughout the week for our students, starting with Children’s Day, which included a potluck party, music and dance, art and craft, games, and a movie screening.”

Ap Government To Further Enhance The Monitoring System Of Basic Infrastructure In Urban Areas

Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, November  2022: The AP Government to now focus on continuous monitoring of basic infrastructure in cities and towns and find quick resolutions to problems raised. This includes attending to the potholes menace, road repairs, drains, underground drainage issues, and public toilets maintenance, to name a few. They are now focused on establishing a structured system for the long run. To this, the officials from the Department of Municipal Administration and Urban Development briefed the Chief Minister during a review meeting with the department on Friday. To keep a consistent monitoring system, the officials have developed the AP Consistent Monitoring of Municipal Services ‘AP CM MS’ App, which will be ready to be operationalized in the coming weeks.

  • With over 4,119 ward secretariats spread across the state, the system will run with stronger SOPs in place.
  • Road Network Master Data will be available with the Ward Amenities Secretary
  • Each Ward Amenity Secretary will have 6 – 7 KMs. (approx.) road network for daily inspection
  • Every day (10.00 am – 12.00 noon), all Ward Amenities Secretaries (4119 Wards) shall survey every street within his / her ward and capture POTHOLES & other grievances regarding drains,
  • UGD, Drinking Water Pipeline, and Street Light.
  • Citizens can also report Potholes and similar grievances through this app
  • Citizens in the ULB will have access to the Dashboard to report grievances and to know the status of the compliance
  • NADU – NEDU Photos will be captured through the AP CM MS App.
