RANGAPRAVESHAM’ – A Kuchipudi Dance Recital by Aadya Gupta

RANGAPRAVESHAM’ – A Kuchipudi Dance Recital by Aadya Gupta Rangapravesham is a significant milestone in the journey of a Kuchipudi dancer.
Rangapravesham, meaning “ascending the stage” in Sanskrit, marks the transition of an artiste from a student to a blossoming dancer. This performance, accompanied by a live orchestra, demands the dancer to exhibit a deep understanding of Kuchipudi’s many facets, blending sensitive expressions with intricate rhythms and combining grace with vigor.

Aadya marks her solo debut following 14 years of rigorous training under the esteemed guidance of her Gurus, Padma Bhushan & Padma Shri Awardees Drs. Raja Radha Reddy and Guru Kaushalya Reddy. Since the age of five, Aadya has been a devoted student at Natya Tarangini, where the institute has become her second home, nurturing her growth both as a dancer and an individual.

Aadya’s schooling at Modern School Barakhamba Road and her current studies in Politics, Government, and International Relations at SciencesPo, Paris, France, have also provided her with diverse and enriching platforms to exhibit her dance skills over the past 18 years. She feels deeply grateful for the opportunity to complete her Kuchipudi Rangapravesham at this pivotal juncture in her journey.

Entering the institute as an introverted child, it was her Gurus’ passion, technical precision, strict rehearsals, discipline, and profound understanding of the art form that helped Aadya blossom into the performer she is today. Under their tutelage, she has had the privilege of performing on various prestigious platforms across India, for which she is eternally grateful.

With this milestone of her Rangapravesham, and the unparalleled support from her family and friends, Aadya aspires to scale new heights with even greater dedication and devotion in her dance journey.
