Himachal Pradesh, Dec 29: Ambuja Cements, the 9th largest building materials solutions provider globally and part of the diversified Adani Portfolio, is strengthening rural communities in Himachal Pradesh through impactful initiatives in farming, education, and water management. These efforts are helping drive self-reliance, productivity, and inclusive growth across the region.
In Pazina village, over 50 farmers adopted net fencing to protect crops from wild animals, guided by local volunteer Meena and supported by Ambuja Cements. This boosted farm productivity and generated ₹23,000 in business through the local FPO—while encouraging a shift toward diversified farming.
At GCPS Chandi, a student once labelled “feeble-minded” found confidence and academic success through consistent support from a community volunteer. Today, he actively participates in class, reflecting Ambuja Cements’ commitment to inclusive learning in rural schools.
In Barayali village, Ambuja Cements along with NABARD revived a defunct irrigation channel through a 550 RM pipeline and moisture conservation works. This brought 3 hectares under irrigation, benefiting 22 households with triple cropping cycles, higher farm incomes, and improved dairy yields.
These initiatives highlight Ambuja Cements’ commitment to enabling sustainable, community-led development—transforming lives through practical, grassroots solutions.
