Sikkim Chief Minister Attended 38th Annual General Convention of All India Tamang Buddhist Association in Darjeeling

New Delhi, Jan 28: Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang attended the 38th Annual General Convention of the All India Tamang Buddhist Association, Central Committee, held in Darjeeling yesterday. In his address, he said the convention is not merely an annual event, but a celebration of the community’s history, values, and collective journey. 

He noted that the Tamang community has made significant contributions to the social, cultural, and spiritual fabric of the nation, guided by the timeless Buddhist values of compassion, harmony, and coexistence. He also acknowledged the Association’s efforts in promoting Buddhism, preserving the Tamang language, culture, and traditions, and fostering unity across the country. 

The Chief Minister welcomed the release of the magazine Phyaphulo, describing it as a meaningful initiative that will help preserve history and pass cultural awareness to future generations. He observed that the enthusiastic participation of youth and artists reflected a bright future rooted in both tradition and progress. 

He expressed gratitude to the organisers, scholars, volunteers, and all those who contributed to making the convention a success, and wished the All India Tamang Buddhist Association continued growth and success.
